So up against that, I sometimes am disappointed by the Mexican food I get at home in the US, far closer to Mexico than Germany. I haven't eaten a whole lot of Mexican food outside of North America, but some of the most bland I've ever had has been on another continent. Enchilada is not that kind of Mexican restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. We went there one night for dinner. We arrived somewhat late, but they were still open and there were several tables occupied by people eating. The restaurant seemed to be a fairly popular place to hang out on the weeknight we were there. As is often the case, parking was difficult, but we lucked out and got a space across the street. They had a fair selection of local beers and a pretty extensive menu. I got an enchilada platter which included two enchiladas, Mexican rice, a few chips and a little salad. The enchiladas came with a little chili on them, unusual, but it worked. My meal tasted good, and had a good flavor to it. My wife got a plate of nachos which turned out to be absolutely massive, but very good and loaded with toppings. Overall, we liked this place. Their Mexican food is quite good and though I have had better closer to Mexico, I think it does the cuisine justice. If I were in the area, I would go here again.

The food is generic and typical of what Germany calls "Mexican" food: disappointing, processed, and…read morebland.. HOWEVER.. the cocktails are probably the best in town! Go here for margaritas with friends, and enjoy the outside terrace on warm nights. Later in the evenings, it becomes quite a "scene" for the local student population.

Horrible service from the get-go. Based on the good reviews, I hunted…read more this place down and arrived about 4:50. Instead of being invited in, I was told that they were not open until 5. I asked if that meant I had to leave and come back at 5, to which the waitress replied that I could sit outside and order a drink, but I could not receive the happy hour price until 5 pm (a whole ten minutes later). When I finally got the happy hour margarita (5.50 Eur), it was tiny and warm (no ice). I can't believe they normally charge 8.50 Eur for that! Later when I wanted to order some food, I asked if I could mix the different enchilada sauces, even if it meant paying a little extra, but the waitress firmly replied no, that is not possible. Their perspective on service is all wrong and they'll likely find that customers won't return somewhere that their business isn't appreciated.

I have to give a big tip of my hat to this place. In comparison to other Mexican joints in town…read more *cough cough Milagros cough cough* this one really does live up to its reputation. Though I had never been there before, I decided I wanted to try it for my birthday dinner.....a risky move, but I'm glad I took the risk. My friends and I took full advantage of the Happy Hour from 5 to 7pm. Even if the drinks hadn't been at Happy Hour prices, they still would be worth the money. No skimping on alcohol here! Also, upon being told it was my birthday, the owner (pretty sure his name was Jorge) sent out a round of shots and played not one but TWO birthday songs for me. Jorge really is a nice guy and makes you feel like he appreciates your business. Now on to the food. I had the enchiladas de mole and I must say it was really on point! The mole sauce was out of this world. It was the first time since I moved to Munich that I was able to enjoy great, authentic Mexican. From the chocolate, to the chilis, to the spices....it was like you could taste every separate ingredient in the sauce and it all blended together perfectly. I was so pleased with myself for choosing this dish haha There isn't a question of IF I will eat here again, the only question is WHEN. Two big thumbs from me!
