Brides, stay away. I was a guest at this venue, and this place is by far the WORST wedding venue I've attended. It is so unprofessional and tacky. Guests were practically kicked out of the property even while waiting for a ride home. The food was just ok. Nothing to call mom about. Save your money and dignity and find another venue. read more

RIP OFF...... (outside of how nice they were during planing, not worth your money) MULTIPLE REASONS: 1. They won't tell you this until after the wedding. They will NOT allow you to have left overs! "Because of insurance ". Its no where listed in contract either. We paid for 25 extra plates of people that no showed. You know that food went somewhere. 2. our guests all complained about portions of food they were given were sooooo tiny and by the time they were allowed out of seats to get seconds, they removed the food layout. So between 1 and 2 we wasted thousands on food..... 3. I dont drink beer I mad that beyond clear. As the bride I paid for the peachtini package. The bar did not keep it stocked and I was only able to get 2....... then he says you can have beer.... (another few thousand wasted) 4. Felt rushed the whole night! 5. $300 worth of sparklers missing. I called the next week because they did not send them with us or my dress hanger. She said we could pick them up .the staff said they had no idea and someone probably took them home or threw them out. If i could redo my wedding I would not have wasted my money here. Its beautiful and a 1 stop shop, but they don't tell you everything and everytime you ask about something the answer changes. Again not worth it! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I got married in January and they made the whole process seem effortless! It made me wonder what people talk about when they say wedding planning is "stressful!" They have a variety of wedding packages to choose from. It was so easy! Margaret our planner made sure everything went smoothly. The food by the in-house caterers was delicious and so was the cake. And EVERYTHING was BEAUTIFUL!! I had many of my guests tell me it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! It couldn't have been better! read more

My husband and I had our wedding at Hazlehurst House earlier this month. Everything went perfectly! They assigned a coordinator to work with us, Lisa, who was great. Hazlehurst will literally do it all for you. Their package includes food, dj, violinists for the ceremony, and basic decor. They will also do your cake and flowers for you. We had them do it all and it turned out beautifully. All of our guests had a great time. The DJ was especially wonderful. He really kept everyone engaged and on the dance floor. Everything went off without a hitch. We were very pleased and would definitely recommend Hazlehurst. read more

I recently held my wedding at the Hazlehurst House in McDonough, Ga and the first time I saw the place I fell in love! My planning meetings with Tammy were always pleasant and productive. They seemed to be very professional and organized up until the evening of our rehearsal. We were only allowed half an hour to rehearse and that was ok, we brushed it off and moved on. On the night of our wedding it was exciting at first, the ceremony began and as soon as we walked off into the house we did not hear a congratulations we heard there is a problem. This being our big day we didn't want to hear that. The manager Jay came up with a balance that wasn't needed. He told someone else to tell us that we owed 600 dollars for guest listed on our seating chart that DID NOT SHOW UP!. They then proceeded to say that they couldn't serve anyone until the balance was paid. In the contract it said that we would be billed should we have any extra guest. Can we please go on google and look up what that means. Have you ever had to pay a bill the day it came in the mail because I haven't. So for 45 minutes we went back and forth on why we owed it and what not. During this time the guests were being served appetizers (which most of my guest did not receive) I found out from a few of the guests that they had to eat out of their hands because they would not bring out napkins after being asked several times. Are you serious? They had to go to the restroom and get napkins to eat off of. The servers didn't smile and they seemed like they didn't want to be there. Now we are all eating after the ceremony and the food was great really was. The thing is the chicken was cut in half and yet staff was complaining they were going to need more food for the imaginary guests that weren't even there. So now we move on and the dj was great and we got kicked out before our time my guests had to stand in the drizzling rain and light sparklers by this time even the flower girl was upset. After the wedding my mom tried to go get her things out of the house and they would not let her in. They told her that they put everything in the car but when she looked her items were still missing. When we called Nicki the day of coordinator who helped us and it turns out she threw out my moms belongings. When my mother went back to the house the following Tuesday Tammy (who did not attend the wedding) came up with another balance (the first balance was paid on the day of the wedding by the way). No one ever went to check on my guest or get a guest count. There were 2 rows of empty seats at the ceremony yet I was still charged for extra guest that were not there! Am I going to be reimbursed? NOPE! So that brings us here me having paid an unnecessary amount, thrown away items and even though I had somewhat of a good time I feel like my event was not handled the way it should have been. This was suppose to be the happiest day of my life and I honestly feel like they intentionally tried everything in their power to ruin it. I pray that no other bride has to go through what I just experienced. read more

The Hazlehurst House did a fantastic job for our early fall wedding! We scheduled the wedding from out of town, so we were initially worried about the process, but the staff made coordinating easy. Ashley worked with us on everything from setting up the hotel for our out of town guests to providing possible locations for on outdoor picnic-style rehearsal dinner. Every time we needed anything, Ashley delivered. She communicated on her days off and was always reachable as the day approached. On the day of the wedding, the entire staff made the process simple for us. The food was delicious, the signature drink we chose was excellent, and the venue was decorated gorgeously. My wedding reception was held at The Hazlehurst House on November 8th. My worst nightmare came true 3 months prior to my wedding.....my original reception venue would not be built in time after numerous promises otherwise. I called and spoke to Ashley at the Hazlehurst house who I automatically felt comfortable and confident with. Within a few hours of speaking to her she helped my re-plan my entire reception and menu. The Hazlehurst house was so accommodating and welcoming to me and my family. Ashley is extremely organized and responsive. She kept an open communication with me the entire time and I knew when I showed up to the reception that everything would be taken care of as I had 100% confidence that she would make it perfect.
