We have no problem with the techs. The biggest problem is with their communication and notification system. Last evening we got notification of service today "between 8 and 8". Really ridiculous, and emblematic of this company generally putting their schedule and convenience ahead of the customer. On other occasions, the tech insisted on coming earlier than convenient for us just "because he had finished his other jobs in the valley" and wanted to head back. Finally - the cost. We have quarterly service with monthly billing of $44, so $132 per service. This is excessive for two reasons: 1. We have never had any issues inside, so their service is only needed outside. 2. We generally have snow on the ground for two of the quarterly service, so they essentially show up and remove a few cobwebs. read more

over promis under deliver I had a disappointing experience with Hawx Pest Control. The salesman was enthusiastic, promising daily visits if needed and comprehensive pest and rodent protection backed by a strong warranty. However, after signing up, the service fell far short of expectations. The technician arrived and performed some spraying but informed me they didn't have rodent cages, despite rodent protection being a key selling point. I was told they would reschedule, but the earliest available appointment was three weeks away--contradicting the "daily if needed" promise. As of now, the rodent traps still haven't been provided. When I contacted customer service for assistance, they were unhelpful and unable to resolve my concerns or expedite the appointment. Overall, the gap between the salesman's promises and the actual service was significant. I cannot recommend Hawx Pest Control based on this experience. read more

Expect to be scammed out of your money due to fees based on false information. When we were given the sales pitch we were told it would be 40$/month for 6 months. After 9 months we noticed we were still being charged. So we promptly requested to cancel the contract. At which point we were given a response stating your contract has been canceled and we've charged you the 200$ cancelation fee. No warning, and no mention of the charge until after making it. Guy came over unannounced two mornings ago. I was charged $182+ for some unknown activity later that afternoon. I didn't authorize this visit or a charge, and the Text later in the day included the invoice and shows "N/A" where my signature should be. I reached out to the main # for my local contact, and he said he'd transfer me...but disconnected me. I called back, and no one will pick up...been on hold for 19min. So I reached out to the main office in Ogden UT. They said they had to transfer me, and I was again immediately disconnected instead. Definitely not a Stand-up company. I had an appointment for service a week ago today. I made it clear that I wanted to be here while they treated my property (I wasn't happy with the very first treatment). I even told them areas that were problematic. Last Monday would've been my second treatment. It happened that I was sick that morning, and I tried to reach Hawx to reschedule. I could not get through to them so I indicated they could call me back in queue. An 801 number (which was supposed to be them) called and I said "Hello, this is Nona" and they hung up on me. Never having reached them, Hall came and treated my property (supposedly) while I slept. He sent a detailed text message stating what all he had done, including removing all spiderwebs and treated openings around my house, etc. Well, I found three cobwebs in plain view on my front porch. I also indicated that the area above my porch on the ceiling always had mud dauber nests. There were the FOUR nests still there. I also stated that I needed my interior in the kitchen treated for ants. I have ants everywhere. Of course that didn't happen. I contacted Hall and told him he would have to come back, that he had missed quite a few things. I was very specific and I even sent him pics. I asked if I should reschedule with Hawx or would he do it? He said he would take care of it. I haven't heard from Hawx nor him. Let me say that I tried to cancel service, as well, before this last treatment. They also said I still owed them a payment for July. I had already decided that I was going to cut them loose. They insisted and then still referred me to an account manager. I told them I couldn't afford payments every month when they only treat once a quarter. They offered to reduce my payment by $10 so I agreed. I paid them and now I'm not satisfied with this last treatment. I've found 8-10 fire ant hills today and the ants are still everywhere in my home. I can do better by doing it myself. Do not do business with this company. read more

They are miserable to try to get ahold of someone to talk to. Literally every single time they were scheduled to come out I had to call and argue with customer service and threaten to quit to get put through to a manager that would actually be able to schedule on a time I was home or fit my schedule. The people who come out are great. Every single pest control person on site was amazing. Too bad their company can get the front office working the same way. I dont understand how you can give them a 3 week window of time to come out and it has to be I am going to cancel now and wait on hold to get a manager that can then manage the schedule. Multiple times however they changed the schedule to match my schedule but then canceled last minute, only to have to repeat the process. Then they sent texts and emails weekly telling me I had to sign up for another year or they will raise prices. Once they raised the price after a year of constant nagging, I finally cancelled. I just could not take the trying to find the right phone number to get an actual person and dealing with the automated systems. Didn't show and AWFUL customer service. Charged monthly and never came to service after the first 2 applications. Spent over 4 hours on 3 phone calls escalating to various managers and was promised on all three calls that the local Ogden manager, James, would call or come service the property himself and he never did. They would not refund for all of the months February until July that they never showed up and instead would only give me a credit to my account, but then they wouldn't come and actually service the property to use the credit. One of the times that they promised service. I actually stayed home all day and was promised that someone would be here by 10 AM. I kept checking in every hour after 10 and they kept on telling me "Oh he's close, he'll be there within an hour" and by 5 PM no one had came. I missed an entire day of work. When I called customer service the next day, they said that the person that was supposed to have come to service the property hadn't shown up for work the day before so the entire time that someone was texting me and saying that someone was coming, they actually didn't even know if the guy was ever going to show up for work that day. Come to find out that is not true. Cancelation fee is $200 so I'm stuck paying $240 for services on an apartment I don't live at anymore because the salesperson lied. Do not sign any contract they give you without going through it. Salesperson was very pushy probably to prevent people from reading the fine print. As you will see in other reviews... they are violating the new FTC ruling of "Click to Cancel". i.e. Hawx makes it VERY difficult to cancel your account. To cancel they said I had to talk to an account mgr...none were available and none ever called me back. It took over 2 weeks to finally get it canceled and in the mean time they said I owed another month's payment. I had zero help from local and corporate customer service... so I've now created a BBB complaint, Attorney General complaint and I'm contacting a lawyer. read more

