Wow. This was not what I was expecting. Everything looks great in the menu photos, the service is good, the décor is nice, but the sushi was bad on so many levels. The rice was too hard and of sub-par quality for sushi rice. The wasabi came smeared across the plate in a flourish but it was also so hard that it wouldn't incorporate into the soy sauce. There was a comically large pile of pickled ginger, which came in handy to mask the flavor as I forced the sushi down. The fish was of such dubious quality that I kept thinking about those reports of fish being mislabeled to pass off for something better. I am not exaggerating to say that I have had better supermarket sushi than this. I'd give it one star if it weren't for the non-food elements of the experience. read more
