I gave this service 4 stars rather than 5 simply because learning to play classical guitar is so…read more difficult that even the best teacher can not make it easy,. In 1952 my grandfather took me to a Segovia concert perhaps in the hopes of inspiring an interest in music. I never did manage to develop any musical talents but I did not forget my fascination with classical guitar. Fast forward 60 years when I finally had the time to take lessons. Fortunately for me I was introduced to Ken Andrade by one of his adult students. The opportunity to study with Ken has been critical to my success as I could only take on this challenge if it were to be enjoyable and rewarding. Ken first learned to play the guitar as an adult so he understands the unique experience of learning with a brain that can be resistant to change. He is a concert level artist as well as a professor of music giving me an incredible opportunity to learn in a non threatening supportive environment. Ken has allowed me to study and learn at my own speed so I have control over the amount of time I spend practicing each week. I will say that learning became a lot easier once I stopped trying to figure out my own "better" way and simply used the specific technique I was being taught. Gone are the days of doing homework out of fear of what will happen if I am not prepared. Ken removes the fear aspect of learning and replaces it with logical solutions to all the many challenges presented in studying such a difficult discipline. I would not want to mislead- classical guitar is incredibly difficult. I had to use multiple reward chocolate candies to keep myself motivated. But now three years in, it is such a thrill to play my three piece repertoire for my friends that I no longer need to use chocolate for inspiration.

She observes how the children learn and accommodates to their learning style. My son is not the best listener by any means, but he watches and imitates the teacher. Miss Violetta was able to hold his little hands and fingers to correct the mistakes and solidity the good habits in the long run. She also incorporates the newest teaching methods over there in the research field into her own practice, which we really appreciate it. For example, with some basic knowledge of music theory, she encourages the children to compose their own music. It was inspiring for the kids to create their very own music. My husband and I really appreciate Miss Violetta and her dedication for children.

I started from zero, since I had not studied music since I was I child, and I did not have any guitar experience. I am doing a huge progress thanks to her amazing lessons. I am really motivated and inspired by her classes since we started. Kenia is very knowledgeable, and an excellent and dedicated teacher, with experience with a broad variety of styles. She has also adapted to my musical taste, incorporating some of my favorite songs into our lesson plan. I am currently working on some Belle and Sebastian songs that I love, and I am so happy to be able to play them on guitar and ukulele. I am very grateful with my results and to have Kenia as a music and guitar teacher. I can only strongly recommend her to anyone who loves music and would like to have a truly personalized experience with guitar lessons.

It looked too interesting to pass up and I had always wanted to learn tabla so I joined myself! SatishJi the owner has been incredibly kind and helpful with the process even assisting me in finding tabla sellers. Now about my current teacher TusharJi: he has been the best Guru I have personally had in regards to music instruction. He has truly inspired me to keep up with my practice and I have come to a new level of understanding and appreciation for the instrument. I still have long long long way to go, but I feel much better these days with what we are doing in class and overally learning. You can tell that he has a teaching background. Sir has a nice way of combining tough love and gentle understanding that resonates and inspires me to do better. I am excited and proud to be a part of this musical world now! They offer a lot of different classes for a variety of instruments, but I don't know specifics as I have only experienced one. The prices are fair especiallly considering what you are getting and change based on your skill level (you pay more at higher levels).

So I thought. I made an appointment via texting with someone. They gave me an appointment in the middle of the day on a Sunday, which limits me from doing any other activities that day, but I was too excited to get started so took it. I confirmed with the person that it is in person and they said yes. I showed up on time. No teacher. And no one was there to even speak with live. I texted the person asking what was going on and they said look for the teacher. Umm.. you want me to go knock on each door, disrupt other people's lessons to look for my teacher? Yeah, No! I waited 20 minutes for them to resolve and get my teacher to start the lesson, but sadly, I left with no lesson and no apologies. Unprofessional! I don't operate on Desi time and these folks wasted my time. If you value your time, look for another school.

Ms. Nancy, as my boys address her, has been their piano teacher for over two years now. We were…read moreintroduced to her as a referral from a family friend and the experience has been wonderful. My boys enjoy their lessons with Nancy every week because she is very patient and kind to them, especially on those rough times when they don't get too much practice in due to homework and other activities. My wife and I have seen a tremendous amount of progress since our sons first started with her back in July of 2022. Even my parents and sisters comment on their skills when they attend their recitals or when they ask for them to play at home. If you're also interested in having your child learn another instrument besides piano, Nancy's son also teaches guitar. We learned this during the first recital when he played acoustic guitar in the background. Needless to say, my sons are his guitar students! My youngest just started a few months back but my eldest has been a student since November of 2022. This year, for this 10th birthday, he started playing electric guitar. I've also heard that Nancy's son teaches bass guitar so we might be adding that instrument to the repertoire sometime in the future. Whether your child is a total beginner or has some experience, look no further if you're interested in having your child not only learn piano but also enjoy playing it. Trust me, there is a big difference. I've never once heard my boys complain about going to piano or guitar lessons and this is coming from hearing it all the time before kung fu, soccer, or hockey practice! Nancy is the perfect teacher and it shows in her students and their abilities. A few of Nancy's older students have even composed their own pieces. I am always blown away when I hear their compositions during the recitals. I'm sure Nancy has a lot of influence in those pieces. As far as communication and scheduling, Nancy is fantastic at notifying us about any changes well ahead of time. She is also very flexible and is accommodating to our sons' ever changing activities schedule. Often times, during soccer or hockey season, I feel bad for asking Nancy to find time to fill us in but there has never been a time where we couldn't work something out. If you're not already sold on this review, please reach out to her and see for yourself. It's like that Video Only commercial on the radio. "If you don't, you'll be sorry!" *End bad dad joke*

My piano teacher was nice as well and if I ever mess up I would never get shamed about it. And thanks to that teacher! I learned a lot from my piano lessons! The guitar teacher that I had was also nice and chill and I am proud to take guitar lessons at b&n considering the fact that I love playing guitar.
