We visited on a Wednesday evening & were suprised to find that Cork & Cask features complimentary wine tastings daily during store hours. How nice! The selection of beer & wine included many options we had not experienced including chocolate espresso wine, Climber wine (wine in a pouch w/ a caribeener)a huge variety of local beer & distinctive imports. There were also various wine & beer gifts spread throughout the store. The wine tasting, coupled with meat & cheese samples from the neighboring Accentric Home Store & Deli, it was a nice way to start the evening & to experience all the Cork & Cask had to offer. Never been treated so rude at a liquor store before. Just stopped in on our way up north to pick up…read moresome beer, we pulled up with a truck and an ice castle, and at first we weren't even sure if they open because there weren't any cars in the parking lot and it was dark. But I did see the open sign so I hopped out of the truck to run in a grab a case of beer quick. As soon as I walked in, the cashier (didn't catch his name but he was extremely obese) said what do you what? I need you to get out of here as soon as possible because you're blocking all my spots. I asked if could tell me where the shock top was, he said we don't have any. I said are you sure because I've bought it here before. He didn't even bother to look for it. Then I had trouble getting out a case of blue moon, he didn't bother to help. At checkout I said jokingly we may be taking up all your spots but at least we're making you look open. He said maybe you shouldn't be getting pissy with me lady. I said um... I'm not getting pissy with you I'm letting you know that it doesn't look like you're open. He said well it's 8:30 and the lights are on. I said they may be but it was still hard to tell until we pulled up to the front door and saw the open sign. I'm from Lake Minnetonka where there liquor stores close at 8 right now due to covid, so it was reasonable to question if a liquor store with no cars and a dark parking lot was open or not. When I walked out, I had to make two trips because he wasn't willing to help out. So I let him know that I'd be blocking his spots a little longer. However, another customer pulled up, was able to park in a spot right in front of the store. So looks like, we weren't blocking all his spots and they probably stopped there knowing they were open since our truck was in the lot. This very rude, very obese, and clearly very angry person shouldn't be working in retail. He was offensive and unprofessional. I make trips up north often because my parents live up there, and I stop here all the time on my way up. As long as this man works here, I will never stop in again. I wonder how many other customers he's turning away from this store by being that rude? I know none of my friends & family who all have cabins up north won't be stopping there anymore.
