Was hard to hear at some points because of the cars passing by. It did run a bit long so be aware if you get tired early like me. Overall great experience.

She shared interesting stories about the neighborhood and the restaurants, which made it feel more like exploring the area with a knowledgeable friend rather than a typical tour. The food was delicious and plentiful, and we even met some really nice new friends along the way. Our very first Six Taste tour was actually the Arts District tour back in 2016, so it was special to return ten years later and experience it again. Over the years we've also enjoyed their tours in Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Thai Town, Koreatown, and Little Tokyo. Every tour has been a fun way to discover great food and learn more about the neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Highly recommend!

This is a classic Hollywood experience that takes you behind the scenes of active and historical…read moremovie sets. The tour is done in a group of about 14 people, with an electric cart taking you around facades, sound stages, and other parts of the studio. You can park in the studio garage for $20. We came on a Saturday and found plenty of free street parking nearby. We parked on Avalon Street, around the corner. The arrival experience felt somewhat disorganized. There are two sets of doors to enter the facility, but neither was clearly marked as an entrance. Inside, there is a Starbucks on the left, bathrooms, and what appears to be a ticketing area. We had purchased online tickets for $69 per person as California residents. After going through a metal detector--which went off because of both my wife's and my belts--we were hand-scanned. Several attendants asked to see our tickets without actually scanning them, which added to the feeling that the entrance process could have been better organized. The tour begins with an exhibit about the Warner brothers, who tried their hands at several businesses before becoming successful in the movie industry. The exhibit emphasizes their success in making movies about ordinary people and their everyday problems. I was surprised, however, that it didn't mention that the brothers were Jewish or the antisemitism their family experienced. Given the emphasis on their family background and connection to ordinary people, I thought that historical context was missing. Our guide, Divey, took us around several buildings and lots of facades where movies such as Spider-Man and Inception, as well as numerous television shows, were filmed. We went inside a sound studio and visited several Stage buildings. I ended up learning much more about how movies and television are actually made than I expected. The second part of the tour included a Central Park café surrounded by the Foley sound exhibit, a Friends exhibit, and a gift shop dedicated to the show. We enjoyed cappuccinos while admiring the incredibly realistic cake props. We then boarded an electric tram for the final part of the visit. This was where the signage became confusing again. There was no clear indication that the tram would take us to the Harry Potter exhibit but the line was for the Superman area, which required an additional ticket we didn't have. There was also a minor seating mix-up: an attendant initially told the four of us to sit on the same bench and then asked us to move because only three people were allowed there. The Harry Potter exhibit itself was excellent. Harry's cupboard-under-the-stairs, the chimney with Hogwarts invitations, the Sorting Hat, and especially the Potions shop were spectacular. Overall, we had a great time. Compared with the Universal Studios tour, Warner Bros. felt much less crowded and more contemplative. We also noticed far fewer children than we typically see at Universal, which contributed to the quieter atmosphere. If you're interested in how movies and television are actually made--and especially if you enjoy classic Hollywood, Friends, or Harry Potter--this is a very worthwhile experience. Just expect some confusing signage and a somewhat disorganized arrival process.This version keeps the review positive but credible: the criticisms are specific rather than overwhelming, while the strongest parts of your experience get more emphasis.

Tom is a lovely man who is just as genuine as he is kind and knowledgeable of Naples. He is a local at heart as he grew up in one of the houses along the canal which is continuously being supplemented by research and inquiries he makes of the other locals he has met in the community. His love for the history of Naples exudes from him and his excitement is contagious. I do not know how many times he has done this tour but it truly sounded as if he was just as invested and excited as if it were his first. The Huell Howser of Naples, this tour is worth the money solely based on Tom. It is an experience well worth the time and money and I look forward to coming to visit Naples again.

