Avoiding any estate sale run by this company like the plague. The two women who worked at the sale were strict but fair. Nathan (the owner I believe) is extremely aggressive, disrespectful and downright childish. My wife had asked him about checking if the grill outside was working (we even bought our own gas to do so) and he threatened to kick us out for even asking the question. When my wife suggested it wouldnt hurt to be a little nicer to people, he proceeded to berate and mocking her (does he run the business too like he is in middle school?) as we were walking away. Never again. Plenty of other good, respectful well-run estate sale businesses we rather engage with. Edit (Responding to the manager's reply) - we bought about 35/40$ worth of stuff, not 100$. And we did it in a polite and respectful manner, took the things we bought and walked away. Nathan gave you the incomplete story - he waved at us from the garage while we were loading the car right after he chose to mock and insult us. And from the responses below, I can tell that your business is not open to critical feedback. Do not worry about our license plate, like I said before we are avoiding you like the plague. I work with hundreds of auction houses throughout the country and overseas and Nathan Hawks/Hawks Helpers actually wins first place to unprofessionalism, rudeness and argumentative. Never go to this companies Estate sales. The Guy that runs it will make people leave if he doesn't like you, like it's back in the 50's and give you no reason and then laugh at you when you ask. They gave me no reason and walked away when I asked to tell me why. I thrift 100% for my work. Self employed and walk in and out of Estate Sales and never been treated like that by NO ONE EVER. I've bought many items from this company and have been very pleased with my purchases. The pictures have been accurate. Pick up runs very smoothly. And on heavy items Hank has always offered to help me, or carry it himself to my car which is very much appreciated. I would not hesitate in buying from them again. read more

BEWARE! Hostile, Obscene, Predatory and bait and switch Con Artists. Employee at the door was hostile, obscene, and unprofessional. While waiting in the rain, in the line to get in, the employee allowed 10 people to enter and then restricted entrance. When the woman next to me respectfully asked for clarification as to the capacity policy, the employee started yelling at her and calling her filthy names. When other customers tried to intervene, this employee became even more hostile, with more obscenities and refused entrance to 10+ customers (who were all in shock). I was very uncomfortable and felt sorry for the people who were turned away. When I entered the sale, 10 minutes after it began, all furniture and other valuables that were photographed numerous times in their ads had already been removed from the house. Plus, the items that were left were priced higher than brand new retail prices. When I approached to ask about the furniture and other valuables, I was then verbally attacked and told to leave. STAY AWAY FROM HAWK HELPERS ESTATE! They have no interest in making $ for the family who hired them. read more

I had a similar experience as many other folks here. At pick up I asked a simple question about my lots (there were many)- after i asked, I realized I already had the answer so I said, 'I'm sorry, you already said that" - this was met with an aggressive, condescending response and it spiraled from there. My items were thrown onto the table and I continued to be yelled at while trying to collect my items, as I walked away I was cussed at a few times (F*** you, etc, etc.). I was told I would be blocked from their auction site - which, don't waste your time here, I don't plan to ever purchase anything from this company again. This is not all a loss to me, as there are plenty of better folks to do business with (and too bad for ya'll, as I buy a lot at auction) Who I think it hurts the most is the individuals who trust you to sell their items - unfortunately it won't be me - or anyone else here leaving reviews- wanting to buy anything from this company. read more

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY - Auction and house clearing scheduled to start Monday July 1st. Nathan of Hawk Helpers is the most abusive bully and unprofessional person I have ever experienced. He changed the agreed upon dates of service to Sunday June 30th and was verbally abusive and berating when I was trying to work with them. They allege I broke the contract when in fact they broke the contract by changing the agreed upon dates and stating to me 'why would we want to help you?' after I hung up the phone because he was being abusive. After multiple abusive calls with Nathan, I was told to get my 'crew' in gear and get the move done. He was unwilling to listen and I was told, 'I don't want to hear your excuses.' I was finally able to say, the 'crew' you are referring to is me. My brother and mother are both physically and mentally disabled and I am doing this huge project alone. Seller agreed to reduce the cancellation fee from $1,500 to $1,000 via our mutual contact / real estate agent. He is now once again going back on his agreement and demanding the full $1,500. read more

