Harrell's installed a new battery in my car in 12/22. Starting in 12/23, due to a defect in my 2017 Sant Fe engine, the Hyundai dealership in Fayetteville needed to replace my engine. Today, 1/26/24, the dealership said my 1 yr old battery ( with a 30 month replacement guarantee) was dead and needed replaced at a cost of over $300! I said "Don't do it". When talking with Harrell's, I asked to pick up a new one to take to dealership and, of course, return the old battery to them. That would have meant about an hour and 20 minute round trip for me. Harrell's said NO! They would be happy to take the new battery to Fayetteville FOR me and swap it out for me, within the hour! Wow! I was really impressed! I didn't expect that! Incompetence in abundance at this place after the owner change and less services. Before they changed ownership service was great and they performed motorcycle inspections. Today I watched as a customer was told they apologize for spraying oil all over his engine bay and then he left....he had to come back because they forgot to put his engine cover on. I came in to have a tire looked at, I specifically told them front driver's side, and explained that I wanted it noted, because last time they did they checked the wrong tire. So after the fiasco above, I noticed my truck is on the lift and they're using the impact on my passenger front tire...WTF?! So I asked, and was told he was sorry, he got distracted because of the engine cover guy. Complete and utter incompetence, stay away. This was a great shop under previous ownership ! I came in for an inspection today and was told the wait would be an hour. There was only one other customer waiting ahead of me. Under the previous owners the waiting room was full and you could still get prompt service. The tires I ended up buying 2.5 hours to Mount 4 new tires ?!? Bottom line you can probably do better locally and not wait all day for what should be prompt service. Especially when the place is empty. read more

i was not pleased with there service , I was told that since the company changed the service is not the same , women please be warned take someone with you cause they will pull one over on you, yes I have an older car but I swear i have taken it back for the same repair over and over, I swear I believe that when I do take it back all they are doing is turning the engine light off . soon as two days later light comes right back on !!!! I took my car in for a diagnostic, a day and a half later and $100+, they returned my vehicle with the issue, but with the exhaust manifold heat cover smashed into place, not fitted, hand loose bolts, multiple retention clips for my wire harness ignored and freely floating, and the screw for the battery cover not even half way screwed in. I brought photos to the shop with comparisons to when I fixed it to show the clips work, the heat cover fit snug to the manifold, and the bolts surely go all the way in; all I was given was an apology, and the affirmation that they will "talk to the mechanic". This was the first time I brought a vehicle here, and definitely the last. read more

I spoke to a service advisor Chris Balling about getting a front wheel alignment on my daughter's truck. I explained that I did some work on the front end, I also explained that I had some more work and just need the alignment only. After agreeing he prints me out an estimate. When my daughter gets there and speaks to him, he still insists on the camber kit, and she agrees. After 4 days I drive the truck and it is pulling hard to the right. She goes back to get them to redo their work and they want to recharge her for the service and now blaming body mount bushings on the problem of the truck pulling to the right. I have owned this truck since 2003. I have had only two alignments at ford and no camber kit required. He over charged her $210.15 plus the $109.99 for what we agreed on. It's unfortunate that Harrells is now associated with M&B. I was warned that M&B was horrible but I went anyway thinking new management meant better service. I was wrong! I paid $700 only to angrily drive away without the problem being fixed. I was warned that M&B will "nickel and dime" their repairs and that's exactly what happened. First it was rear (not fixed), then the front (not fixed), then the sensors. When they quoted a $3000 cost, I took my car to another mechanic who fixed it same day. Not the problem M&B said and it was and definitely not $3000. Im sure they would've gladly taken my money and told me about another repair needs when I brought it back again. I hope Harrells looks into the practices of M&B and takes concerns seriously. I was angry with myself for not heeding the warning of friends who experienced M&B before. Lesson learned. read more

