Excellent food. The steaks melt in your mouth and the eggs are delicious. I have had nothing but positive experiences here.

The winery currently offers 3 of their own red wines - all blends. They each are unique and while still young they are very drinkable. Additionally they have several local VA wines available so you can pick sparkling, white or rose as well. There are 4 different areas inside with comfy chairs and couches or small tables where you can enjoy the wine and a large outdoor patio with beautiful views of the pasture and mountain ridge. Upstairs are several large bedrooms. We had a king room with a fireplace and huge bathroom! The summer dinner event was delicious! Natually highlighting their wagu beef and paired with their red wines! We dined at a comnunity table and had great conversations. Chef Joel prepared a wonderful meal for a perfect evening Special shoutout to Mel who has helped us multple times. She is so friendly, helpful, and professional! An asset to the Ovoka Team. She did such a great job, that we came back the next day and signed up for/paid for their annual Wagyu membership. The wines were decent, they might turn into something in the years to come - they're very new right now. The property is beautiful and historic... we really liked it. It's maintained quite nicely as well. Their beef was great! We took home some ground beef to make into smash burgers and those came out really nice. Definitely suggest stopping in if you're in the area. Give yourself time to hit the wine tasting room as well as the butcher/beef store on the hill - Both are worth the visit!

They have a good selection of various stuff to pick from like baked goods, meats, spices,…read morecondiments, etc. The ice cream selection is also very good whether you want that or a milkshake. The bar has a good selection of different wines and ciders. If anyone wants to try them, I recommend it. Every Thursday, they have open mic nights and I think the music is good. People doing covers of old country songs, rock and pop. The only thing that needs to be fixed is that there's no paper towels in the bathrooms. Just an air dryer. The toilets also need to be disinfected or replaced with new ones because it looks old inside it. Overall, this is a good place if anyone wants to come here to listen to the music and try the homemade ciders they make.

Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been completely different. The girl at the register has been consistently rude and unfriendly, and even had someone else ring me up instead of helping me herself. Most recently, I came with a friend for the haunted maze. When we asked the host where the line was, she just kept laughing and repeating "it's right there," even though there were multiple lines and it was unclear where to go. The whole interaction felt dismissive and disrespectful. It's really disappointing to see how the atmosphere has changed -- it no longer feels welcoming, especially toward Hispanic customers. I speak perfect English and was born here, but the attitude I experienced made me feel unwelcome. I won't be coming back.

Let me start with the cheesesteak. I am a firm believer that an amazing cheesesteak has to nail the 3 components: 1) quality meat, 2) gooiness of the cheese, 3) freshness of the roll. Harvey's nailed the meat. The gooiness of the cheese was inconsistent but I do like their take on their own wiz. The roll was eh. Also, the onions were just thrown into the meat instead of being car elided on the flat grill. I think what really took my by surprised was the staff. The cook seemed to be on break eating while I waited for my order. Now it was a little dead in Union Market. I showed up around 5ish on a Friday night. But I was a little caught off guard when watching the staff during the making of my sandwich. Just expected a higher standard. If I lived in the area, I love the availability of getting fresh quality cuts of meat as they have available for your viewing pleasure. Their menu of sandwiches available here still look great. But now that I've tried their cheesesteak, I don't feel the need to stop for it again.