Canceled after 4 years of just ok service. They've since claimed that you have to call to cancel (I did and that's not in my agreement) and are ignoring the fact I did. Let them know via text and email that I did cancel and did not want service. They've been trying to charge a card so my credit card company had to step in to prevent it, despite providing them no service. Just as others have reported, the Hawx representative told me I could cancel anytime. What he didn't say was how much it would cost to cancel. They quoted one price for service, then when I asked about the price for the second service, it was double! When I called, the phone rep stated that the reasonable cost was only for the initial service. The chemicals used aren't very effective, which is likely why they charge to terminate the contract. Today was our first visit and so far I have no complaints. Duncan was professional and friendly. He took time to explain what he was doing and ask if there were any concerns or areas I wanted him to focus on. After I expressed concerned we made a plan together and he made sure that worked for me. He also made sure to explain to me to keep my dog away from the spray area for at least an hour and even asked if I'd like to take her out before he got started. I thought that was very courteous of him and I appreciated it greatly. I hope our relationship continues to be a positive one and that the treatment works as well as they claim! read more

After selling my home, and moving in to a lease, I assumed canceling my pest control services would be straightforward. Instead, they used aggressive methods to prevent me from ending the agreement--even though my HOA already provides pest control services. I've spent hours on the phone, only to be met with resistance, condescension, and a complete disregard for my time and circumstances. I NEVER leave negative reviews, but this company has pushed me to the limit. Frankly, a one-star review is far too kind for the level of frustration and stress they have caused me. I have been with this pest control service for 4 months and they will not let me out of my contract. I keep calling and asking for cancelations or customer service and they keep you on hold for 45 mins to an hour and never answer. I have ants all over my kitchen and have killed multiple spiders all over my house. When I called to see if they could come back out before even thinking about canceling they gave me the run around and sent me pictures of what the field agent had done while he was out. Shady businesse practices. Pest control services were mediocre for the 1 year i committed to. Called to cancel due to lack of money( been off work for 4 months for medical). The lady offered a courtesy service for July and said I could call back at a later date if I wanted to continue service. They came out for the final time in July and I thought that was the end of it. Then I get texts and emails in mid August that I owe money. I call them Sept. 2nd and tell them I have already called and canceled, I do not want service I should not owe any money and the lady said ok ill close out the account and take care of the balance. 2 weeks later(today) I get a text and email says I still owe money. I called they said their management looked at the account and decided the 39 dollar charge was still valid for the month of August. I got very irritated, paid the 44(oh yeah, 5$ late fee to) so these idiots don't send me to collections and now I'm writing this review to warn others of management's shady business practices. This company is a fraud and should be investigated and closed by the state. The salesperson that came by my property fraudulently represented to me that he was the owner of the company. He told me that he would personally take care of my property (I was experiencing problems with mice) and offered me the "friends and family discount" after we bonded over shared circumstances. He promised me things that the company he "owned" failed to deliver because as it turned out, he was just a greasy salesman looking for a commission rather than an owner of the company. They were okay with pest control. They forgot to check the bait traps most of the time and finally came back out to refill them. The major problem is trying to cancel the service. I didn't realized that I had signed a 3 year contract. So I was billed $199 which I paid just to get rid of them. They have a monthly billing and unfortunately in their portal they do not show what payments are being applied to which date of service. They also changed up the way they do their quarters December is the first month for the first quarter of the next year.... so for me they did a service 12.31.2024 then didn't come back until 05.05.2025. So nothing for 4 months but they consider it both quarters of 2025.... Now for payment. My payments for the services were the month of the service then the next to months to cover the $120. So December's service was covered by the December, January and February payments. They continued to take payments for March, April, and May which should have covered the May service. They then took June, July and August payments. I canceled in July 2025 but they still took August's payment. I was able to get my bank to take that money back because it was after the service was canceled. So now they have $80 that has not been applied to a service and they are billing me an extra $40. I have called and the people I get on the phone do not understand how this all works. When I ask what service my payments are being applied to they just keep reiterating that it is a monthly bill. They also will not let me escalate or talk to anyone other than the frontline people who have very little training on how billing works. read more

My experience with Hawx Pest Control has been nothing short of a nightmare. Working with this company has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences of my life. Hawx is supposed to provide quarterly services and offer additional visits when needed. After the first initial treatment, I had to request a second treatment soon after because it didn't kill any spiders around my house. I didn't know that I had to babysit and schedule my appointments in order to get the next service. It was completely missed. When I finally realized that they hadn't come in a while, I called, and they preceded to tell me that it was my fault because I should of call sooner. They then schedule what should be my third treatment, but it has now been change twice and I have yet to receive it. I called customer service and asked to cancel because I felt they had breached our contract. I shouldn't be charged for services that I have not receive especially when it is because of their incompliance. They proceeded to tell me that if I canceled, I would loss all the money that I paid already, and a $200 cancelation fee would be charged. As of today, I have paid this company $244 and am still getting charged a monthly fee of $39 but only the first service has been received. read more
