PHENOMENAL CHEF! We hired chef Jarvis for our baby shower and a personal dinner for two!…read moreBaby shower: he prepared shrimp and grits, seafood pasta, and fresh fruit tray. ALL FRUIT WAS GONE! The freshest fruit! The shrimp and grits were light but well seasoned! There was just enough shrimp in each bite and he wasn't stingy with the portion size. The seafood pasta was an ultimate hit! There was seafood in every bite and it was the freshest seafood! I never had seafood pasta prepared this way. It contained crab, shrimp and a lobster topping! EVERYONE ATE ALL OF HIS FOOD. We ordered enough and none was left! All of our guests constantly still talk about how good the food was at the shower Private dinner: Chef Jarvis served jalapeño wrapped in bacon, seafood macaroni and cheese, fingerling potatoes, asparagus and a Tomahawk steak. The steak was extremely tender and well seasoned! The seafood macaroni and cheese was fluffy and the seafood taste was not over powering the Mac and cheese. The asparagus and potatoes were fresh and seasoned perfectly! To end the night we were served a brownie that was sooooo soft! I don't eat sweets because I don't like the way they taste but I ate the whole brownie! That says something! I would definitely hire him again! There is no one better in Atalanta! Typically everyone is about presentation and no taste or vice versa. Chef Jarvis comes with both! You get great tasting food, beautiful presentation and stellar service !!!

From our first meeting there the staff was amazing from helping with accommodations to every detail in helping to make our day about us. Even though I know we were not the only couple getting married there it felt like we were. They made us feel so special. After we booked our day, they invited us to their wedding extravaganza. We were able to taste the food, meet the DJ, see the flowers and meet the staff. It was so great to be able to do this and meet the vendors before our wedding. They took so much stress off of us the week of our wedding. Our planner helped with our rehearsal at the church and was at the church to greet us the day of our wedding. They had refreshments for us and our bridal party waiting before the ceremony. They even helped direct our guests from the church to the Hazlehurst House. Once we arrived for the reception they had food and drinks waiting for the bridal before and after pictures. They made us feel so special. The DJ was amazing at introducing us to getting everyone on the dance floor. The food was amazing!! All of our guests raved about the food, staff, DJ, planner, flowers. My mom loved that she only had to carry her shoes to the car. The staff loaded all the gifts for her...so thoughtful and sweet. The whole Hazlehurst House team made our wedding day the best day of our lives. We highly recommend them for a wedding venue!!! Ryan and Ashley

Chef Brandy was super responsive to our inquiry, professional to deal with, and she prepared a meal in our home that surpassed many that we've had at very upscale restaurants. We both enjoy entertaining, and in general, cooking for our guests is part of the fun (for us), but there have been several times that we've said, "maybe we should just hire Chef Brandy to come do the cooking...." because her food was so good, she is fairly priced and she took care of literally everything. You get a lot of food for the money, we tried the fried catfish plates, for sides we had candied yams, macaroni, collard greens, fried cabbage, and potato salad. We tried hush puppies and cornbread, and banana pudding for dessert. The fried catfish portion is generous and seasoned well, we had ours with tartar sauce and hot sauce. It was extremely fresh and piping hot. The sides were all great and I look forward to trying more, the collards and potato salad were our favorites! The banana pudding is sweet and they use some sort of cake type dessert instead of vanilla wafers, it's very good! Service is great, it was our first time and we were a little lost. They have a cashier and an ordering kiosk, plenty of room and nice tables to dine in which I appreciate. Staff was friendly! Can't wait to try more of their meals!
