The reviews warned everyone that it's a cozy place... yes, they're correct! As soon as I was organized enough, I drove over and parked in the paid parking lot behind the building since the metered street parking was full. The reviews warned everyone that it's a cozy place... yes, they're correct! There were two female clerks. Each of them was helping a customer... not bad! There are long lines at other post offices! Soon, it was my turn! The helpful, polite clerk was very efficient and explained everything as she went through my pile. Thank you very much for telling me that my friends should receive the mail by December 24th! Whew! Just made it!

Almost all if they had the self serve kiosk I'd be a regular at this Kaimuki location where it's almost hidden amongst the many biz it's surrounded by which is very easy to miss but with the OG blue mailbox that's placed right outside it does give the nostalgia of the days we mailed our seasonal items. With that I did need to send a box to a friend and needed a box which of course they have besides the generic I love the priority mail box packaging with the flat rate makes it easy to put whatever you need which was there for me along with the prices of what each box are. Right beside that they do have a area where you're able to pack/write or do whatever you need all nice and clean where I noticed a buck of flowers and noticed that they were pens...lol! regular ballpoint and sharpies as well that was a lovely touch to have but there was one thing that I did forget...tape...sigh! There was no line at all and I could've shipped my items but one little major bump in plans that made me frustrated but know that I have a convenient spot outside of the busy locations is here and love that it's a local residential spot. Thank you!

If you're naturally paranoid of cops like I am, these guys will freak you the hell out!…read more No one told me about how cops in Hawaii can use their own personal vehicles. Wow, that was a surprise. Normal looking family car one minute, then the next minute the guy lights me up. What the hell? You can't tell where the dang cops are until they're all up in your business. Not cool. And no one told me how the cops in the actual marked cruisers drive around with their blue lights on. Like, all the time. I guess some police departments do this as a safety policy. But I had never heard of that before visiting Hawaii. Every time a cop got behind me with his lights on I thought I was being pulled over, so I'd immediately start looking for somewhere to hide my stash. OK, so I didn't really have any stash to hide, but having a cop with his lights on behind me reminded me of back in the day when I did. So, see officer, no disrespect intended. I'm just writing this little review so mainlanders that come after me will know the score. I went to station with hopes of trading work patches but unfortunately got left outside the door with an incredibly rude "No, we dont do that". Ive been to numerous departments worldwide and all of them graciously take me in as a work professional. Believe me when I say, THE HONOLULU POLICE DEPARTMENT IS SO UNWELCOMING, and RUDE. It looks they rather work on they tan then help tourists and or fellow LEO with a request. Happy to I won't be visiting that or another station in Hawaii ever again because they'll be just the same. Tourists, if you need help ask the LOCALS not the police. Thank you for nothing Honolulu Poice Department.

Parking is literally next to impossible especially on the one way street there's very little room to double park without holding up the procession though there are many many street parking it's a matter of luck finding one. Prior to covid pandemic this enormous park did host many events and activity though the bandstand is a great place for entertainment as there are lots of seating which is quite nostalgic as it's been awhile personally since I've been here. Today was quite an adventure as we finally got to do an in-person Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, amazing event and the perfect location. Thank you!

Enjoyed some great tacos and enjoyed some cool music. It's while thinking of doing review that I discovered no listing for the Kapiolani Park Bandstand so's I decide, "why not?" So I researched the internet, found the address for the bandstand and decided to focus a review on the bandstand itself. After posting some pics, FTR review and a tip, I went to sleep happy knowing that my listing and review info. might be useful to my fellow Yeeps. So the next day I get a comment from a well respected reviewer and friend, Lyla D. who complimented me on my review but was wondering whether having it posted under a 2012 event listing that was listed as "CLOSED" was the best place to post it. Whaaa? My pics, review and tip had morphed into 2012 walk event listing and the bandstand listing was gone. Checking back on the info. I sent, I determined the address used for both my Bandstand listing and the 2012 event listing were the same. Guessing that the software may have found this and defaulted everything to the older listing. An email to Yelp and our Super Senior Community Director Emi did the trick and the correction was made in less than 24 hours of my request. Mahalos Emi! My recommendation? When proposing a new listing have the correct information listed, explained and referenced. I had sent a pic of a county listing showing that address for the bandstand in my email. So happy my review is now posted correctly under Kapiolani Park Bandstand listing. Whew! (Note: my original review about the bandstand itself is listed under this "updated" review and is listed as a "previous review".)

Kāhala Lookout mainly looks in the other direction towards the east coast of O'ahu. Basic looking. This is okay for before going to other places. An easy to get to place once you're at the Diamond Head entrance. It's not quite all the way on top of the monument. This is before getting to the tunnel. Good place to view the neighborhood. That's where the famous Kāhala Hotel & Resort is, as well as the first maker of Hawaiian shirts. Seems as if the view isn't that good. There's not as much to see as at the top of Diamond Head and its more famous lookout. Get here much of the same way as when going to Diamond Head. It's located just before the tunnel. This is kind of like a pit stop on the way to the too or wherever.

Well Lahala Lookout is your consolation prize, you don't have to go back out that tunnel with your head held down in shame, this decent little lookout is right across from the tunnel. Maybe you don't want to pay $10 for parking & $5 for the Diamond Head hike, good news this lookout is free. Besides the limited parking right next to the lookout not sure where else nearby you can park for free, but we stayed by the beach resorts near the Sheraton and it was a little over a 2 mile walk to get here. Afterwards we took one of the buses that go down Diamond Head RD (I believe it was his 21) back to the resorts. $3 a ride, or $7 for a day pass on the bus.
