My teenage daughter and I both have scoliosis challenges. She is an elite level swimmer and scoliosis has tremendously affected her strokes and her breathing , so much that it was misdiagnosed as asthma. Horrible horrible. I was worse after I went here for a year. No matter what u tell him about ur ailments or where ur having pain he doesn't listen. Dr. Hartley has horrible people skills. He doesn't talk to u. Also he is constantly pushing his holistic life style on u. Telling u not to vaccinate ur children. Not to use medicine. Not to go to the doctor. A real doctor. Its malpractice. I was very skeptical at first since I have been to two different places to get help for sciatic pain. After several weeks of Dr.J's process he has gotten me back to normal. My pain was very bad in the morning in my right hip that I could barley stand. He took x-rays and showed me the progress and put me a specific regimen which I followed and I am back on my feet. Wow where can I start? I was here in St Augustine and my back started to hurt really bad. I called them up and told them I wasn't going through insurance so I wanted to the know an approx. price. Whoever I spoke to told me that the appointment would be like $50-60 max depending on if I was to get fixed but that it would not be beyond that. So I went in and meet the doctor. After he told me exactly what is wrong and exactly what he would do, he said well of course I cant do anything without an extra so that will be an extra 70! If I didn't pay the 70 he couldn't treat me and the money I had already paid was not included. After that he told me that I had to come back everyday to see HIM for a week if I really wanted to get better. And of course that was included. Surprise Surprise when I went back the entire week I was seen by someone else. Not the doctor that they advertise. Someone that you have never even heard of, and the main doctor never came back to see me! After that they said I should continue for another week and this point I politely declined. Then my back started again so being dumb I thought ok maybe their massage therapist would be better. She was very nice but when I asked for more pressure she pressed hard for about 2 minutes and went back to pressure that I am sure my 5 year old nephew has more of. The entire time I had to try really hard not to tear off the blanket and tell her she was wasting my time and money. I would have given them 1 star instead of 1.5 but the only thing that was good was the lady in the front desk. She was very sweet and very delightful so she help this horrible place seem hopeful. read more

I was visiting from Seattle, WA and found Dr. J Hartley. I explained that I had migraines 2-3 X month for several years since a nasty car wreck. He did a full examination and took x-rays of my neck. He found that the care I had been seeking in my neck was not helping to correct the problem I had... and that might be the cause of my migraines. He adjusted me and gave some advice that has been very helpful. I found him to be thorough and easy to communicate with. I have not had a migraine in 5 weeks now, and that has been wonderful.
