My child was treated differently in a way that was impossible to ignore- dismissive, exclusionary, and painfully racist. Watching any child be made to feel unwelcome/lesser in a space that should be safe and encouraging was heartbreaking. On top of that, the staff (specifically Miss Nicole Carey) was rude, cold, and offered no instruction whatsoever. No guidance, no patience, no professionalism- just attitude and neglect. A dance studio should build confidence and joy, not shame and confusion. If you can't treat all children (including ALL nationalities & backgrounds) with kindness, fairness, and basic human decency, you should not be teaching them. I would truly NEVER recommend this studio to any parent. Do better- or don't work with children at all.

Although my daughter will now be dancing for her high school dance team we will always have a special place in our heart for Miss Heejins! My daughter learned so much from dance technique to stage presence and everything in between! The confidence that she built as a dancer has been truly remarkable to watch. There are many dance studios in our area to consider but what I can tell you is that Miss Heejins is a notch above the rest. When at competitions, my husband and I would always be in awe of how sharp and incredible the Miss Heejin dances were. Sure other studios are good but theres a difference. We would call it the Miss Heejin snap! Clean, sharp, precise, and just pure talent! When my daughter faced challenges, Miss Heejin showed up! She would have irrational mood swings and handle issues with a severe negative attitude around the children. When I confronted her about this, however, she became defensive and gave me major attitude. Additionally, it seemed like my daughter was never learning anything new. I would be paying this women a fortune to teach my daughter the same thing she taught her the week before. I am very displeased with my overall experience with management and staffing. As for the studio itself, the waiting room reeked of body odor every time I was there. It was so unbearable that I would just wait outside for my daughter to finish as I peered through the glass windows. Not to mention the studio was dirty and not well organized. I hired 4 lyrical dancers from Urbanity Dance to perform freestyle solos as part of a surprise…read moreflash mob proposal for my partner, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The dancers were super professional, dressed elegantly, and really breathed life into the song that the orchestra (hired from a separate company) played. I paid a flat rate per dancer, which included the performance and 50 minutes of rehearsal time before the proposal to give the dancers a chance to rehearse with the orchestra since they had not worked together before; Urbanity Dance was worth every penny and then some! The final performance was exactly what I had envisioned, and I especially appreciated that the dancer who performed last (Joy) finished her solo with a "lyrical invitation" for my partner and I to follow her to the predetermined proposal spot - this aligned perfectly with the music as it was fading out, and allowed for perfect photography/videography coverage - plus the two of us were in such a daze as everything was happening that we definitely needed the clear guidance Joy provided. Big big thank you to my POC, Cayley, and each of the dancers who made this possible: Genny, Katie, Haley, and Joy.
