They greet you with warmth and kindness, and you are seen right on time for your appointment because Dr. K individually works on one patient at a time, giving you his full attention instead of bouncing from room to room like some other dentists do. I was told by previous dentist that i needed all this work done but once i found Dr. kim he told me I didn't even need half the work done that I was told.. He is very gentle and I have not had any problems.. he does his best to try and save your tooth before having to do any major work.. I highly recommend him. I cannot express my gratitude on how caring and compassionate this doctor and his staff are. The whole experience was great! Going to the dentist is not an easy experience for many. I sincerely fear the dentist and I had avoided going to the dentist for a very long time. A few days ago I started to experience a sharp pain on one of my wisdom teeth. I tried to ignore it but I couldn't any longer. My husband had gone to Dr. Kim in the past so I called to see if he could see me. Fortunately enough, I was able to be seen. Long story short my wisdom tooth was not only broken but also infected. Dr. Kim took the proper steps to take care of me. The procedure itself was painless!!!! Of course after you are a bit sore but the removal was done with so much care. When he was done removing it I was in disbelief on how fast and painless it was. I highly recommend this dentist. I don't love going to the dentist but Dr. Kim and the front desk manager, Nora and assistants have completely changed my perceptions of "going to the dentist". I've gone to Dr. Kim for over 3 years now for different services. Dr. Kim provides great advice with only you in mind and is very gentle to ensure that you're in as little pain as possible. While it might not be the fanciest of places, the amount of care and detail that is provided is much more valuable to me. Had my first appointment yesterday after being referred to them by my cousin. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. I don't have dental insurance, but they offer a package for x-rays and a cleaning for $120, which is so reasonable. One major perk is that they use an ultrasonic scaler to clean your teeth instead of the old school metal pick, which was a lot more comfortable for me. I was referred by my mom and decided to check it out. I needed two cavities replaced. Parking was a breeze, available just right outside. The paperwork was also smooth. I was there on time for my appointment and was seen right away! He took a peek told me what was needed. Over the years I've had to move to several different cities and had the need to visit several other dental offices. These other dental offices were shiny and new, full of the latest fanciest equipment, and I'd see the dentist for maybe a full minute who'd assess that I'd need this and that taken care of, oh and my plaque build up is heavier than average so I'll need to come in for teeth cleanings every 3 months instead of the usual 6. What do I know? So I did and my insurance was charged up the yin yang plus I'd have to pay out of pocket for other services that were deemed necessary by these dental offices. And their receptionists would constantly call to remind me about my appointments and how apocalyptic it'd be if I were to show up late or cancel last minute. Uhhh yeah no more of that bs for me anymore. Since then I've moved back to the greater la area and I'm going to Dr. Kim for my dental needs for the rest of my life/until he retires. He said my plaque build up is average and it wouldn't be the end of the earth if I were to be late for my 6mo cleanings! My god...for years I've felt so much anxiety thinking that if I were to let 3 months go by before a cleaning I'd be facing another $1000+ deep clean procedure. Now I see Dr. Kim every 6mos, my teeth have felt fine and he hasn't recommended any special procedures for any made up problems, and best of all, I feel none of that former anxiety because I know I'm not being conned by some predatory dental office anymore. Dr. Kim and his entire staff are extremely warm and nice and know me by name - I definitely don't feel like just some other nameless faceless patient of theirs here. That's a pretty amazing feeling! This does mean the office is very small and run down - the equipment looks old and the bathroom is small. But everything looks very clean and well taken care of and in my mind it's more proof that this office is honest and earnest. Dr. Kim is an unsung gem. I can't recommend more highly! read more

I HATE the dentist. I haven't gone in, well...let's just say I haven't gone in a very long time. I went to Dr. Kim because of the reviews and my husband goes to him too. I had a toothache and they took me right away, first appointment of the day. Unfortunately, with my non-upkeep of my oral health, they could not save my tooth due to bone loss. I was devastated. While the process of extracting the tooth was as bad as to be expected, I felt NO pain, not even the shot for the numbing. Apparently, I have "deep" roots so it took a little. But Dr. Kim was as gentle as can be and asked me constantly (in a good way) if I was okay. The staff was great. Both ladies knew I was nervous and they assured me Dr. Kim was very nice. And nice he was. Not a fake nice, but a sincere nice. He did not make me feel bad for not taking better care of my teeth. He also showed empathy when he had to tell me that I was losing my tooth. He was direct, to the point, got in, got out but at the same time was nice and made me feel comfortable; never embarrassed for not taking care of my teeth. I go next week for a deep cleaning and filling, yuck....but