Bath Tub: Disgusting / Filthy! Would you take a shower or a bath in here?
Charlette K.

Extremely filthy dirty old 1970's No Tell - Motel... Bath tub / shower was completely disgusting and filthy dirty. The Nebraska Health Department needs to pay this place a monthly visit. Definitely NOT sanitized or even close to being COVID-19 compliant. Services listed as included are NOT included or NO longer offered. Amenities Stated: Free Wi-Fi (Broken & Inoperable), NO Coffee, No Coffee in Office / Lobby or In-Room Coffee Offered, Free Breakfast Included (Canceled, No Longer Offered per Motel Manager), Free Local Calls (In-Room Telephone Non-Working / Disconnected , No Light's or Dial Tone)... Couldn't even call the front desk to complain about everything in the room was dirty, nasty and not working. Decor is completely outdated and is from the 1970's and has NOT be updated in decade's. Nothing works properly, faucet's drip ALL night and non-smoking rooms reek like Old Cigarette's & Butt. Checked in at 9:30pm, the room was 92 Degree's in mid-summer, A/C was turned off to save them money, the room didn't cool down to a comfortable temperature until 1:30am. Unpleasant, uncomfortable, filthy dirty and the entire place smelled like old Knee Braces, Butt & Expired Tubes of Neosporin. Stay in your car or somewhere else, you'll be better off. Minus -5 Stars!!! (See Photo's Listed)

We weren't disappointed, and were actually impressed by the cleanliness of our room and of the breakfast area. The hotel lacks an elevator, so we requested first floor rooms in advance, and got them with no problem. There was even a cart available to use to transport suitcases and so on from your car to the room. The hallway to the rooms was pretty dimly lit, but we had no trouble finding the rooms and entering them. I wish that there had been more outlets and even some USB ports available, and that there had been more places to open suitcases, but overall the room was fine. The mattress was one of the most comfortable that I have experienced in a hotel and I had a very good sleep. The free breakfast was pretty average, but I did enjoy my waffle, sausage, and cranberry juice. And the breakfast area and table area were both very clean, something that I appreciated.

It was the most disgusting room I have ever stayed in. The bathroom smells like vommit.. the bath…read moremat had a brown built up crud around it like it had veneer been removed and cleaned. There was crumbs in my sheets like they had never been changed and there was even a blood spot on my pillow case. I went back up front to let them know and couldn't find anyone! So disappointed! I will NEVER stay there again!! So gross!!!!!

I also like to know that the money I spend stays locally. I found just that place in the Grand Motel in Hastings, Nebraska. I chose the Grand over the other local places because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews posted on the Internet. I was not disappointed. Despite arriving rather late at night, the owner greeted me with a smile and a hearty "welcome to Hastings". Parking was plentiful and backing a 20 foot truck and car trailer was easy. The 60-year-old motel is charming and boasts a nuts and bolts attitude that provides the essentials for a weary traveler. The room was clean and agreeable. The microwave was clean and the fridge was a standard sized unit found in almost all hotels and motels. Free wi-fi was a treat. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and provided the essentials (towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner). Free breakfast is available upon request as are other amenities such as an iron and ironing board. The area is safe, quiet, close to restaurants and other services. I slept well and woke up refreshed, ready for the long day ahead of me. Thank you Mike, I look forward to staying at the Grand again!

My concerns about this hotel were immediately realized when I checked in. The front desk staff while courteous was argumentative about simple things like replacing an iron. It was frustrating to be told we don't put irons in rooms that don't work. Seriously, if it worked would I walk down this hallway just to be contrary? The room was not just old, but dirty. There was a chemical smell that was over powering. The bed seemed broken at the foot, and it definitely sagged in the middle. The shower worked but looked hideous the air conditioner was the only good thing about this room. To top all this I tried to get a printed receipt and was told we don't do this. The third party agent that booked the room will provide that. Are you kidding me? Finally he agreed to email me a receipt after I repeatedly explained I needed it to complete a voucher when I returned. Super 8 has never been great but I will sleep in the car before I use this place again .

I was doing this trip fairly cheaply. There were some communication issues when I booked the room. I stayed three days - but my key cards would expire every day. The room wasnt the cleanest -but better than I expected. The upholstered chair was greasy and stained. The carpeting needs to be steamed cleaned... but I have seen worse. The wash cloths both were stained. It appears these folks do their own housekeeping. Its pretty minimal. In my three day stay, they never touched my room once. Not once. To be honest and UnPC...too often owners from India are TOO DAMN concerned about profit and not concerned enough about cleanliness, quality food or service. In my years of traveling, I can not recall how many indian run hotels have turned out to be absolute pig stys. I mean Third World dirty Unsanitary. Generally when I call and find out a hotel is operated by a person from India - I move on. Thats not racism - its experience with the culture. Race and culture are generally linked. This operator does a decent job. It was worth $55/night, but no more than $55/night. I would not bring my family here - or let one of my adult kids stay here. As for breakfast, I cant tell you - but from what I saw, it was something to be missed. I chose not to "spin the microbiological wheel of fortune". Remember, you can negotiate. I recommend it here. The less you pay, the better.
