Lots of people seem to love Haru Sushi, and I did too during the short time that I worked at Un Caffe Bar, but lately it has been letting me down.
As it is one of my favourite foods, I am quite particular about my sushi.
Haru used to make sushi that had delicate but generous fillings, moist rice and less of an odour.
The last few times I've been here though, I've been disappointed by the decline in quality.
I had the spicy tuna roll and prawn tempura roll. The first thing I noticed was the miniature sized portions. There was hardly any sushi in my hand!
The prawn tempura was okay, although if I knew it was going to be bite-sized I would have ordered ten, or not even bothered at all. The way in which they were displayed made them seem so much bigger in size. If not huge, then at least a normal size.
I wasn't thrilled by the spicy tuna though. It was small, didn't have enough tuna in it, rice was undercooked, and the seaweed tasted stale.
On the up side, the staff were very friendly. Friendly staff go a long way with me. Three stars. read more
