They helped sort collections, and even tested some items in online sales to see if there was demand. Their experience with everything from antiques and collectibles to furniture to everyday household items was impressive. They helped group similar items together to create themed auctions, and then identified other items for an on-site sale. When I looked through the auction listings, I didn't recognize some of the items because of how fantastic the photos and lighting were. They handled the pickup, photography, selling, shipping, and the accounting for the sales. Without their compassion, dedication, and tenacity, I would still be sorting through everything. I can't recommend Colorful Colorado Estate Sales enough. The will the only estate sales company I will ever use.

I have read several of the comments and I agree with the negative points. I have been to 2 of…read moretheir estate sales. On the first one, I did see that they were slow, the second time same thing. This last time it took about 40 min to get inside the door and wait time at checkout was about 40 min. The head lady at checkout is the owner I assume. She yelled out several (3-4?) times to the front door keeper "don't let anyone else in"... "if you let someone else in....". I'm thinking wow - she doesn't want more customers in the mostly empty house. She doesn't get it that the hold-up is HER and her methods. They write down the item prices on a piece of paper, then add the items up on a calculator. I think if they had a register it would be more efficient. Or maybe someone going through the line and adding up prices before getting to checkout. Very very very inefficient. She even told one customer, "just put the SHIT on the floor", because the table was getting crowded. She said to one customer - "we are not incompetent, we are just frustrated". She's the owner and she has control of how things work. I think she just doesn't know a better way to operate with high volume of people. There was at least 5 workers there - 2 at checkout, 1 door keeper, 1 guy in garage, 1 lady floating around. I have been to many estate sales over the past year with about 12 companies that I keep a record of - for prices and overall experience so I have a good basis to rate them. I would NEVER hire her for a sale - the home owner will likely lose out on sales. Ok but with all that said, she does offer fair prices on most items. I think it was the 3rd day with 50% off. We spent 2 hrs there, mostly in line waiting. If you see something and want to spend hours there it could be worth your time. Overall experience - this company gets a 1.

This estate seller, Jackie, seemed to be overwhelmed with her job as estate sale organizer. The…read moresale process was extremely lengthy, with customers waiting in line for 90 minutes on the first day and thten an additional 30 minutes to check out (and that was even over an hour past sale start time). Time aside, however - this estate sale company gave me some really strange vibes and I would never hire a company like theirs to handle my estate due to their unprofessional manner. They made disparaging comments about the property owners to sale customers, and also seemed to be venting their own personal frustration on customers as well. They also had a case of "precious" items (sterling and the like) which was sitting right next to the sale runner at the checkout table, with a blanket covering the top. Although many people asked about it, they never did offer any of it up for sale, stating it "wasn't worth [her] time to price it', as "[she] only had a very small scale and since the price of silver had changed so much recently, [she'd] just 'take it to her guy'". Really unfortunate for the estate owners; I can't imagine how much they might have lost out on due to this company's priorities.

I contacted numerous estate companies, trying to schedule a sale. Many of these companies were booked months out. Because my parents had lived in their home for 50 years, I was told by these estate people that everything was too old and it wasn't worth their time. After almost giving up, I heard about a smaller company named A New Life LLC. I decided to try 1 more time and contacted Tim McDowell, which owns the company. He came in and looked around and said "I will give it a shot. " he and his employees came in and quickly priced and organized everything. They had the sale the following week and made more money than we thought. Tim and his employees were very professional and considerate. I really appreciate Tim for taking on this "impossible task". I would recommend this company to others.
