Helped us out on a holiday weekend when our little pup got injured. Reasonable rates for an emergency where they stayed after hours too attend to him. This is a country vet, not a city hand-holding vet. Practical, get it done, thank you and have a nice day. Got a very kind check-in call a few days later. They offered to forward any data they had to our home vet in case healing wasn't going well. Overall I'd go there again in a heartbeat if I needed the help. read more

Take your business to the other vet clinic in town Sage Country Veterinary Service. Harney County Vet Clinic is run by impolite, discourteous people. I rarely write reviews so the fact that I'm taking my time to tell you how RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL this business is should tell you just how much you need to avoid Harney County Vet Clinic. I do not live in Burns but have been here for the past many weeks taking care of my mother. I had called ahead to HCVC to get a simple fecal sample tested for my dog so the vet already knew that I am an out-of-towner. When I arrived and opened the door to the clinic, I said a very warm "good morning" and was met immediately by the receptionist with these hateful words, "What are you doing in my community besides spreading COVID?" The receptionist didn't even bother with a "hello" before jumping into a series of questions, grilling me about my reasons for being in her community, where my family lived, what my mother's last name is, etc., all the while grinning with an obviously fake smile. This person, and the business itself, is incredibly unwelcoming of outsiders, rude to those who they don't already know, and not worth receiving a dime of your money. If you have any concern for treating your fellow citizens with common decency, take your business to the other vet clinic in town Sage Country Veterinary Service, located less than five minutes away. SCVC is well-run, friendly, and accommodating to any of your pet or animal needs. DO NOT go to Harney County Vet Clinic. You have been warned. read more

I guess they can afford to be rude in their fancy building in the midst of a town in such economic shambles. Plus, I looked for another veterinarian and there didn't seem to be one. I was passing through town and my dog was sick. I came into to ask for help and was treated very rudely. The receptionist didn't seem to CARE about my dog, causing me to go in tears back to my car. I called my regular vet's office and they gave the advice that this woman didn't care to. You would think that the receptionist would have some compassion for animals and their owners. read more

I love these guys & gals! I have had the misfortune of finding myself in the need of emergency vet care while camping outside of Burns. Both times, the staff were kind, helpful, and took excellent care of my dogs. Most recently, my dog was injured during July 4th weekend - not only did their on-call vet answer my call immediately, she was able to meet me without delay - this is at 6 am on a Sunday of a holiday weekend! Incredible! Big shout out to Dr. Masey My dog was all patched up and good to go and we were able to enjoy the rest of our trip. If I lived in the area, these guys would be my go-to people for sure. read more

Dr. Custis at Harney County Veterinary Clinic helped my cat when she had a kidney infection that came out of nowhere. We were traveling through and she was not behaving like her usual chipper self. I called this clinic which was the nearest one to where we were and they did a physical exam, x-rayed her abdomen, and took a blood sample. After 24 hours on antibiotics my cat was much stronger and eating and drinking on her own. They boarded her for several days, gave her a sunny room with a view to recuperate in and were very professional and compassionate. I also appreciated that they accepted my cat's personality, which is that she doesn't like pills and needles. They were able to swiftly put her into a burrito using her cat bed that she liked sitting upon, which made the process of medicating her go very smoothly. read more
