It was the red barn shaped building where you'd just pull up, get what you need, and go. Now, they've reinvented themselves as The Barn, and after blowing up on TikTok for their creative drinks, I knew I had to try their coffee. The Barn now offers so much more than your standard convenience drive thru. Their menu has leveled up with specialty lattes, dirty sodas, seasonal treats, and donuts. It was a crisp fall weekend and I was all about embracing the fall season vibes, so I went straight for a seasonal latte. The pumpkin spice latte came served INSIDE a real pumpkin! Not only was it super Instagram worthy, but the drink itself was a hit. Not overly sweet like so many pumpkin lattes tend to be. Definitely a fun way to enjoy a fall treat. My sister went for the Cookies and Scream latte, which was topped with a freshly baked Schmackary's cookie. She loved that it was both indulgent and flavorful, with the cookie as a decadent bonus. It's worth noting that these drinks are definitely on the pricier side. $38 for two lattes is a splurge, even by New York standards. But given the experience, and the fact that my drink was served in a literal pumpkin ... I can't say I regret it. If you grew up around Dairy Barn or just love a great seasonal coffee with a twist, The Barn makes for a fun, nostalgic visit. I look forward to seeing their Christmas specials.

During these mix ups, the pharmacy department has not been apologetic, even during situations that absolutely call for it... like sending wrong medication or sending me to a cooperating location, stating they'd have my medication, when they don't. Years ago, I switched to Rite Aid due to my frustration with CVS, but unfortunately, they went out of business. Rite aid was far better with consistency of filling my medication in a timely fashion and in its customer service. I understand that the customer experience at CVS is damaged by something probably above the specific locations control. The phone system/automated messaging is infuriating. It takes so much effort and frustration to try to leave a voicemail. Pressing 0, saying "operator", saying "speak to a pharmacist" doesn't seem to expedite the time it takes to leave a voicemail . I've even asked someone in pharmacy in the past if they knew a shortcut to get to voicemail and they don't. I hope they can report at least that to their higher-ups in the company, because I'm sure I'm not alone with already being frustrated by time I speak with someone in pharmacy due to that system. I'd bet dealing with frustrated customers is not good for the morale of the pharmacy staff working. Their automated texting system is also a problem. For example, the system does not trigger any communication regarding a shortage in medication until the date is supposed to be filled. Had they adjusted the settings to make customers aware of shortages earlier, the customer can have options to call around to other pharmacies and work with their doctor to have it filled at another location before their needed medication is out. Instead, I'm days past receiving my medication and received a text message today stating that I need an updated prescription from my subscriber (which wasn't the case when I spoke to someone on Friday). I'm on my 5th call to CVS since Friday and when I eventually spoke to someone, the pharmacist clarified that he doesn't need an updated prescription (as the text said) but instead is informing my doctor of medication shortage. Had the text message been accurate, I would've understood and wouldn't have had to deal with the whole phone system AGAIN to call for clarification. It's frustrating enough to not be able to fill a medication I need with no timeline in sight for when I will be able to get it, but for these automated systems to add so much increased frustration is ridiculous.
