I made an appointment for my bf and I gave them my bf insurance info. They said everything was set and ready for the day of. Come to find out after his appointment that they are not in network and he had a large bill. It felt like they intentionally didn't disclose it was out of network. Nice choice for a dentist. I moved to chicago last year and this one was recommended by a co-worker. I had a cleaning and check up with xrays here. The front desk was friendly and the facility was very clean. Not much else to say about a dentist office if you like the dentist! Just saying this is a very good choice! Fifteen weeks since the incident and Dr. Sood has still not reimbursed one penny for my losses. After the incident he insisted he would pay all my medical expenses. After he has realised the extent of the damages he got his insurance carrier MedPro involved. Since then his insurance carrier refused any payment. Dr.Sood feels that he is somehow not responsible for any of the damages, yet the photos, doctor bills and expenses show otherwise. Multiple attempts to contact Dr. Sood including one this week go unanswered. Do not trust this dentist his actions clearly show he is dishonest, unreputable and has no ethics! read more

By far the worst dentist I've ever been to. Here was my experience: 1) Had to find a new dentist and, due to location, went to see Dr. Sood for a cleaning. 2) About 1 month after a cleaning I had a cavity that must have been missed, despite my Xrays. I made an early morning appointment to get it filled as I work in the loop. 3) Arrived at 8am as scheduled. I was sat in a chair and waited for Dr. Sood's arrival. 4) About 10 minutes after waiting, someone came into the room and said the dentist was on his way and should be in soon. Although I was very offended by this, I said I would wait. I would already be late for work anyway so I might as well wait. I work in finance and it's difficult to get any time off. I feel much better around people that do not believe their time is more important than my own. 5) At about 8:30 the same office employee came back in and said Dr. Sood did not know when he would be arriving and I should probably reschedule. Needless to say I had no desire to reschedule. 6) After all of this I finally ended up going to a dentist in Florida while on vacation since that was time I already had off work. A few weeks later I actually received a statement from my insurance. Dr. Sood's office had the nerve to actually put the visit through to my insurance! The entire experience was horrible and I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

I enjoyed my visit to Dr. Sood's office. Cathy, the woman who cleaned my teeth, did a great job and gave me pointers about where I was lacking in my flossing. They also measured the distance between my gums and teeth -- never had that done before! I need to go back for a filling, which another dentist just told me not to worry about and that I didn't need one. I didn't think that was right at the time. I also had come with a bad headache and the staff were very friendly, helpful and understanding. They asked if I was still up for the appointment and I said yes. Great first dental experience in Chicago !!! My wisdom teeth had been hurting really bad. So, my friend gave me a reference to Dr. Sood. It was easy to get an appointment the very next day. My appointment was at 11:15 AM and I arrived a little earlier (as I was told) to fill up some paperwork. I had to wait for 10 mins and then I was taken for a panoramic X-ray. The assistant was friendly and since it was my first time, she helped me understand the procedure. Then I sat in a room for 5 mins (some good music and magazines to look over) before the doctor arrived. Dr. Sood was friendly and listened to me carefully before he started looking at my teeth. He suggested that I should get my 2 wisdom tooth removed. He asked me if I wanted to get the teeth removed the very same day and then helped me get an appointment with a dental surgeon. Overall, a very good experience I would definitely recommend Dr. Sood to my friends. Advice - I read some negative comments about billing. I suggest that if you have a dental insurance, then you should call your insurer to make sure you are covered. As a customer you have every right to know the cost of your treatment. So please ask the assistant about the cost and talk to your insurer to avoid any last minute surprises. read more

