Colorful Colorado Estate Sales was beside me the entire way, from sorting through everything and identifying treasures to selling online and on site to the accounting for the sales. They helped sort collections, and even tested some items in online sales to see if there was demand. Their experience with everything from antiques and collectibles to furniture to everyday household items was impressive. They helped group similar items together to create themed auctions, and then identified other items for an on-site sale. When I looked through the auction listings, I didn't recognize some of the items because of how fantastic the photos and lighting were. They handled the pickup, photography, selling, shipping, and the accounting for the sales. Without their compassion, dedication, and tenacity, I would still be sorting through everything. I can't recommend Colorful Colorado Estate Sales enough. The will the only estate sales company I will ever use.

This last time it took about 40 min to get inside the door and wait time at checkout was about 40 min. The head lady at checkout is the owner I assume. She yelled out several (3-4?) times to the front door keeper "don't let anyone else in"... "if you let someone else in....". I'm thinking wow - she doesn't want more customers in the mostly empty house. She doesn't get it that the hold-up is HER and her methods. They write down the item prices on a piece of paper, then add the items up on a calculator. I think if they had a register it would be more efficient. Or maybe someone going through the line and adding up prices before getting to checkout. Very very very inefficient. She even told one customer, "just put the SHIT on the floor", because the table was getting crowded. She said to one customer - "we are not incompetent, we are just frustrated". She's the owner and she has control of how things work. I think she just doesn't know a better way to operate with high volume of people. There was at least 5 workers there - 2 at checkout, 1 door keeper, 1 guy in garage, 1 lady floating around. I have been to many estate sales over the past year with about 12 companies that I keep a record of - for prices and overall experience so I have a good basis to rate them. I would NEVER hire her for a sale - the home owner will likely lose out on sales. Ok but with all that said, she does offer fair prices on most items. I think it was the 3rd day with 50% off. We spent 2 hrs there, mostly in line waiting. If you see something and want to spend hours there it could be worth your time. Overall experience - this company gets a 1.

The…read moresale process was extremely lengthy, with customers waiting in line for 90 minutes on the first day and thten an additional 30 minutes to check out (and that was even over an hour past sale start time). Time aside, however - this estate sale company gave me some really strange vibes and I would never hire a company like theirs to handle my estate due to their unprofessional manner. They made disparaging comments about the property owners to sale customers, and also seemed to be venting their own personal frustration on customers as well. They also had a case of "precious" items (sterling and the like) which was sitting right next to the sale runner at the checkout table, with a blanket covering the top. Although many people asked about it, they never did offer any of it up for sale, stating it "wasn't worth [her] time to price it', as "[she] only had a very small scale and since the price of silver had changed so much recently, [she'd] just 'take it to her guy'". Really unfortunate for the estate owners; I can't imagine how much they might have lost out on due to this company's priorities.

I ended up with a few Native American pieces I'm excited about, things I wouldn't have found easily elsewhere. There was a long line, and the house was packed and felt chaotic at times, but that usually means there's a sale worth seeing. Parking was also challenging. Even with the crowds, things moved as smoothly as could be expected. In the end, it was worth it, and I'll wait in line again for a sale like this.

Adam will tell you he is buying items but will not tell you for how much, and never show you how he paid for them. They hold the sale for two 6 hour days. Then send pictures of the money orders that is your profit. The contract says you will receive the money within 15 days after the sale. But it doesn't show up. showing you money orders tells me that they are trying to run a cash business off the books.

In spite of being told the company is ranked #1 and the owner/operator has a high level of experience in antiques, collectibles, and fine art - the majority of my recently deceased mother's valuable fine art. collectibles, and antiques were sold for $30 or less - at least this is what was reported to me, there are no receipts from the sales. I was charged a high upfront fee and 35% of the profit which leaves my portion to be less than what I paid for the job. I discovered several of the items sold on Craigslist and eBay after being told by the owner that he has his own "site/online audience" and deep connections with antique and art dealers around the country. Additionally, he strung out the agreed upon 30 day sales to extend over 3 months with little to no communication unless I reached out. I was never asked if I would accept $25 for a high value art/antique - the sales was made with no communication. I am still waiting to receive the miniscule funds earned from the sale, there is always an excuse as to when/why payment has not been received. The entire experience has destroyed my trust and compounded my grief process. I post this in hopes others will not be fooled as I have been.
