Yeah Called for a taxi on 28 of March at 19:50pm and the Lady on the phone very very rude and not apropritte answer was given to me, i was finding my way around to give her the location where i was and was saing to her give me a second to check where i am and she was so angry and a very nervous voice of her and she just hang up. I have used this company and the drivers are very good and respected What a shame, this company should know what people to hire. Féd up with unreliable service and rude phone operator so have recently switched to trying Uber with much more positive results so far- much easier to book, reliable service and friendly drivers. Shame not to be able to support local taxi firms but Hawk Express need to improve their customer service or they will continue to lose customers. read more

Had my house threatened at 6.30am in the morning by a hawk express driver. Ordered a taxi for 5.45am to Ipswich bus station as my bus was at 6.10am. Taxi never arrived untill 6.20am with an abusive hawk express driver who threatened my home and my family because I had to arrange alternative transport because he was 35 minutes late. Phoned hawk express and they did literally nothing about this. Had to give all information to the police as the a violent threat was made to my home, my partner and my children. Consider using a professional company who vet all thier drivers because hawk express do not. The driver are unstable and unpredictable. read more

I use Hawk about 4 times a week, hav no problem, but 2day i phoned at 10 o'clock am to book a taxi for 12 o'clock and I'm still waiting and it's now 1 o'clock, i have booked a father's day meal, now I'm going to be late, sorry to rant on, but disappointed. read more

I received a message after booking a taxi that a blue toyota prius is already outside to pick us. however, the taxi was not there so I called the operator but as I am still talking, she just cut off the call saying that the taxi is on the way. The driver was neither friendly nor helpful at all as well. very bad customer service. do not book. read more

if I could rate Hawk Express 0 stars I would. They constantly don't turn up when you've booked i.e. more than 24 hours in advance and the answer when you ring up is 'there just isn't any cars available' its not good enough. Absolute rubbish. read more

Commensurate with the majority of reviews here, Hawk staff (not the drivers I must say but the office staff) in my recent experience are rude, arrogant, unreliable, aggressive and continue to let down (I don't have time to fully share my latest disaster with them!). Try Cab Smart. read more

Hawk is always late I have booked cabs and they arrive half an hour late and seem to think thats ok . I call depot and they say it's on its way or we are waiting to release cabs . I book the night before so that surely isnt difficult. Badly managed . read more

Absolutely appalling service. Having booked a minibus a week in advance and confirming it the morning of needing it one would assume our taxi would arrive on time. Half an hour later than expected and 20 minutes of non answered calls to the office, one 4 seater car turned up for 7 people. The driver said another would be on its way. With babysitters and children to get back to, we were all a bit anxious to get collected. 4 of us set off home in the first cab with the promise of another arriving any minute. It wasn't until several more non answered phone calls were made and another hour had passed that the rest of our party were picked up - at half past midnight. Prebooked 2 cabs the day before, to take our Group to and from a wedding. First cab didn't show up and after calling the office twice they tried to tell us they were very busy and the car would be another 10/15 mins (they were already 15 mins late). We ended up having to drive ourselves to the venue and were late due to the fact we were waiting for them for so long. coming back they were 50 mins late To pick us up!! Needless to say we had to make our own way back as well. AWFUL CAB COMPANY. not sure why they allow you to pre book cabs if they don't show up on time. Added so much stress to our day when we had taken time to be organised so we would not be stressed. office staff and drivers could not have cared less. Awful experience twice now, first was to get my cat home after an operation, pre booked and taxi did not arrive. No other companies free so I managed to walk home with a struggle. Then a message an hour later as I got home saying my taxi had arrive!! Then tonight precooked to collect me after doing some shopping, at 7pm I called and a car was assigned with a 2 minute eta, I waited and nothing so called five minutes later and back to no taxi so spoke to the operator who just gave excuses of accidents in the area yet traffic was flowing well as I waited for the taxi. I was told it would be another 30 minutes in freezing weather, then suddenly she said a taxi was three minutes away and hung up. Nothing arrived and so I called back and no taxi. So I was lied to and just shows this taxi company does not care about its customers. read more

Oh dear! I have used this firm for years, regularly. The drivers have always been friendly and helpful BUT I had a dreadful experioence today with the woman operating the phone line. I lost a valuable brooch today, a lot ofvalue in money and I am a pensioner, not well off, but more so sentimental value , you know how things your Mum or Gran hand down mean so much? I had it I think, when I got into a Hawk cab, but not when I got out. It is possible it fell on a pavement I am not saying it was definitely in the cab, the driver actually was particularly pleasant. On calling to find if my brooch had been found, I was met with hostility and told that there was no way they knew whether the brooch had been found in a car or not 'Because drivers are not allowed to say' I wanted my brooch but I also wanted info to tell the insurance company who will cross question me about the loss and I will lose my no claims. If the brooch was safe was it too much to tell me? You would think a normal woman would have been at least a little understanding, the first thing out of my mouth was ' I am sorry to bother you" but I got downright aggression, bit like you know, when you have a nice doctor but one of those dragon ladies on reception. I am elderly and disabled, all the drivers have always helped me so much but I will not use Hawk again, I know they couldn't care less but my money is very tight, I will not spend it where I meet with a nasty attitude. Some people are just not fit to deal with the public I have always found everyone else on the phone here very nice, I guess there is always one!! read more

I use this firm very regularly and have always had nothing but friendly drivers that make me feel comfortable but had a very bad experience tonight with one of the drivers forcing me to draw money out because "the card readers aren't effective after midnight" even though I always get taxis after midnight and have never had a problem but not even telling me that you are stopping at a cash machine at 2am with nobody around and telling me I need to draw money out is scary really has knocked my confidence in using taxis to get home from work late at night read more

Cannot leave a star rating worse taxi firm (Driver) I have used will never use again. Airport journey they sent a cab it smelt of cigarette smoke, (this is illegal in a public transport vehicle) the driver got lost coming out of my road, took us 16 miles out of our way by heading for Gatwick then Heathrow. He drove with the window open most of the way to stay awake, braked sharply three times as not concentrating on road (tired ) as well as using his mobile phone. Complained to the company ( John Lloyd) the JOKER did not even apologise just said 'I have taken him off the airport run' an gave me a number to call if I want to complain about the smoking to Ipswich Borough Council. Would NOT USE especially if you have children to take in vehicle, if this is the manager and driver attitude. Left one star to be able to post read more

consistently late and fares which vary from day to day - quite how hawk have held on to their license to operate private hire vehicles for so long is beyond me. they pride themselves on their fixed fares and yet i can do the same journey every day for a week and be charged five different prices!! Agree price with driver before you set off then there will be nasty surprises. And yes, if you ring them and book a cab and it's essential - keep on them as they have a habit of not showing. miraculously the cabs are always 5 minutes away. best i have every had is 3 no shows and after 5 calls assuring me cab was just 5 minutes away i phone another company and only to see their cab just arriving - not bad 70 minutes after i booked it and this is from town centre location too!!! read more
