The amenities are nice, including a saltwater pool, a small gym, and a dog park. The maintenance team is excellent and always on top of things. When we moved in, the front office staff was friendly and welcoming. However, during our move-out process, we encountered new hires who did not provide the same level of hospitality and respect. Unfortunately, the new ladies in the office were snarky and disrespectful, which was disappointing. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with them while living there. Overall, I would recommend living here. The price and quality are good, and they don't require excessive income to qualify for an apartment. To the new office staff: While I won't call you out by name, I encourage you to treat people with respect. Remember, you're in a customer service role, and a positive attitude is essential for success.

I lived here for 2 years and had a mostly positive experience! The staff up front was always…read moreprofessional and quick to respond, as was maintenance. I had an issue with a toilet and maintenance came back several times over a couple of weeks. They replaced just about every part until it ended up being the whole unit replaced. They were always very friendly with my dog and considerate to my schedule as I worked nighshift. The complex is possibly one of my favorite apartments that I've lived, as it was in a great location in SATX and I enjoyed the community. I will point out a few things that dropped my review to 4 stars from 5, though these were more specific to my unit/building than the complex overall. 1. My unit recieved very little natural sunlight due to trees blocking the large windows, which honestly difficult on mental health at times. (See photo.) But that's not the fault of the staff, and I believe it was really only my unit that was affected in my building. 2. If your unit is up towards the golf course, you WILL have golf balls occasionally come to the area and hit the windows. (But hey, free golf balls) You will also likely hear music (or the bass of it) on weekend nights pretty late into the evening, it gets annoying once in a while. 3. Dog poop. Happens at most apartments, this one is one of them. So watch your step. Occasionally owners will release their dogs off leash which is annoying as well, just sometime to watch for. 4. They will repeated try to raise your rent with each renewal, despite having outdated looking apartments (5. even the "updated" ones still look 10 years old with the dark kitchens--more modern apartments have moved to whites/light grey's.) They listed my apartment online for quite a bit less than the rent I paid my second year (despite trying to raise mine again if I had renewed). Might have been worth trying to argue it, but I was moving to a new city anyways. I would have more likely moved to another local apartment instead of paying for *another* increase on a third renewal. Overall, its a good complex. I would recommend it (if you enjoy the dark colored furnishings), just maybe be a little specific to which unit you lease for to avoid the issues I mentioned.

I lived here about 4 years…read moreand upon getting my last minute orders and taking it to the front office to move out they said that the military clause requires a 30 day notice. BIG PROBLEM because we get a lot of short notice things and orders are no exception. Long story short, I ended up having to paying over 500 dollars for 15 days AFTER I ALREADY LEFT THE APARTMENT. Moving because you get stationed somewhere else to serve your country isn't easy and isn't voluntary. It not fair to have to pay extra for things out of your control AND HAPPEN OFTEN in our careers. My advice is live somewhere else with a TRUE military clause! With the rent that increased every year, and the lack of parking on the weekends -it's not worth it AT ALL!

The front office staff was very patient and helped me throughout the entire application and moving process, even waiving an administrative fee as part of a promotion. Bekkah, one of the leasing specialists at the front office, was extremely professional in helping me find an apartment that was in my budget, making sure that it had all the amenities I needed. One of the things that really wow'd me about The View were the apartment floor plans and contemporary amenities in my unit. Everything feels very modernized and is a huge step above many other apartment complexes in San Antonio. The community itself is very safe, with residents using a gate remote to drive inside, and visitors having an alternative but very secure method of contacting residents to open the gates for them. The maintenance staff are available 24/7 and always assist in a timely manner. They also have a great sense of humor too :) There are resident events that happen frequently throughout each month, which often involve food trucks or more seasonal events depending on the time of year. Covered car parking and detached car garages are affordable, with there often being a spot available close to an apartment of choice. In addition, residents have access to either on-site laundry or can rent in-unit laundry machines depending on their preference. Residents also have access to an on-site Amazon locker which keeps packages very secure. As you can tell, I really love living here and cannot recommend it enough :)