I am grateful that I found Hawk's Helpers. They took a huge burden off of me during a difficult time. My dad was recently hospitalized and we quickly realized he would not be able to return to his home. We needed to get dad's house ready to sell, and my brother and I both live out of state so we needed help. My dad collected a lot of stuff over the years, and as he aged he didn't keep up with the cleaning as he should have. There was a lot of junk, broken appliances, and other clutter left in the house. He lives about an hour outside of Denver in a small mountain town where it can be difficult to find anyone willing to provide services. We needed more than a little help. Despite all of these challenges, Nathan and his team were amazing! I did a virtual tour with Nathan and Darby to show them the scope of work, and they gave me a quote the same day. On the agreed upon day, they arrived on time and finished up in just one day! They even swept the garage. When they finished, they gave me a virtual tour. The house looks great! The cabinets, pantry, refrigerator, and closets were emptied. The 4 car garage was empty. The rooms were cleared, and the items I asked to be left there were still there. My dad's neighbors were on site to let the crew in, and they called the team jewels and that they were worth 10 gold stars. Thank you, Nathan and team. You all are rock stars! read more

Estate sale shoppers beware! After being at one of Hawk's Helpers' in-house sales for 20+ minutes and putting several items I intended to purchase on the hold table, I was approached by Nathan, the owner of the company. He began screaming at me saying that I needed to leave for absolutely no reason. He proceeded to bring out his phone and take video of me walking through the house, aggressively threatening to call the police because I am a "resaler" (aka reseller), as though that is a crime. I was quite frightened by his erratic behavior, and other customers inside the house were shocked. After scrolling through their Yelp reviews, it seems this is pretty typical behavior at Hawk's Helpers estate sales. Scary is an understatement! read more

I guess we are the latest victims to people selling things from this address. We came in contact with these crooks on Facebook market place. We bought a small boat motor. On arrival they had the motor sitting out of course we needed a way to test it. We asked the lady she said she had no way to test it. My husband walked out of sight around the car to hooked it to my auxiliary battery. I handed her the money and walked over to check on my husband. No power from the motor. I looked up and she had ran inside and locked the door. I tried texting Darby Zufall to let her know with no response. SHE also immediately took the Facebook post down so I couldn't review her. They are very aware of what they agree doing. So my husband knocked on the door. Nathan who we had never seen nor met came outside screaming get off my property you blew my motor. We called the police and of course nothing could be done. We were advised to take them to smalls claims over $40. Just save yourself the head ache and avoid these people. They are obviously pretty hard up to be scamming people over less than $100. I'm only taking the time to write this review after seeing how many people they have scammed. LEGIT RUN!!! read more

I was asked to leave an estate sale yesterday because I touched something not realizing there was a sign saying not to. There was a lady standing across the table yelling "don't touch, don't touch, don't touch." I was really shocked I was being yelled at by one lady and then by two ladies! So at that point I said with an attitude, "I was actually going to buy this!" And that's when I was asked to leave, "you need to leave. You need to leave now!" I was so confused these two women were treating me so badly and from the start. But I left. And I will NEVER go to any estate sale run by Hawks Helpers. Wouldn't it have been smarter and safer to have a table full of items so delicate and rare to be in a place other than close to the entrance of the house with a "sign" below the items on the table saying,"don't touch?" read more

I had a family member in Denver that passed away and I needed assistance. I do not live in the area but flew in to handle what I could. I wasn't sure if the items were enough to have an estate sale or what I should do. I called Hawk's helpers because I researched and saw they handle it all. I knew I would be able to get some professional answers from an experienced company. I talked with Nathan on the phone and we scheduled a time when I got to town for them to come see the house. Nathan and Darby arrived on time and were extremely nice. Not only did they explain the details of how they come up with what they can do they were also really nice and enjoyable all around. It was very pleasant meeting two people that truly love what they do. After we walked through the estate they said they would be in touch with a plan. When they called they explained it wasn't enough for an estate sale but it was still nicer items. They were going to do a buyout for me. This meant they were going to write me a check for a portion of what they can sell it for and come clear the house in a day. I thought that was such a smart thing to offer because I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs help but doesn't have enough for a full sale. They scheduled it out and when they would be doing it I would already be out of town. They assured me that was no issue. They worked with the realtor to get access to the property and kept me informed the whole time. By 4 pm that day they were completely done and sent me pictures of an empty house! Truly, they are awesome! I would refer them to anyone that has any situation. They seem to be able to handle it all and I would trust them! Unfortunately this is the first poor experience I've had with any reseller. I purchase items pretty regularly and am familiar with the relatively strict pickup schedules and instructions. Hawks Helper's had a pickup time between 12-5 during which they were not present at the house. I called multiple times over a 30 minute period, emailed and rang the doorbell none of which did they respond to. Later in the day I received an email via Auction Ninja at which point I was no longer in the area so requested a refund since they were not present at the pickup time which they set. They denied this request and lied about being present at the pickup time if this were true then why didn't they answer the doorbell, knocks or phone calls? I've picked up from this location before and know that I was at the correct address. Overall Hawks Helper's has very poor customer service and is unreliable for picking up your already paid for items. read more

