They allowed themselves to be bought up by a larger agency that cares ONLY about the book of business they purchased and NOT about how to maintain that book of business going forward. I have canceled every single one of my policies with them after having to fight them to get legitimate claims covered and other various ridiculous issues. The agents no longer will advocate for you and are, instead, going to push all of the legwork of filing claims and fighting for your rightful coverage on you. Avoid them at all costs and go with ANY of the online companies. You will absolutely pay double for your coverages through this agency compared to other policies you can buy yourself from an online company. Yes, read the fine print in the coverages to ensure that you are getting what you need, but don't fall for the corporate rhetoric garbage that this agency will spew at you about why the policies THEY will sell you are better.

Takes all my information (license number, social security number and so on) tell me he runs my driving record. Sets up my policy and takes my down payment. 4 days later I get cancellation notices for all 3 of my vehicles due to my driving record not being up to snuff for State Farm. This is after I asked Rick if my MVR was ran and he confirmed it was. I try and go back to Progressive after being left out to dry by Rick and now they want to charge me a higher premium due to me not having a longer history with an insurance company. Gave calls to 3 local agents in Torrington and all prices are astronomical since the switch. State Farms says that can't insure me period. So I decide to go online myself and do some research. First quote I get blows everyones quotes away and they even run your MVR online(who would have thought). Steer FAR away from Agents and buy your policies online ESPECIALLY this agency. Will NEVER buy from an agent or State Farm ever again!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

This guy went on and on about how he's been in business 30 years and only works with dealerships. He spent about 15 minutes bragging about himself. He also forgot to mention to my boyfriend that the quote wasn't finalized as he hadn't run his license yet. Once he reluctantly did that, wouldn't you know the quote went up quite a bit. He then fed him some crap about not being able to insure him at a good rate until he's been with his current policy 6 months. Well, about a month later, he called my boyfriend and they spoke for a while and he repeated his line of "I've been doing this 30 years" and what not. He once again gives my boyfriend a quote he can't say no to! It was unbelievable and my boyfriend was ecstatic to save that much money! Jeff tells him to get a letter from his other insurance company stating he was there 6 months. My boyfriend got this letter and canceled his car insurance. He calls Jeff who is suddenly not returning calls as fast as usual. They finally speak and he then tells my boyfriend an entirely different amount than previously stated. My boyfriend questions him about why he would do this to him...again and Jeff then became very unprofessional! He said he has plenty of other business and doesn't need my boyfriend's business, among other things. He even sent my boyfriend an email that said: "you wasted my time." If you want to do business with a total sleaze who does nothing but brag about himself and feed you bullshit lines then this is your guy! He is dishonest, rude and very unprofessional!!

The letter I received from the Bank stated I needed to carry a certain amount of coverage before they would approve the loan. I had a suspicion that I did not need it, but had to expedite the process...and John was there every step of the way. John contacted FEMA, got from them what I needed and instructed me on what I needed to do. Not only did he help with that, he was also experienced enough to know that what the Bank was telling me I needed was false. Furthermore, he contacted both the bank and FEMA again for me to allow me to focus at my job, while all of this detail was being handled in the background. John is experienced, friendly, and is a top of the line insurance agent. He goes above and beyond for people, and has a very calming and reassuring tone to his voice when speaking with you. He will follow-through in what he says he will do, and even go beyond that without you asking. His office team is friendly and courteous, and will assist you when John is helping other clients. They are experienced, and they know what they are doing as well. I would recommend John's agency over any other State Farm agency for this very reason. He never got back to us with the needed information or invoice, so we were charged a late fee, by the time we received our bill. When contacted about this, he still never got back to us. Took the money and ran. So we are stuck paying the late fee for something that wasn't our fault? Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of other good insurance agents out there.