Upon moving into the city, I had a hard time letting go of my family dentist in the 'burbs. But a coworker recommended Dr. sood and I LOVE this office! Dr. Sood and his staff our great. They always take me on time and I am in and out for a routine cleaning in 30 minutes...and never feel like they rushed through my appointment. I'm glad Dr. Sood is getting good ratings, because he was pretty cool. My experiences with him were fine, and he had a nice, dry sense of humor. But the hygienist (is that what they are called?) was kind of put out that she had to she had to do some serious scrapin'. Yes, it's my fault that I waited two years to go to a dentist, but I was just out of college and as a kid, they took us pretty much only when we were in pain. Anyway, she kept huffing and carrying on, and the entire thing was kind of funny (rude people are funny, I think--or perhaps it's best to see them that way). The real problem was that she tried to charge me twice what it was for a cleaning. The only reason I went to Dr. Sood was because he put a coupon in the Reader for a $40 cleaning. The hygienist charged me $80. I'd like to say that I threw $40 down on the table and, before leaving, made a memorably snide remark, but I wrote a check for $80. He was always willing to work with my lack of insurance and fluctuating income, outlining what should be done immediately and what could be considered when I could afford it. I started seeing Dr. Sood maybe a year and a half ago. I had recently moved to the neighborhood and thought I'd look for a new dentist as my previous one was nothing special. I was at P.S. Nails across the street and saw a card for Dr. Sood, noticed that it was around the corner from my house, and decided to give it a try. Dr. Sood is wonderful, but my first impression was that he has a wonderful staff working with him. His dental hygienists are excellent and personable. I've never had to wait- they are always running on time. They are also very accommodating with changes in appointments. About 2 weeks ago the wire on my permanent retainer (I have a wire glued on the back of my bottom teeth to keep them from moving back to where they want to go) popped off on one side. My mouth was raw at the end of the day from the wire jabbing the inside of my cheek and tongue but I eventually ended up cutting off the wire that had come loose. I still needed the rest of the wire taken off and a new one put on. I called three local orthodontists to see if they could see me ASAP. None of them had any appointments within two weeks and none of them seemed to take patients after 2pm. I called Dr. Sood's office thiniking they could refer me to someone but the receptionist said she thought Dr. Sood could deal with the retainer. They got me in within the week, at 5pm (and charged me $100 less than I was quoted by the other orthos). I was in and out in under an hour, voila! Lifesaver! I'd recommend Dr. Sood to everyone- from start to finish it is always a good experience. read more

I have been going to Dr. Sood for about 4 years now, and I can honestly say he's a dentist that actually cares about the well being of your mouth. I've highly recommend Dr. Sood to everyone I know, and the ones that have taken my advice are also extremely satisfied. After having some really terrible experiences with previous dentists, including being pressured into doing procedures that where unnecessary and eventually costing more money, as well as having one dentist take a lot of money and take off within a few days. Oh, thank God. I have finally found a dentist in the city that I trust. Dr. Sood was recommended to me by my boss. She gets very anxious about dental visits and had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Sood and his staff, and she strongly recommended him when I mentioned I needed to get to the dentist. Good word of mouth? Plus 1. I made an appointment for me and my husband. I thought it was strange that they scheduled us both for the same time, and I fully expected that we'd have to wait forever to get in. I was wrong. We got in to the office, and I had just enough time to write my name on the top of the new patient paperwork before they called me back for x-rays. Amazing! Dr. Sood wasn't in the day we were there, but it didn't matter. The dental hygenists that saw me and my husband were careful, gentle and smart. They went over things that I have never talked about when visiting a dentist's office in 30 years of going to the dentist (which I found a bit disturbing but at least I got the information now). I left feeling happy and motivated to really take care of my teeth and gums and actually looking forward to my next visit. Crazy, I know. My husband had a similar experience. We walked out of there and he said that he'd rate the experience a 10 out of 10. We are so happy to be under the care of Dr. Sood and his staff. read more

Dr. Sood is great. I have overheard him with his other patients he is always so lighthearted and kind to everyone. I really appreciate anyone who treats all their customers the same way. I also called him on a Saturday night about pain after a filling and he called me back the next morning eventhough I said it wasnt an emergency. He didn't seem the least bit bothered and took care of the problem the very next day (nothing was wrong with the filling- it just needed to be shaved down a bit to make my bite more comfortable). After he fixed it I the pain disappeared by the next day. He also took care of cleaning my bite guard and didnt charge me anything. You can just tell that Dr. Sood genuinely cares about his patients and about providing the best service. read more

Dr. Sood's office was recommended to me by a co-worker when I was looking for a new dentist close to home. He and his staff are really great! I know many people can get dentist anxiety but they are so good with explaining everything they are doing up front to ease any of that worry. They were very helpful, had good customer service and it was a good atmosphere to be in. I was also given a referral to an orthodonist to fix a permanent bottom retainer when I asked. I haven't been to see Dr. Sood in a couple years now (my laziness mixed with never having trouble with teeth) but was pleased with the service I did receive. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The office has a comfortable setting as well. My first trip was a bit of an emergency when a wisdom tooth got infected. He quickly diagnosed the problem, showed me in detail what he saw, and helped setup an appointment with an oral surgeon for the following day to get the teeth removed. This was quite helpful as I was in considerable pain. I've also had some other cleanings and it was as pleasant as going to a dentist can be. Never was pressured into other procedures and was given honest, straightforward answers. Pricewise it seemed in line with other places in the neighborhood. If you're looking for a good dentist in the area, I'd give him a shot. The next time I get off my lazy butt for a cleaning, I'll be using him. read more

