I have never written a review but felt compelled to write this one in the hope it will help others…read more Some years ago I developed two spots on my lower left leg. I didn't think much about it and used every ointment imaginable to treat but the spots only got worse. I then resorted to home remedies that included coating the two areas with honey and avocado. None of these treatments helped and both of these areas had now become very painful, inflamed sores that created hole like indentions in my leg. The wounds were now extremely painful 24/7, very swollen, and there was a discoloration of the skin. I didn't know what was wrong, where to go, or who could help me. I can't begin to express how blessed I was to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hayes. Someone was finally able to tell me what was wrong and how he was able to medically treat in order for the wounds to heal. He explained that I had Venous Disease and the wounds were venous ulcers that would never heal without proper medical treatment. Dr. Hayes has performed more than one vein procedure for my chronic venous insufficiency and have all been very successful. I hope this helps others who might be undergoing a similar situation. (FYI they do have heated bed for procedures which is super nice). But your hands and feet will be COLD. ESP. If they do another procedure before yours while you are laying there . Prep is COLD, too! Ahhh warm that up, lovies! Don't worry about the sour face on one of the front office staff people. It's nothing personal. I think they are just focused or something. The nurses are all friendly. (She could smile more, but whatever. She's never rude or anything, so must be a demeanor thing.) They are all down to earth and personable. Fee free to ask questions. I did not know that VARICOSE veins were the cause of the consistent pain, heaviness and swelling in my legs. Dr. Powell is calm, gentle and has great bedside manners. His team is great. I have been under their care for over three years. I am so thankful I found them. My family doctor's P. A. suggested that massages might help my pain. (I went to two different therapists. The first left me bruised and in worse pain. A week later, when the pain subsided, I went to a second one. She took one look at the back of my legs and suggested I see a vein specialist. She did not even finish my session, she did not want to cause further pain or injury. I paid and left. It was 4:00 pm. and looked online where I found that I could be seen the next morning by a vein specialist in a nearby town. That experience left me frustrated. Their first questions were about money. Although their advertisement said that an assessment was free, before the doctor saw me, I was told that I needed to schedule several procedures. The doctor saw me briefly but did not examine me, told me that I needed vein treatment and sent me back to his staff who wanted me to schedule several procedures without further explanations and talked more about money. I felt pressured and uncomfortable with their process. After more online research, I found Dr. Powell. Thank goodness for Texas Vein and Aesthetics. Dr. Powell has given me my life back. Before, leg pain prevented me from walking! Immediately after the first procedure, the heaviness and pain in the treated leg dissipated. Treatment of the other leg gave similar results. Well, I was confused as the vascular surgeon said I had none. So, I went to another vascular surgeon in Dallas and he did another sonogram and found nothing. HOWEVER, as the DFWPMA group grew, they have failed to keep reliable, efficient office help. I needed to see her once thinking I might have a kidney infection. I was told she was on vacation by whom ever answered the phone. I told them my concerns and was told she would check with the nurse and see if another physician in the practice could see me and I would be contacted that day (Wednesday). By Friday, when I still hadn't heard from her office I went to Red River Emergency Hospital and was seen. The following Monday, I got a call from Dr. Tann's nurse asking if I had a problem. JUST a little late. My sister-in-law needed a follow up mammogram and TMS is the only place in Grayson Co doing those now. Dr. Tann's office was supposed to order that procedure but it took three calls to her office to get it ordered. She and her husband also had 6 month routine wellness labs performed and were supposed to be called with the results. 3 weeks later, they still had not heard the results. My wife was prescribed an anti-depressant which she had taken in the past. The pharmacy substituted a generic for the name brand. After taking a weeks worth of the medicine, she had trouble walking and was more despondent than before. I stopped giving it to her and the problems cleared up. Several weeks later we had a televisit by Dr. Tann. She advised to try the medicine again. We did with the same results. We once again stopped it and the problems cleared up again. Upon informing Dr. Tann, she said she would re-prescribe the medication and tell the pharmacy to use name brand only and if there was a problem to let her know. We got a message from the pharmacy later that day that not only was her generic medication ready but that the Dr. had prescribed a 90 day supply. This was on a Tuesday. I called Dr. Tann's office and told whom ever answered the phone of the problem and was told the nurse would get back to me soon. As of today, Saturday, we still have not heard a thing from Dr. Tann's office! I really like Dr. Tann herself and want to keep using her, but, the office or nursing staff in either overloaded with work or is totally incompetent. Personally, I think that the Group has grown too large, too fast and hasn't paid enough attention to base structure. I would give Dr. Tann, herself an A+ but her office staff/nursing staff an F-!