I will start by saying most of the positive reviews, if not all, are incentives. They tell all…read moreresidents to leave a review for a gift card so they're literally paying for good reviews. I will provide a detailed review of my experience. I initially worked with Kalista to get my unit and she was lovely. I never had any issues with her. However, I found Rebecca, Becca, Bekka, Bekkah (whatever her name is) very unprofessional. As well as the multiple property managers this apartment complex went through. I had heard they were prioritizing their own friends maintenance requests over actual emergencies needed by other residents from the maintenance team. This is unprofessional and I'll be sharing this with their corporate management company. My first negative encounter was being charged for not having renters insurance after 12 months despite actually having it and providing proof. To send a resident a text message saying they have to pay a mandatory fee with a smiley face is not okay. Its unprofessional. Especially when all communication regarding the matter had been done through email. I paid their fraudulent charge and they credited it back to my account without explanation or notice. This shows they don't admit their own wrongdoings. I shared concerns with landscaping that were brushed off like the fact that weeds were overgrowing onto the patio and reaching the front door! They did nothing. I shared the fact that they have flea infested stray cats roaming the property spreading fleas and they wanted to charge me for it. My own vet confirmed for me it's the apartments fault and responsibility to remediate. My pet had never had fleas before. These stray cats hang out on residents cars and on resident patios so do not move here if you have pets including indoor pets. Maintenance was okay but there were things I figured out what needed to be done to take care of recurring issues. I don't even work in maintenance so the knowledge of their maintenance team isn't great. They also led me on with saying they would replace the drip pans for free at move out only to turn around and have the front office charge me for new drip pans. This is normal wear and tear and the charge is predatory. Advice, DO NOT use the sure bond deposit. This is a way to guarantee you will owe the apartment money at move out as it is non refundable and will not go towards basic wear and tear repairs and you will pay out of pocket. They charged me over $400 for carpet cleaning at move out for a 2 bed 1 bath. I have video and image proof of the conditions which were perfectly fine and nothing beyond normal wear and tear. Its predatory and reflective of the management and company's poor values . No 2bed 1 bath cost over $400 for basic carpet cleaning. In conclusion, don't move here. Find somewhere that's ran by a responsible individual and not a predatory management company. Don't give them your hard earned money. And, yes, there are roaches.

Most of the time it's based off of one incident. Ultimately, keep in mind that not experience is the same. However, I'll share my experience about The Montecrisco. I've lived here for the last two years, and truly have no complaints. When ever an issue was given to the office, management made sure a service request was created. Shortly after the creating of the service request, one of the Service technicians came to address the issue. Even though "society" puts perfection in things, nothing is perfect. However, making sure issues get addressed is key, and that's what's they have done for me. Let's be real, some folks are just lazy and don't go the extra mile to make sure their request has been made known. Or at least attempt to trouble shoot yourselves. I digress.... I'm someone who believes in fitness, and the fact that there is a updated facility made a huge difference to me. It's 24/7 access, with the key pad. The location of the apartment complex was perfect for me. Right in the middle of wherever I needed to go. They have bomb restaurants all around. The pool area is always presentable. A good place to have a bbq or a few friends over. I like the fact that there is a chime alarm system in our apartments. That was just so cool to me lol. As far as the exterior side, by the Grace of God, I have not experienced an unsafe encounters. All management can do is set up a structure to lessen the probability of this occurring, they can't guarantee. There have been times where I've seen a SAPD Officer hanging in the lot making sure all ways well. The only reason why I'm moving is because my career is taking me to a different city. Other than that I would renew. Thank you, Montecrisco!

The space was great, the interiors were modern and updated, and everything was kept well-maintained. The maintenance staff were extremely fast when responding to requests, and when our AC went out one day, they fixed it the same day. We also got an Amazon Hub during the last year, and that was a great addition instead of having to bug the apartment staff every time we got a package. :) Although this is a huge apartment complex and the staff changed frequently, all of them were very pleasant to work with and seemed to value the residents. Since we lived on the second floor and had a large tree in front of our apartment, our electric bills were relatively cheap. We also never turned on our heat during the years we lived there, and it never got below 60. That was a nice perk! They also include washer/dryer. We did have one major complaint, which was 75% of the reason we looked to live elsewhere. We lived relatively noise free for almost 4 years, but then we had some noisy neighbors move in above us (not just directly above but also catty-corner and above us - the sound carried). The ones above us had a large dog, and there were apparently minimal restrictions on how large of dogs can live on 2nd and 3rd floors. The apartment was quick to respond when we had complaints, but there's only so much they can do. We are sensitive to sound while sleeping, and with a large dog running around above us it was hard to sleep, even with white noise (and all the other tips and tricks we tried). There were also multiple times of the neighbors allowing their dog to use the balcony as its restroom, leading to the perpetually scent of dog pee around our balcony. Also, parking can be an issue. If you get home after 7 or 8 p.m., you're guaranteed not to find a close spot by your apartment. We chose to move mostly due to the noise, and the fact that Palomino wasn't really close to either of our jobs, but we enjoyed living there!