I learned my lesson and will NOT miss an appointment. Oh, the office. As in other reviews...the office looks a little outdated and a bit odd; like at one time is was a house. But everything was clean and the instruments all in their individual, sterile casings and that's all that matters to me. I would rather have a gentle caring doctor and staff with a simple office then one of those "cool" high tech offices with a doctor who sucked. Thank you, Dr. Kim and the two lovely ladies. Well, I just moved to Gardena and I needed to find a local dentist to get my way overdue dental check up. Thanks to yelp, I found Dr.Kim and unlike the other dental reviews, Dr.Kim had the most consistent, positive reviews. He even has a web site where you can read about his bio, his staff, and you can easily book appointments online. Dr. Kim's humble practice is on the corner of Crenshaw and 154th St. The small waiting lounge is a little outdated but comes equipped with plenty of magazines and a ceiling mounted tv. The receptionist is pleasant and accommodating. The individual patient rooms are clean and each have a ceiling-mounted tv. Dr. Kim, himself, is a young doctor who is, among other things, very polite,accommodating, informative, and thorough. I've visited his office for a regular cleaning, 2 cavities appointments, and a deep cleaning. I have another one scheduled for a orthodontic consultation later too. But during the whole process, he is always asking if you are OK, the assistant is right there by his side sucking up all the water & saliva, and he's fast! He even took the time after to show me how to properly brush. Who knew, after all these years, I will incorrectly brushing my teeth. He actually advised me to get the electronic toothbrush. My childhood dentist, I thought, was the reincarnation of Hitler! Being a patient of Dr. Kim definitely takes away all my childhood fears of going to the dentist. I've been coming to Dr. Kim's dental office over the past few years for cleanings, about once every 6 months or so. Used to have Blue Cross Dental PPO insurance before I switched over to Delta Dental PPO. This dental office takes both insurances, I believe. Really caring, helpful, and professional staff. Dr. Kim has been my primary dentist here. Dr. Kim always does a great job with cleanings (pain-free and discomfort-free), is a very sincere and honest person, and employs dental assistants who are very kind and efficient as well. I hate going to the dentist, I've been to many when I was younger and had a lot of bad experiences with dentists. So I avoided it for a while. It's been almost 9 years and I just moved to Torrance, so it's time to go. I read up on all the yelp reviews and gave it a shot. I have to say I feel stress-free going here. The staffs are all friendly and professional. And the Doctor is always checking to see how I was doing. I've been here three times now. The first time I went, I did a check up which is not expensive. I'm used to check up being in the hundreds just for a simple x-ray. The second and third time I went, was to fill my cavities. The doctor and the staffs really put you at ease. They talk to you. And you know they care about their patients. I've been to other dentists, where they just gossip to each other and you have to just lie there and listen to the whole thing. At Doctor's Kim Dentists, they are focus on you. So it helps. :D It also helps that I don't feel pain. I've been to other places where the numbing doesn't work and I would feel the whole mouth surgery. -_-' But Doctor Kim is patient and gentle. The office is a little outdated, but the equiment is clean and up to date. That's all that matters :) As long as I have a great experience from going to the dentist, I have no problem. I went in today for the first time because the other dentist office I was going to was taking forever with booking appointments due to Covid and according to them one of my tooth was infected and weren't sure if it could be saved and that I needed a deep cleaning and I needed to get my wisdom removed so I was paranoid because of all this "specially the "infected tooth". I needed to see a dentist asap and a second opinion and this is the reason I decided to look for another dentist and found Dr Kim. I woke up all nervous wondering what he would say (I hate dental procedures) after he saw my x rays he said I just needed a regular cleaning and a filing replacement and my wisdom teeth were not necessary to remove because they've grown out straight unless they were bothering me. Let me start by saying " I hate the dentist" . My last experience with a new dentist was horrible. He was rude and unprofessional. Insert Dr. Kim. He was recommended by a coworker. My first appt was 4/27 he examine me and told me the work that need to be done.He also cleaned my teeth. I already knew I needed a few things done. He broke it down from most important to least. First on the agenda was a extraction of a molar that was cracked. The extraction was scheduled for 5/4/18. Upon arrival I was informed by the receptionist the doctor also recommendeds a wisdom tooth extraction (which was already on the list) on the same side since I was going have anesthesia already. I told them to go ahead. Let me tell you I was in and out in 45mins the anesthesia took longer to kick in that Dr. Kim took to do both extractions. I didnt feel a thing I didnt realize he had taken them both out. Not a single ounce of pain. Dr. Kim is friendly, honest and gentle. He does not try to sell you on unnecessary procedures. His staff is also very friendly. I think its only 4 of them. I always find the smaller practices to be better. I am a patient for life.
