$8+ per gallon of propane. Too expensive and not competitive. Their delivery truck drivers are polite operating current vehicles.

Pretty much a rip off and very poor customer service. Quoted us $8.69 a gallon to have propane delivered on a regular basis to a tank we would also rent from them for a monthly fee of over $12.00. That's nearly double the price per gallon which is wild..... On top of that we had everything set up for install and getting service going and two days beforehand, dude calls and says we have to MAIL or hand deliver him a check or money order ahead of time or he won't do the work.... Ok we were on the mainland so maybe should have mentioned that during the entire month we were discussing things instead of two days prior. We told him we weren't sending anything ahead of time but would gladly pay in person. He said he wouldn't come but then ended up showing up to our house anyway..... Needless to say we just bought our own 100 lb tanks and moved on with life. read more

Why doesn't anyone ever answer the phone? Hawaii Gas has a customer disservice department.

Very long lead time for delivery. Impossible to reach customer service. Delivery drivers will not enter any driveway with small obstacles

I do not know what's going on with them, I have a family of 4 in a apartment 1 gas stove (barely use it airfryer more) and hot water which ONLY to shower I literally stopped using hot water to wash clothes and wash dishes (lots of dish soap) my bill has been $200, mind you they just changed my meter 2 months ago and 2 months my bill has been $200 I used 36 therms last month which came to $178, the guy came and checked since may 10th (last time they checked Meters my $200 bill) I have used 40 therms in 12 days so far? How is that when I used 36 all month without restrictions? Something you folks should try to look at, then they'll ONLY adjust the bill IF THEY FIND SOMETHING on their equipment, um do you guys look into your human equipment as well? The only thing the guy said is " ooh sistah I no can find no leaks so idk maybe the meter stay kuku" . Well I guess I gotta go higher up above to make a complaint then.....Idk how my meter goes up 3 therms over night???? read more

Too bad there's no zero stars option. DON'T USE THEIR ONLINE BILL PAY SYSTEM. We have paid for several months online, but they use Western Union (for an extra $2.50 fee). This month we paid online as we always do, and selected the option for "use saved bank account number." Somehow the account number was entered wrong even though we used this option, and since the bank returned it Hawaii Gas slapped us with a $25 NSF fee. I told the person on the phone that this $8.75 monthly fee is bogus anyway -- I guess all it pays for is the paper required to dole out NSF fees. And of course they deny any responsibility -- "It's between you and Western Union" was actually said. I know they have a monopoly but I'll still be looking for other options. read more
