The residential suburb of Harris Park is located 22 km west of the Sydney central business district, just before Parramatta. I can't believe how this place has built up with HUGE residential buildings.
The Harris Park railway station is on the Western line. It opened up in 1883. Nowadays there are four rail tracks and two island platforms. Always wondered why there was a station here as it's so close to Parramatta. Still wonder that today. It's more than a stone's throw, but less than an RPG. Were palms greased in the late 1800's? Did an influential person have a house here? Did people want a shorter walk to Marion Street? (most will miss this reference). Perhaps we will never know.
Can't believe I'm reviewing this place. Of course I don't have a picture. Are you kidding me? read more
