I passed out in my car. then get a knock that I gotta still pay the $7. get a totak then go to pay. because it was tap, they charged 3 separate sales taxes. clearly not cool. karma

Whiskey!! Wonderful find in Halifax County!! Beautiful…read morecountryside and bursting with charm. The owner was supreme and while we were choosing what to purchase, she offered us samples. From blackberry, to peach, to honey.... they are all crafted magnificently. For our visit, we settled on whiskey + coffee. I love how she asked what level of sweetness we preferred and then brought out our favorite creamer to add in the coffee. The coffee + cream + whipped topping was perfect to sit outside on a Fall evening and sip. After packaging our to go bottles, we asked a few more questions to the distiller himself and he shared that they make about 2 batches a month, sometimes 3. Even though it wasn't a tour, his sharing helped us understand the process and how lucky we were to find this gem. Even if you don't drink whiskey, go and enjoy the scenery. Order some snacks and play a few board games. Excellent for date night, Friday cheers or just because.

Food was good and I probably would have given them a four but their carpet was disgustingly filthy. Filthy to the point that if I had noticed when I walked in, I would have left! Waitress was mortified and they did take a lot off our bill - we did not ask for that. I will never eat here again.

The place gets people staying on the plantation who don't want to go into town for a meal, so they could get away with subpar food, but we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I felt it was a decent price point for the experience. It also came out quick. The drink menu was vast, too. We ordered the weekend special in juicey and mild. It was very saucy but lacked flavor depth. I did taste and see the seasoning on the peices of corn tough. So, I know it was seasoned. I'm not sure what was used as a base. It didn't taste like butter. We tried the onion rings and mini crab cake (balls). The onion rings were lightly fried but still good. I usually prefer them darker. I still enjoyed the bite. Now, those crab cake (balls) were bomb. They were surprisingly good. I was so apprehensive when they were placed down. I was expecting a traditional crab cake. They were coated and fried but generously seasoned and oh so moist. They were delectable on their own but the sauce elevated them tremendously as I love sweet and spice. So cute, loved the decor. Huge establishment, very spacious. The back lighting was really nice. I like the cute Honeycomb design on the booths.
