It's been almost 3 weeks and I am still currently waiting for a call back about scheduling an appointment to see MY doctor. The doctor who is supposed to be working for me. It is impossible to reach him as he only works on (some) Fridays. The front desk is not helpful at all. I am constantly being transferred to the office manager's phone--who doesn't ever seem to be at her desk--to leave messages that are never returned. I had a scheduled phone consultation with, who I assumed was my doctor (Dr. Sanchez), but in reality I was speaking with another doctor from a different office, who I've never had any interactions with. Even she was confused as to why she was picking up his patients. She was great but Azusa office is completely chaotic. Don't go here. PS...I'm still waiting for that phone call.

Dr. D isn't a miracle worker.... but.... he comes close to it!…read more I found Dr. D on Yelp (thank you other Yelpers!) and what a difference it made in my quality of life. In March 2022 for at least 3 weeks (non stop) I was experiencing tension headaches (very latent and mild but chronic all day long), jaw pain, clicking when I opened my jaw, cheek soreness, and just overall a lot of pain and soreness on my face! There would be days where the headaches were so strong I had to lay down and at times it would be painful to chew and eat. (It may be helpful to know I grind my teeth when I sleep too....) After researching my symptoms online, I found out they matched TMJ. I went in for a consult with Dr. D which then started my four-month treatment. This included initial full-scan x-rays, along with extensive measurements of my bite (on all angles/sides). My range of motion was definitely limited. I was fitted with a special mouth guard and assigned special exercises to improve my range of motion (just like in regular physical therapy). Dr. D was very pragmatic and realistic about what he could and could NOT do to treat my TMJ. He was very patient in explaining how he was diagnosing me, what the measurements meant, etc. Throughout all of my many visits to Dr. D's office, I never felt like any of my questions were too insignificant. He always took time to answer any and all of my questions with patience and care. Having experienced TMJ himself, I truly felt like he understood and empathized with the pain I was experiencing. (Very impressive bedside manners.) I was also very impressed with the smooth operation at Dr. D's office (Glendora) because every time I went to see him, it was right around the time of my actual appointment. Unlike at other doctor's offices where you may be taken to a room and made to wait another 20-30 minutes before the doctor would actually see you, Dr. D was always on time. Thank you Dr. D for respecting my time as a patient!!! And thank you for your stellar support team at the Glendora office who are always so lovely and polite. I'm looking at my before and after measurements for my range of motion and the data is quantitative proof his treatment worked for me. If you are reading this review, then you may be feeling the same hesitation I did when I read all of the other older reviews. Please go see Dr. D for a consult. Do not wait another day in pain. I know I sound like an infomercial actor but I am not getting paid for this review. I am just grateful for having a normal bite again, minus all of the pain.

While my conventional doctor recommended only strong pain medication, Dr. Gloria developed a personalized treatment plan that produced remarkable results. She has also performed cupping therapy on my back, and I continue to experience near-immediate improvement with each visit. I trust her expertise completely. I can't say enough great things about my experience here…read more.. I came in after struggling with a relentless dry cough that had lasted for almost a month. I had tried everything from over-the-counter medications, teas, home remedies, and even a visit to my primary doctor, but nothing seemed to help. It was exhausting, frustrating, and honestly affecting my sleep and daily life. From the moment I walked into the clinic, I felt heard and cared for. The doctor took the time to ask detailed questions about my symptoms, lifestyle, and overall health before starting treatment. The acupuncture sessions were gentle and relaxing. Along with herbal remedies and targeted advice, I started to feel real improvement afterwards. Within a short period of time, my cough was completely gone and somehow got my voice back. I was blown away, not only by the results but also by the thoughtful and holistic approach to healing. The doctor truly looks at the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms. If you're struggling with something that conventional medicine hasn't been able to resolve, I highly recommend giving this clinic a try. They gave me my peace (and sleep) back! They do take insurance and I've been here before for pain and migraine. You can make appointments online or by phone.

