I went here for my first dance lesson outside of college (because of covid, this was over a year…read moreago!) for the Hip Hop I/II lesson that took place around lunchtime of Sunday. Although the instructor was a substitute, I felt the quality of the lesson was not diminished at all. Pace of the lesson is beginner friendly, and even though it took me the first half of the hour to adjust and remember the vibe of dancing, I was still able to pick up the fundamentals and feel confident in myself dancing a few 8 counts at the end without hesitation. I had a great time, even with the fact that the class was really small (about 6 people), as it normally feels a bit intimidating for me to dance in small groups, at least for now. The only issue for me is the commute as I don't have a car to commute from downtown Seattle, but whenever my friend with a car wants to do more dance lessons, this will certainly be the first place I will think of! Besides, this is one of my coworkers go-to dance studio in the past before he moved closer to the city, and he has mentioned that before covid, some lessons are so popular you have to pay in advance to secure a spot!

There is a man who lives on the first floor, right outside the doors, who is a senior with disabilities. I am on the third floor, and every time they wake me up. There is a quite simple solution: exit the front door after 10 pm. I have multiple videos of this happening.

The music stopped around 11:30 but there was still half hour left. No one came in to check on us. The place was empty and just filled with things to play on. My child needs more guidance to be interested so this did not work for us. The room reminded me of the free open plays at the community centers so we will not be returning unless there is a teacher present, or someone other than myself encouraging play and dance. I would assume others feel that this class is lacking, and that's why it was empty.

She is professional, engaging, friendly yet strict with the girls! It takes a good balance to be all the above. It gives the girls a true performance opportunity and something to work towards. Absolutely love the quality and staff. He's always very encouraging with his students, and is ready to help you reach your dance goals, whether it be a fun date night with your honey, to learn or improve your social dance skills or even to compete. Group classes are tons of fun, and are a great intro to ballroom dance. Nathan is really good about demonstrating and explaining the steps to new students, while adding variations that challenge more experienced students. If you're looking to learn to dance, or are looking for a new dance home, Premier Ballroom is the place to be! Oh, and gentlemen, just a note - ladies LOVE a man who can dance! (just sayin'...)

I'm vaguely familiar with ballroom and can certainly say I've watched plenty of YouTube videos. I'm definitely glad I came here because I realized a few things. 1) As I tried to put together my routine, I realized I knew only a few basic moves, so everything became repetitive and boring. 2) I don't know how to teach my husband how to lead. That's an argument waiting to happen. 3) Really cool lifts and moves have a certain way to do them properly so they can be performed safely. (Don't want to fall/be dropped or pull a muscle.). I had an awesome wedding dance (to the whole song). Lots of compliments! After the wedding was over, I had a lot of fun and came back as a student. The hubby didn't join, so I got to explore dancing on my own with fellow students and teachers. Once you have a program going, you actually get a lot included! They have a TON of group classes of all different styles and every Friday is a dance practice party. They have several themed nights, so if you want to dress up, this is your opportunity. The teachers are so awesome and supportive! I did a solo performance, and all the teachers flock up to you after and congratulate you! Really gets you excited to perform again! If you have a competitive bone in your body, you have plenty of opportunities to showcase and perform at larger ballroom competition events, some local (Bellevue), others international like Cabo and Italy! What's also cool is Arthur Murray is an international franchise. I have a cousin in Ontario, Canada, so while he takes classes there, we can meet up at one of the Arthur Murray international events and see each other at competition! I love this group! It's definitely an investment, but it makes me happy, scratches my competitive and performing spirit, and helps with my posture! I love my Arthur Murray family!

When I came here growing up, Cascade was a frequently used word in my social sphere (name of a swim club some of my friends were interested in and my grandad volunteered on trails in the Cascade Mountains). In terms of my artistic gymnastic abilities, I was naturally flexible and high energy. I managed to surprise my family/friends that it did not translate to gymnastics ability. As part of a group, we went through and tried different apparatus to the best of our abilities, I was best at bars and worst at floor. I had/have a fear of falling and for some reason that flared up in my not being able to do a cartwheel (fear of falling flat on my face), however an interest in bars (where fear of falling was overcome by apparatus coolness). My time here was short lived in part because of my not quite taking to it, the workers/instructors were kind and understanding both in my taking part and withdrawing/not continuing.
