One piece of feedback back for whoever actually owns the property, please install a quarter machine so that guests don't have to go to the front desk or go looking for quarters elsewhere. Talked to another lady in the lobby who said they had 1 towel for their entire family. Apparently the cleaning staff has to go home at 4pm whether they clean rooms or not. So the staff had to clean rooms. I'll update after our stay here but not a good start at all. Update: only getting worse. Came down for breakfast at 830.. no eggs, barely any bread, no bagels, no juices except cranberry, no coffee, no forks.. I mean the list goes on and on.. I tell the front desk and their response is yes there's a guy working back there and he's on it. He comes out with eggs and disappears again for awhile. I go back to the front desk to tell them again they might want to get him some help there is nothing to eat or drink and the lady doesn't respond and just walks away towards the breakfast area. No sorry we'll take care of it, not a word. She's goes into the breakfast area and puts forks out and leaves. He comes out puts coffee out but not much else. On top of that while this is going on I walk to the car and I see the guy outside smoking taking a break while people are waiting for food to eat. It's insane. Customer service here is terrible. Oh and the juice machine is leaking water and the floor is slippery. No one behind the desk cares at all. So the night we checked In the staff told us we should be comped for the first night because our room wasn't ready but corporate doesn't allow them to make decisions and everything has to be run through corporate. Well, corporate never responded to the inquiry so we were charged both nights. What a racket this place is. It's almost criminal. We will be filing a dispute with our credit card company and contacting corporate as well, but I don't expect to hear from corporate. Bottom line is.. Don't stay at this hotel!!

TV was an older flat TV with no HDMIs and the cable channels selection was better than many. Wifi was mostly good, but phone reception was terrible in the room. Likely, a result of its location. There is no restaurant, but the bar is open on weekends and has a very limited bar menu. We didn't eat there. We preferred Bull Moose and South Moon BBQ. Drink prices were really reasonable for a hotel bar: $16 for two Kahlua/cream and two Budweiser. Continental breakfast was a nice surprise and the attendant knew how to set up a nice breakfast! Great service, very clean room and bathroom, a very good, free breakfast to start the day, so HELL YEAH!, we'll stay here again!

The lights slowly switched on when I stepped out of the elevator. Once in the room: there was a wrinkle in the carpet, which was weird. The curtain was ripped and the bed had only throw pillows.... There was an armchair with a cover on it, it had me guessing what was under the cover... The heater did not get hot, I had to switch on the Aux for the heat to warm the room. When I entered, the thermostat was in the 50s. The restroom: there was a leak under the sink, there were microfiber towels hanging where there should be hand towels and it had a long piece of hair on it. There seemed to also be a lot of ladybugs by the window and around the desk or table. Furniture and TV seemed really dated. I was grossed and creeped out by this place... it was the only hotel in Sandwich, IL. Lesson learned. I'll take the 20 min drive next time I have to be in the area.

Our room also had a decent sized closet. Not too many channels and the room had one full sized bed, kind of reminded me of a dorm mattress in comfort. I would recommend bring an extra pillow or two. But affordable and private for a three month period.

All rooms were unsuitable for guests. All icemakers broke, except the one on the third floor. Liquid stains on the walls, filthy carpet, literal dirt rings in the bathtub, roaches on the floor in the concierge, breakfast area, wood panels falling off the ceiling, holes and stains in the furniture in the bridal suite! Pull back bedding and found long black hairs on the sheets. When asked for the bedding to be changed, we were handed the sheets and duvet to do it ourselves! One of the bathroom toilets had fecal matter on the toilet!! The toilet paper was so thin and cheap, it had the same consistency as tissue paper you use to stuff in gift baskets. Let's not even begin to talk about the manager and the owner of this disgusting Holiday Inn Express. When you stay in a Holiday Inn express you are doing so, in part, because the name itself should carry some weight. You expect that there is a corporation that cares about their brand and so you put your money down site unseen and think everything will be OK. This is kind of like how franchisees work, right? There should be a level of standard that individual owners are not allowed to go below, but I guarantee you this is not the case with Holiday Inn express in Yorkville. Our credit cards were overcharged. Management, and the owner were unapologetic and contentious throughout our entire stay. We started documenting photos and videos to ensure there was substantial evidence to back our claims.
