No…read moreburger bun, no real toppings, just some spicy gravy that is poured on the burger and even their poutine. The hamburger patty is flat and small - like a junior patty at Harvey's. The bun looks like a dollar flapjack. If you look at the picture, half of the burger is under gravy. You use a half of a popsicle stick to wedge up the lower part of the burger into your hands. Surprisingly, the lower bun has not gone soggy. You can dip your burger back into the gravy if you want. The poutine has the same spicy gravy. I personally would have loved to have a bunch more gravy as it was pretty dry and not hot enough to melt down the curds. A pretty popular place but it can be expensive! You basically need a couple of these burgers + a poutine to say you had something to eat. Be prepared to break out the platinum card if you have a small troop with you. Overall, an experience to have said I came, I saw, I ate...now...off to real burger place! Cheers.

I was shopping in Dix-30 and meeting someone and decided to get a bite here…read more I was trying to decide between Five Guys and the restaurant next door but at the time that I arrived in the parking lot, the restaurant was closed and would only re-open at 5pm and I didn't want to wait until 5pm. I ordered a poutine and a small hamburger. The place was packed on the day and time that I showed up. After ordering my poutine and small hamburger and paying for it, I waited for them to call my number. When I picked up my order there were no free tables available so I took my bag and went to my car to eat. The burger was very good. I didn't have a Five Guys burger for a few years since the Five Guys that I normally went to across from the Eaton Center closed a few years ago. Five Guys doesn't have the same price as one of the more widely available fast food chains in Montreal (McDonald's, Harvey's, Burger King, and Wendy's) and they are more expensive. I think that Five Guys burgers taste better than the burgers at the other places that I mentioned. I wasn't crazy about their poutine since I felt that they put too much salt on their fries and they use these same salted fries for their poutine.

This fast food joint has an open concept kitchen so you can see the food being prepared fresh, the burgers and options are rather simple but you can customize everything to your liking, there are lots of free toppings to choose from like caramelized onions or mushrooms so it's great to build with. We noticed the place had perhaps 10 employees working which seemed like a lot considering how small the space was, but this makes for very speedy service. I tried the traditional hamburger with cheese and to my surprise it has two patties and two american cheese slices. At 10$ each, this seems a little steep for fast food but the burger was big and filling. My partner got a bacon cheeseburger and found that there was actually too much meat compared to bread ratio, as the bun is rather small and looks like a floppy Mcdonalds bun. I got to try their fries and found them a little too crispy and too cooked for my taste. I'm really more into the mushier "Belle Province" quebec style fries so these were far too hard for my liking, but they are good thickness. Perhaps as a poutine, they would taste much better. Beware this place is very noisy and the open kitchen makes everything including your clothes and hair smell fried so I would recommend taking your meal to go.

And even if my go to, is the original one from 1929 at Ville Émart, I've decided to give a shot at their location on Jean Talon. At what I call "The Burger Triangle", where my three of my favourite burgers are around Metro Fabre, Mange dans mon Hood, L'Hamburger and of course Dilallo. Compared to Ville Émart, That location is smaller and looks like more a bistro than a diner. The vibe is chill, 5,6 70s dude where talking to each others, all seated at a different table, a bit loud, but the conversation were funny to listen. You got casino machines in the back, with a few elders on it. I've ordered the classic Buck trio; Cheese, spicy pepper, relish, mustard , onions, tomatoes, lettuce. It supposed to have capicole which is delicious as well, but I got food restrictions, can't eat it this time. I've ordered with the bread wet, but the very young cook was more focused on his cell than his orders. He forgot to wet it, no big deal tho. And once again, the burger delivered, still frickin' delicious! And the fries, my boy! I forgot how they were so good. I never tried their poutine yet, but with fries like that it should be pretty good.

The brown paper bag was soaked through with grease. Some might say that's a good thing, but I ordered my bun Dry, which I assumed meant toasted. Imagine my surprise when I peel back the wrapper and it's not just soft, but sodden. Couple that with the incredibly small, soggy, unsalted 1 inch fries, and I cannot say I'm a satisfied customer. The best I can say about the food was that it was edible, which is the lowest bar to clear in these times where a meal out is more a luxury than ever, and it's the only reason I'm not rating this a one. The fact that this experience single-handedly motivated me to make a Yelp account should speak for itself. I hope for all the regulars that this is just an outlier, but I will not be taking the chance again in the future.
