He estimated the work would take about an hour or less but never mentioned that we went over this time or communicating via email or phone would incur additional charges. To his credit, he did waive some of the charges after I raised my concerns, which I appreciated. However, I believe clear disclosure of rates and billing practices is essential, especially when working with first-time clients.
