*Hats Galore @The River*…read more Not many stores can say they've been at The River in Rancho Mirage as long as Hats Unlimited. And there's lots of reasons why. Fantastico inventory, Alina, reasonable prices, and Alina :) Every time I'm at The River, a quick stop at this store is a must for me. Whether it's to make a purchase or just browse. I have an extensive hat collection -- mostly baseball style caps. I prefer my hats low-profile and lightweight or DryFit. I've been eyeing a particular hat here, but it's very similar to one of my Boston Red Sox hats. It's so similar, I've refrained from buying it. But I keep thinking about that Rancho Mirage hat -- especially when I'm not in the mood to sport my Red Sox colors or a simple shape of red. And today was finally time to do the deed. Nearly every time I come home with a new hat, wifey joking says her greatest hits: "what do you need another hat for?" "don't you already have a hat like that?" "another hat?" "How much did you pay for that?" But not this time...and even tho it looks very much like that Red Sox hat, when she saw it, she understood why I couldn't help myself. (Btw I walked in the kitchen wearing the hat and she didn't even notice it was new until I kept laughing and saying over & over "I knew you wouldn't notice" until she realized it's a new addition to my collection? Tho I've been to Hats Unlimited several times, I've never had the pleasure of meeting & chatting with their outstanding team player, Alina. She takes pride in her outstanding customer service, with a beautiful smile that lights up the room and all the hats. The store is always clean, neat & tidy...and I've never seen a single cap displaced. Tho I prefer baseball caps, Hats Unlimited has all styles for everyone. {{{Big~High~Five}}} Grandslam Lifelong Fan

We would have spent a lot more time browsing through their plentiful collection if the air conditioning had been allowed to stay inside and cool the store instead of battling with the heat outside and losing! Fortunately the salesperson, after apologizing that they are required to keep the doors open, was very helpful and found us what we wanted quickly, so we could get out and go somewhere else that knows how to use an air conditioner. I guess someone in charge doesn't trust that potential customers are capable of using a door. What is the world coming to?

*Big Fan of Fanzz*…read more I'm always drawn to stores like this. I even worked at a place like this, called The Complete Athlete, for a summer job when I was in high school. I was immediately warmly greeted by Alex, and his big wide genuine smile. Very charismatic and friendly young man. We struck up a nice convo about sports and life, and I found out that Alex is a QB and playing football for College of the Desert. Looking forward to seeing him in action this coming season. Fanzz has something for everyone. Jerseys, jackets, t-shirts galore & more from most major professional & college sports teams. Their prices are competitive for sports apparel and gadgets. Whether you're a sports enthusiast like me or a band-wagon fan looking for a great gift...you can't go wrong with Fanzz. {{{Big~High~5}}} Huge Fan Game Over

It was just a simple calculation in my head because of the El Paseo location and it being not too far from the all-out MAGA Patriot Store. The 'pretty things inside' sidewalk sign caught my attention today and I ventured in with the lowest of expectations. Turns out, my assumptions were way off; the shop has a beautiful aesthetic with thoughtfully curated clothing that captures the L.A. cool vibe that I remember well when I lived there. The clothes are priced appropriately for their quality, to be sure. They are not expensive per se, but you are getting top notch quality for the money. A sweatshirt may be $200 bucks but it is likely the softest one you'll ever own. I loved how the clothes had such a luxe, soft touch to them. There were some summery white clothes that were chic but I don't know how you could wear underwear underneath them that doesn't show, but that's not my concern. I was greeted when I walked in, checked on while shopping in a friendly way, and not stalked which I also appreciated. I ventured upstairs to the home goods department (I think she said) and found lots of mystical items and books that I was fascinated with. I don't hold any beliefs on tarot, astrology and the like, but I found this display charming and I picked up a few 'starter kits' just for fun. Checkout was pleasant and my purchases were wrapped in tissue and placed in a lovely bag. After my visit I scanned through some of the Yelp reviews and was surprised to see someone complaining about the customer service or that they had to ask for a bag or whatever. And that they didn't know you could only exchange for a store credit - Girl, there is a sign right there next to the payment machine. I'll be back for sure and would highly recommend Blonde to all blondes, brunettes, redheads and ravenhaired.
