I was skeptical of this place at the beginning of my visit. It seemed a bit touristy with its urban kitchen theme and global offering (there is a fish and chip pinxto). But I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty offerings at Hatari.
My partner and I stopped here briefly on an extended pinxto crawl on our last night in Bilbao and we only tried three plates. All three were, however, outstanding and left us wanting more!!
By far, the stand out was the special pinxto of the month, seared foie served with a smooth blue cheese with shaved apple on a bed of popcorn! It was whimsical and out of this world delicious--though it did take quite a while to prepare.
In hindsight, we probably should have stuck around a bit longer to sample a few more of the tasty offerings on the bar and board in Hatari. Check it out!!! Let me know what we missed. :) read more
