We have used Haverford Cleaners for years. We used them, to be perfectly honest, because for convenience; they accepted credit cards on which our weekly bill would be charged, and they picked up and delivered our dry cleaning. Our average weekly bill would be around $50. You were never given a receipt for your clothes. You were provided with a bag and that was it. When your laundry was returned the next week, there was a bill attached, or a receipt. They did an okay job, however, many times my husband would have to re-press his pants because of double creases. We asked them to be more careful, and sometimes would use another cleaner, but the convenience always brought us back...until now. Haverford cleaners claims not to have a designer dress (which i had borrowed from a friend), a pair of pants and a good shirt of my husband's. These are the items we can remember that we have lost. When I asked them, they denied ever having received the dress. I distinctly remember putting the dress in the purple bag that is provided immediately following the wedding I had worn it to. There was no doubt in my mind that is what I did, although, just in case, I looked everywhere in my house. Then I noticed my pants were not in my closet (and I wear them often to work), then my husband notices one of his new shirts is missing and now he is too on board. They never answer their phone, so you need to go down in person, but that does no good because they speak broken English (although I know they understand EXACTLY what I am asking) and what is most unnerving is that they keep telling me to look in my closets and then look down and sort of laugh. It is so disrespectful, especially since we have been such long time good customers.
So, we will never use them again. I can't force them to produce these items, and probably so many more since generally we have about 10 items each week, so we are rendered helpless except to write this review and contact the Better Business Bureau.
They are not to be trusted, and they double crease. read more