My previous review doesn't do Dr. Sood's office enough justice. Having recently switched jobs (and insurance), I have found that it is absolutely impossible to find a decent dentist in the city of Chicago. I have tried two different dentists (after Dr. Sood), and I can't even compare them because despite having made several appointments, I have not yet been able to see one! Today, I showed up at my "new" assigned dentists' office for an appointment that was scheduled 3 months in advance, only to find the office was closed! Yes, closed. No notice, advance warning, nothing. This kind of crap never happened at Dr. Sood's office. I'm seriously contemplating just canceling insurance altogether, and simply paying out of pocket for dental services here. read more

I have been a patient of Dr.Sood's for 3 years and am continually impressed with the care that I receive. I have a general fear of dentists. Just the whining and whirring sound of the drill is enough to make my hair stand on end. All that changed when I met Dr. Sood. He is EXTREMELY kind, friendly and professional. I have been to quite a few dentists in my life and he is by far the best. There is a lot of easy street parking in the area, which makes things very convenient. The waiting area is very comfortable and has never (since I have been going there for the last year) been full. Dr. Sood and his staff make you feel like a PATIENT and not just another number. They are absolutely wonderful. Plus, they take Delta Dental, which a lot of dentists in the area don't accept. Dr. Sood is an incredibly down to Earth, efficient and caring dentist. Hands down the best dental practice I've ever been to! The entire staff is friendly and the wait time has been minimal with each visit. I know it sounds crazy but appointments don't feel like a hassle anymore. I've been going to Dr. Sood's office for over 3 years now and cant think of 1 bad thing to say.. The office is very clean (im big on that) and its in a great location-i could always find street parking. I've been afraid to go to the dentist let alone search for one since moving to Chicago. Even worse one of my crowns came off and I knew I had to find a dentist fast. Very, Very good. I've been to 3 different U.S. dentists in the last 2 years, am unemployed, have no insurance and like to be treated like a human being. Most people don't like going to the dentist; I, however, am not one of those people. I love getting my teeth cleaned, so I really look forward to my biannual trips to Dr. Sood's. I've been seeing him for over 2 years, and believe me, it was hard to move to Chicago and realize that I needed to find a new doctor and dentist when I'm so comfortable with the ones I had in St. Louis. Finding a good dentist is tough - you have to trust that person digging around in your mouth! I was referred to Dr. Sood by an emergency room physician after a sidewalk relieved me of my two front teeth. Dr. Sood and his staff were extremely accommodating, and he did an amazing job with my replacement teeth. In fact, a woman who saw the scrape on my face told me I was lucky that nothing happened to my teeth! I have been back for maintenance of my cute little falsies, as well as regular cleanings. In fact, as I am typing this, my face is still a little numb from the work I had done today - but it is fading away nicely rather than leaving me on pins and needles. The staff at the office is super friendly, and every time I have been there my appointment has commenced precisely at its scheduled time. All of the rooms also have great views of the LP area. Plus, they have valet parking! If you are having a hard time finding a dentist, I recommend Dr. Sood. I have seen Dr. Sood for 10 years. Dr. Sood runs a fantastic dental practice. I've never had to wait in the waiting room and they always call and mail reminders. Billing is a breeze. I particularly like his dental hygienist team. Kathy and Lavoynette have been the two I have seen most and both are skilled and careful. I have gone back and forth on how to deal with this and have even discussed it with a few people. A day after I wrote my review, Dr. Sood contacted me at my work to discuss it. Even though I find this quite unprofessional (and a bit disturbing), I am upping the stars to 3 in order to keep the peace. This doesn't change the service I received and neither would discussing it. I know I've already given Dr. Sood a 5 star review, but I wish I could give him a ten star review. My parents were in from NY for Thanksgiving and my mom broke her tooth. After trying to deal with the pain for a couple of days I decided to give Dr. Sood a call to see if he could help her out or offer any suggestions on how to ease the pain. Dr. Sood came in on the day after thanksgiving to fix my mom's tooth, like, literally came from his home and opened the office just for her. Now my mom can finally enjoy her vacation.