Additionally, no one performed a walk-through with me. I specifically requested an in-person…read moremove-out inspection and was denied that opportunity. I turned in my keys on June 18, 2026. That same day, I thoroughly cleaned every inch of the apartment before surrendering possession. I was told that the final inspection would instead be completed after my official move-out date. Fine. Then, on July 9, 2026, I finally received my move-out charges--and I was shocked by what I saw. I was charged: * $15 to clean the kitchen sink * $15 to clean the bathroom sink * $20 to clean the tub/shower * $15 to clean the toilet * $25 to clean the refrigerator/freezer * $65 for carpet cleaning * $243.35 for painting On top of that, my ledger showed a $611.80 "Final Rent Balance Due," despite the fact that I had already paid my June rent on June 1. I immediately challenged the charges. I had extensively documented the condition of the apartment, so I provided the property manager, Melissa, with photographs of every room at move-out, along with photographs showing the condition of the apartment when I originally moved in. After reviewing my photos, Melissa agreed that the apartment looked better when I moved out than it did when I moved in. Eventually, after a tremendous amount of back-and-forth, I was told the disputed move-out charges would be reversed. The ledger ultimately did show reversals for the bathroom sink, tub/shower, toilet, painting, refrigerator/freezer, and carpet-cleaning charges. What should have been a straightforward correction became an unbelievably confusing and drawn-out process. Throughout this dispute, I repeatedly requested documentation explaining why these charges had been assessed in the first place. I wasn't asking for another list of charges--I wanted the actual inspection documentation showing what the person who inspected my apartment observed and why each charge was considered necessary. That documentation was never provided to me. One explanation I did receive was particularly frustrating: Melissa told me that the $25 refrigerator/freezer cleaning charge was assessed because the inspector found a single hair in the freezer. A single hair. Yet despite requesting the actual inspection paperwork supporting these charges, I was never provided with a completed inspection document explaining the condition of the unit or the basis for each fee. The $611.80 "Final Rent Balance Due" was equally confusing. I paid my June rent on June 1, yet this amount appeared on my final ledger, and I could not get a clear explanation for why I supposedly owed it. Even the manager seemed unable to explain where the charge came from. This has now been going on for weeks. It is August 10, 2026, as I sit here updating what was once a positive review of this property. I have received a refund check for only a portion of the money owed to me. I still have not received the full amount, and I am still having to contact the property trying to get clear answers about my own money. That brings me back to what may be the single most frustrating issue with this property: communication. Calling the office is nearly impossible. Calls are constantly routed through BRI, the virtual assistant, which becomes maddening when you're dealing with a complicated financial dispute and simply need to speak to an actual person. After weeks of struggling with this system, I was finally--and seemingly almost accidentally--made aware that there is a cell phone number that bypasses the automated system and provides much easier access to an actual human being. I cannot understand why this option was never provided to me earlier, especially when the office was well aware of how much difficulty I was having trying to communicate with someone about my move-out and refund. Unfortunately, even when you finally reach a human being, getting someone on the phone doesn't necessarily mean you'll get an answer. That has been the recurring theme of my experience here: no one seems to take ownership of an issue from beginning to end. You call, email, visit the office, explain the situation again, provide documentation again, and then wait. You're told someone will look into it, someone else handles it, it has been forwarded, or someone will get back to you. Then you start over. For something as basic as closing out an apartment lease, receiving an accurate final ledger, and getting the money owed back to me, this process has required an unreasonable amount of my time and effort.