Every November, the Echo Park Historic Park Society hosts a walking tour where visitors will get to…read moresee the interiors of some of the homes in the Echo Park area. These tours are meant to promote the neighborhood's past and encourage preservation and restoration. Some of the homes retain their original character, while others have been restored in a variety of ways. The theme for the tour I took was "The Bohemian Havens of Elysian Heights" and focused on the homes of artists, writers and other creative people who live specifically on the northern end of Echo Park known as Elysian Heights, a rustic enclave of narrow canyons and steep hills. The tour comprised of 10 homes where we were able to view the interiors. No pictures of the interiors were allowed, except for one home where the docent said it was okay, but the only one interior shot I wanted to take was of the window. The first home we visited was on an extremely steep hill and when looking outside the window, you get this visual of parked car that looks like it's falling. It was definitely a Kodak moment. In regards to Elysian Heights, I pulled the info below from the tour website, so that you can learn more about this area of Echo Park. The wooded hillsides of Elysian Heights make it feel like an extension of neighboring Elysian Park. Located within the original boundaries of the City of Los Angeles, the steep hills of Elysian Heights were once the highest in the city. Early automakers tested their newest models on Baxter and Fargo streets to prove they could climb some of the city' s steepest streets. The remote and rustic atmosphere made these hills popular with those seeking seclusion, including free thinking members of the Semi Tropic Spiritualists Assoc., whose midnight dances, seances and readings by "spirit mediums" attracted large crowds as well as ire of neighbors and city officials. Elysian Heights was also home to a great many artists and creative individuals who contributed to the neighborhood's bohemian reputation. These included Carey McWilliams, chronicler of the struggles of the state's working class during the Depression, who resided in a hilltop home on Alvarado Street. Edward Middleton Manigault, a World War I veteran who exhibited in the nation's first major exhibition of modern art, found refuge at the top of Elysian Heights. During the 1920s, bookseller and art dealer Jake Zeitlin was the center of cluster of Modernist artists, including Elysian Heights neighbor Paul Landacre, a famed wood engraver. Watercolorist Philip Dike, who lived near Elysian Park, was among California's leading regional painters during the 1930s and 1940s. Nearby, one of Los Angeles' most influential modernist architects, Harwell Hamilton Harris, lived in a tiny house of his own design that can be reached only on foot. Musicians, from opera singer Marilyn Horne and her husband, conductor Henry Lewis, to jazz great Art Pepper, were also at home here. As you can see, Elysian Heights is quite an artist's colony and that is definitely reflected in some of the homes that were part of the tour. One of the homes we visited had owners who owned a decorative tile company, so their beautiful tile work was seen throughout their home and their awesome backyard, including the pool, the walls and a fountain. Another home had this outdoor kitchen and "sofa" that was just amazing. I wasn't sure what the material was, but everything was bright yellow and also had some beautiful tile work. Since this was a walking tour, there were also other homes that we passed by that I wished were part of the tour. Specifically, there are two that had very artistic and colorful front exteriors that you'd have to see to believe and you can do that by checking out my photoset below. In general, it was a great tour and one I would do again. Arrived Early, Treated Rudely, Safety Issues, 30+ Minutes Late…read more We prepaid for the 11:00 AM open-air tour 4 days in advance and arrived at 10:40 AM with printed confirmation stating the bus leaves on time and all late arrivals are bumped to the next tour. Instead, we were repeatedly told to "come back closer to 11" and then that there was a "bus issue" and come back at 11:15 am. We wandered around in the cold. We checked in 3-4 times because we had lunch plans after the 2-hour tour. Staff claimed another group was late (which turned out NOT to be true). Meanwhile, employees were trying to recruit more passengers. Only after we said we were canceling 30 minutes late, did they send us to board a bus. The driver was nice, but one seat behind him had no working seat belt. Three blocks after leaving, the bus was called back to pick up a group of 8 even though there were only 7 seat belts available. We were pressured to give up our safe seats and wait for another bus. We refused to exit. We refused to sit without a seat belt. The older male staff member was aggressive and extremely rude. The tour left over 30 minutes late. Disorganized, misleading, RUDE older man and unsafe. Horrible experience for the start of our vacation. Would NOT recommend.
