I had an appointment to talk with my regular Doctor Jane Harrington NOT her husband Dr. Fritz regarding possibly changing the antidepressant she had previously prescribed me to something else. When I got to the office a STUDENT nurse practitioner who I had never met before told me that Dr. Jane was out sick so she would be seeing me. This is the second time i've had an appointment with my regular doctor only to be told on arrival that she is not there. The NP brought me into an exam room and pulled out a printed off the internet sheet of depression questions (I was not there to be diagnosed) and then informed me I should try counseling. When I told her I had done that in the past and the purpose of my visit was to discuss an alternative antidepressant she left the room to go and talk to Dr. Fritz and get his opinion on another antidepressant. Through the door I could hear him tell everyone in the reception area and waiting room that I need to go to see a counsellor and that they "do not have time for that here" along with other details of my personal information being discussed in a extremely nasty way. Keep in mind Dr. Fritz is not even my MD his wife Dr. Jane. The Nurse practitioner then returns to my exam room with the business card of a counsellor. I left the office in tears and will never be back. This is not the first time a patient's information has been discussed publicly in front of an audience at this office, and the last time I was there Dr. Fritz and his staff were loudly discussing a patient who was being baker acted for everyone to hear. Every single member of his staff is a complete gossip and talk about every patient as soon as they are out of the door. I myself work for a doctor and have never seen such a level of unprofessional nastiness in a medical setting and I am reporting this practice for HIPAA violation. They also just Web MD your symptoms to diagnose anything and cant explain anything to you that couldn't be found off a google search. Dr. Fritz should probably go back to being a pharmacist. read more