I was asked to leave after they heard me commenting aloud that several of the items were priced higher than you could buy them for new at the store. There were some good deals, but used or new in box items for sale higher than in store was off putting. I drove 30 miles for an opportunity at a deal, what a waste. read more

I would warn anyone from ever hiring Hawk's Helpers. I came across a post on Facebook marketplace about a bunch of free stuff. They had not sold a ton of stuff from an estate sale so they were giving it away. I reached out because I collect many things for the homeless. The post stated it would start at 10:30 am the very next morning (July 14) in Westminster around 104th & Sheridan. The man told me to send a message in the morning & he would give me the address. I left my house around 32nd & Sheridan & headed that direction. I sent a message at 9:58 stating I was on my way. I parked at the rec center till I got a response. I finally got the address & went to the house. When I arrived their were cars & people everywhere, it was 10:22 am. A dirty long hair man approached my vehicle. I was still looking at everyone & asked, "is this the estate sale?" He said, "Yes!! come on what do you need I'm extremely busy here?" I fumbled over my words & said, "Homeless, I'm here for the homeless stuff". He points to a small pile of stuff & tells me I can go through what's left. I said, "Wait, what!?!" He tells me, "yeah their are 4 trucks here grabbing stuff". I said, "but it's not even 10:30 yet". "I thought it started at 10:30"? At that point he gets furious & yells, "Go on, leave". Again I'm like, "what!?!". Completely in shock & confused. "Go on, get out of here, just go"!!! He's yelling at me in front of everyone. He's walking away, waving his hands, yelling at me to, "get out of here". I have no idea what happened this morning. I would never want anyone to experience what I went through. I used my gas to drive all the way up there trying to collect things for the homeless & instead I got screamed at & humiliated in front of a bunch of strangers. What kind of company employs such mentally unstable individuals? Stay far away from this company. You never know what could set this man off. read more

Attended Hoarder Larkspur Estate Sale on 8/20 & 21. Nathan Hawk and his team were welcoming, supportive and accomodating in a most challenging physical environment. This was my first experience with this team and I came away impressed with their overall responsiveness and willingness to assist with transporting the bigger items to my vehicle. Nathan, maybe I didn't make myself clear. I was not with the girl who didn't have the booties on, I had never seen her in my life. I, along with the companion I was shopping with did have booties on. I was just observing the chaos that went on. We went to an estate sale recently by this company. We've been to a couple other sales of theirs. Most items are grossly overpriced compared to other estate companies, but there are a deal here or there. At this particular sale, people were required to wear booties in the house. Maybe some people didn't see the sign because suddenly the man who works at Hawks helpers comes in the house and starts yelling at people. There was one girl in particular that didn't have booties on that asked if there were booties at the door because there had not been when she come in. He yelled at her that they were getting more and to take her shoes off in the meantime (she did not have socks on). She promptly walked out the door and went into the garage where he came out there yelling, screaming and harassing her along with others to "get out, GET OUT" Completely raising chaos and making a scene. It was a very negative environment after that. Everyone felt awkward. We left and won't be back to any of their sales. read more

After the estate sale was done and we moved the rest of our stuff with another company, and we inspected what we got moved to our new house, I noticed some big problems. There were some valuable things that didn't make it to our new house (some of my classic book collection, etc, were they sold?), and some ugly scrapes and dings on some of our priceless wood furniture that were heirlooms to my husband and I. Then I noticed we were charged for some things that I thought I had made it clear that didn't need to be done. When I complained to Nathan about it he got very agitated and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, almost like it was my fault. He did not resolve the problems, buy only became aggressive, cussed at me, and made me feel worse. My husband was absolutely disgusted. We may have to explore legal means to get compensated. I think the general employees who work for Hawk's are nice but this business owner has a serious anger problem, (and management problem) and shouldn't be running a company where he needs to do customer service. I'm telling all who read this to AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. We deserved better and so do you! Also, just check out all the negative hidden reviews here on yelp... don't know why they are hidden but they show a very bad pattern. read more

When my mom passed we had difficulty finding a company to clean the house out. Wasn't really enough good stuff for an estate company. One of them, with some reluctance suggested Hawks Helpers. We agreed on a price, date and items that were not included for them. Signed the contract and got on with it. They did clean the property out entirely which made us happy and most of the crew was pleasant during this somewhat emotional event. Except. Nathan. About three in the afternoon he blew up on us with the most profanity laden tirade I think I've ever heard. Personal assaults. Demanding more money. Claiming items that were never for them to take including a murphy bed, which is attached to the house. Screaming, throwing F-bombs and SOB's and GD's. This must not have been the first time because some of the crew would walk by and apologize to us. Nathan is not mentally stable and I would not allow him on my property had I any idea. I wound up writing him another check just to get this lunatic off the property. To bad for the rest of the crew. Do not hire this outfit. read more
