Showed up early and even worked late as needed in this very hot September weather in Texas. Totally delivered on everything they promised and we did too. We treated them to lunch 3 days and topped it off with a bonus 30-pack of beer each after the job was completed. Even encouraged them to swim in the pool afterwards. I believe in rewarding people for their hard work. They also had the best price for the best value from the 3 different quotes we got. Brandon says he loves what he does and looks forward to doing it every day. He even routered the edge of the boards right next to the pool, the steps, and the rails to give everything a nice smooth look and feel. I would highly recommend Smith County Contracting for any and all of your construction and building needs!

They…read moredid do a good job on first small project but since then hired them again and it has been a battle from start. Paid 1/2 up front so could buy materials, this was on Tuesday. Project was paint, make repairs, build new steps, and other smaller things to my house. Got money on Tuesday didn't come back till the next Monday with no supplies. Said since his business was 1 1/2 hour away from my house that would cut into working time. Remember he worked for me before at same place but now 3 hours driving time is factor in work time and purchasing supplies time. He rarely showed up before 11 am and left by 3 pm. He had to ask for more advance money because spent my money on truck repairs and so couldn't buy any paint. Already 2 weeks in so had to trust him or would loose $7000 and work barely done. The whole project was only supposed to be two weeks. Kept moving from one area to another never quite finishing an area. When got to painting chimney told us rotten. We agreed to additional $2800 to repair, replace, and make safe. Put it in writing too. His ideal of safe was to use particle board and pressed wood. When chimney man came to check told us would probably catch fire. When confronted him he was rude and argumentative so we asked him to finish what we had paid for and leave. We had luckily on paid $1400 on chimney so not out full amount of extra project but had already paid full amount in house repair. 5 days later came back to do this but only fixed couple things and left. We now have to pay someone to finish what we paid him for originally let alone the mess with chimney being unsafe. We have everything written out but can't afford to pursue in court because having to finish his leftovers. So beware of this business He is now harassing me with text messages.

They did a terrific job. During the February freeze when 4 pipes burst and flooded the first floor, they dropped everything to get out there to save the house. I really had high hopes for this business as they have a good reputation in the community. I…read morecontacted the Hamilton Group because I am wanting to remodel my home. The owner came to my home looked over the house and I told him what we wanted done. He said he didn't know if he could do all we wanted with our budget. So I up'd our budget by 10K. When he got ready to leave he told me that someone from his business would be contacting me in a couple of weeks to come out and take some measurements and that if I had not heard from them within 3 weeks to give him a call, you have my cell phone number. Well, when I did not hear from anyone from him or his business within 3 weeks I called his office and was told he was in a meeting, so I left a message asking him to call me. The lady who answered the phone said it could be the next morning before he returned my call. I waited several days and he never called me. So, I called his cell phone and left a voicemail. I waited a few days and when he did not return my call I called his cell phone again, this time he answered. He told me he was in a meeting and would call me back in 30 minutes. That was over a week ago. In my view he is very unprofessional.

While we never used this company for any work, their phone skills and office personnel are…read moreextremely lacking in professionalism. We scheduled an appointment for an estimate and they did not show up. When our realtor, who was meeting them there, called to ask where they were, they got rude and said we never set an appointment up. When she said we did and she made the 30 minute drive just to meet them there, the receptionist/office manager said, "Well, that's not my problem," and hung up on her. I called back and was quickly handed over to James the owner. When he started raising his voice and being rude to me, I had to tell him I was not being rude so there was no reason for him to be rude. He changed his tone then, but was not apologetic and said that we were the ones at fault and there was nothing he could do to help us out. He said I have highly efficient office managers and they didn't get this wrong. Apparently, sir, they did get this wrong as you lost a customer. I could have overlooked their mistake because they are people and we all make mistakes, but their lack of care, concern, and all around politeness instead earned them this review. I have never made a bad review of anything before because honestly I don't like to hurt the business of other people. I allow for mistakes and off days. This was more than a mistake, it was an attitude problem and issue.