I went for my scheduled oil change and also asked for tire rotation. They completed that. I received a call stating that my differential oil was leaking and needed to be replaced, provided me with the estimated costs. I declined at this time to have it completed, because I had NEVER seen any oil on my driveway nor garage from my vehicle. I was telling the woman that on the phone, but she kept going on and on about how it should be replaced. I picked up my vehicle, drove it home and went to drive it later in the day, noticed oil on my driveway. Someone took a look at it and in fact; the oil plug thread was showing, which should not have. Also the rear differential had one bolt loosened, but had to tighten four. Being a woman they thought they could pull one over on me. I maintain vehicle and am observant with any issues. Needless to say, very disappointed customer who will NOT return to this establishment. read more

My whole experience from start to finish was trash. They had me come into the shop so that the correct parts could be ordered. I took time out of my work, and went to the shop in order for them to take a look at my vehicle. They wanted to keep it that day and do the brake repairs but I said I needed to come back the following day so I could figure out a ride with work. I returned the next day, dropped my vehicle off, and went back to work. I got a phone call at 4 PM saying they had ordered the wrong emergency brake and they would need to keep my car overnight. Mind you, this was a Thursday night and Friday we had plans to leave town in this vehicle. Long story short, I didn't get my car back until 5 PM on Friday and they charged me incorrectly. Oil Change vs Oil Drain Nice people but there is a serious problem with quality control. Work is never 100% complete. I picked up a car I had the A/C repaired on to find broken vents and extra screws just laying on the floor and molding missing. Yesterday I gave them another chance and went there for a battery terminal repair, battery check and while in the shop an oil change, all simple jobs. I was called an informed that my car stalls and asked if I wanted an engine diagnostic. I declined, nothing was wrong with the car when I brought it in except it needed a battery terminal and possibly a battery. I was told the battery tested good and I was all set. When I got there I paid for the repairs prior to inspecting the work. I jumped in the car and IT DOESN'T EVEN START. Terminal that was put on was not the OEM type I expected, the red protective insulator longer fits, it was not tight so I talked to the staff they were friendly enough to offer a jump but my car still will not start. After much debating they finally replaced the battery and it starts no stalling or anything. I leave the parking lot and my oil light is on. Pulled over checked the oil and there isn't a drop of oil in the engine. The manager tried to make it right but instead of and oil change all I received is an oil drain. read more

ABSOLUTELY terrible and dishonest!! Mistakenly diagnosed my truck and left parts in the engine causing catastrophic failure. Cost me over $6,000 to have fixed properly elsewhere. Original problem should have only cost $135 to fix. Tried to recover my money but they said they cant prove it was their fault. STAY AWAY!! This place is amazing! The owner/manager (I'm not sure) came out to look at my car multiple times because the check engine light kept coming on after a routine oil/filter change. He said all the plugs and tubes seemed fine and then focused on the MAF sensor (must have just been dirty or not connected all the way) and the problem seems to be fixed. But.. instead of pulling my car in for an 80-100 diagnostics to tell me the sensor was dirty, he came outside and did it himself. Amazing customer service. So pleased. Worst customer service and attitudes from employees!! Do not take your cars here unless you want to be scammed. I called on a Saturday to get a quote on an oil change and a check engine light test. The guy who answered said it would be Free for an initial check and if they found something they would still not charge for the test, but they would offer a $75 full diagnostic if they could not find anything and the oil change would be vary because it was high mileage. We took it in Monday and they told us they would have to keep it until the next day because they were full on other work that needed to be done. We said no thank you because my husband had to work the next day but we would bring it back on Wednesday. The guy seemed irritated but said ok. So, like we said he came back on Wednesday at 0700 and they told him they would still have to keep it all day and he needed to pay up front. They charged him $145.70!!! They made him pay for the diagnostic test without even doing the "free" check. My husband called me and let me know which I in turn told him that he was being ripped off and to get a refund and take it somewhere else. The employee got so mad that he told my husband "to get me in check and that he was a whipped bitch." They gave him a hard time about giving the refund and said that it wasn't possible. He asked to speak with another employee and was then helped in getting the refund. The original employee was still saying unprofessional things as he walked out the door. Mind you they charged him and never took the keys to the car either! I will not recommend this place to anyone ever and plan to let everyone I know how awful the service is. We took the car to Walmart for the oil change and got new wiper blades and a new air cabin filter for $58. Auto zone then performed an actual FREE check that came out to be an O2 sensor that can be fixed fairly easily. read more