This place is red flag city and has a weird, unprofessional vibe. When I called to make a new…read morepatient appointment--a standard routine at any other medical office--the stammering person with who answered said he needed to see if someone who did new patient appointments was available and placed me on hold. (Why is someone who doesn't do this answer the phone at all?) He came back and said no one was there and I needed to wait for someone to call me back. That someone had an almost incomprehensibly thick accent and did not seem to understand all I was saying--there was a significant interference with clear communication. Whatever, I figured let it go and I made the appointment, but I definitely was left feeling less than confident. Red flag #1. Then days before my appointment, I am sent what is a freaking masters degree thesis of a questionnaire/registration form: it had to be 18-20 digital pages. Okaaaay, fine, I filled out the typical medical history stuff, which got more and more detailed and intrusive, but then came allllllll the pages about mental health (suicide, depression, ADHD, etc. questionnaires and family histories--but ALSO very personal questions about trauma, even asking about sexual abuse as a child). And then came alllllllllll the pages about pain medication use (what all did I used to take, what do I take now, who prescribed it, for how long, how bad was my pain at its worst yesterday, at its best yesterday, how is my pain now, how much does my current medication help, how long does it last, how effective is it overall, and so much more), THEN came all the forms to sign about opioid/opiate use plus all the questions about drug use--I can't begin to remember them all. I became more and more agitated filling the form out, but FINE, it's done, maybe all of this info will help guide treatment, but Red Flag #2. Then today, my appointment time finally arrives and my husband accompanied me as he usually does to new appointments. I will say the building itself and its location added to the sketchy vibe, but I still put that aside to just go with it. I have a very complicated medical history (including but farrrr from limited to 2 back surgeries and brain surgery) with many overlapping conditions related to those surgeries (as well as unrelated), and my husband is both my support and my advocate. But as I was waiting to check in, I saw a sign posted that as of 7/1/26, only the patient is allowed in exam rooms and not support/advocates/partners. I have never seen this policy anywhere --and I regularly see 7 specialists, and saw dozens during my pre brain surgery years. I understand the practice of disallowing other people for *procedures* and things like echocardiogram/tests, but those are instances where there is no real exam or doctor interaction, so having another set of ears isn't really necessary. But exam rooms? When we asked why, the receptionist said it was because some accompanying people have been combative/aggressive. So...have a policy where such behavior gets them and/or the patient removed from the building, or disallowed from coming back, instead of banning ALL others? And to not have it mentioned anywhere in any of that mountain of intake paperwork, or anywhere in the texts, or any other notice at all? No exceptions? (We asked.) Forget it. Red flag #3, you're out. We canceled the appointment, turned around, and went out the door. I will be calling to make sure my cancellation reason is noted, and not just "patient cancelled," in my file. In summary, my experience left me without confidence in this practice, to say the least. None of the issues in and of themselves would have dissuaded me if they were the only ones, but the combination of them and the no additional person policy was the nail in the coffin. I recognize medical practices are free to have the policies they choose, but in light of everything I am not comfortable establishing care here and will look elsewhere for pain management.

Eventually, it reached a point where I could no longer manage it with over-the-counter medications or within the limitations of my primary care physician. When I met Dr. Shwachman, I quickly recognized his intelligence, honesty, and depth of experience, which immediately eased my anxiety. He was straightforward about what would and would not be effective, and I truly felt that he cared about my situation. He took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and approached my care with both precision and compassion. Without hesitation, he committed to helping me manage my pain. I am deeply grateful for the trust he built with me, which allowed us to take a more proactive and effective approach to reducing my pain. Unfortunately, due to a change in insurance, I was forced to seek care elsewhere. Since then, the experience has been extremely difficult. I have not encountered another physician who demonstrates the same level of confidence, honesty, or genuine commitment to working collaboratively on what will and will not help. As a result, I am now in constant pain--worse than before. Thank you, Dr. Ben Shwachman. Sincerely, Franklin Peck
