Another same-day Friday start to a vacation for Calvin leaving his patients "high and dry" presumably to have to proactively call and reschedule, because you know, that's what REAL doctors do. This guy is such a sham and to be avoided and it's simply comical at this point he's not only updating me on his ill planned vacations with his patients but hasn't tHe 30 seconds to remove me from his database. Some people can't be saved from their own stupidity. It's worth noting that the fake account his office used to combat my legitimate initial negative review (oddly the singular other review that exists here, posted on the same day I posted mine) still only has one review. So all this to say, if you are about a "Dr" willing to sacrifice their integrity publicly here on Yelp to avoid accountability and a fair representation of consumer experiences, THIS is your quack. It's worth noting that although this may seem trivial, the FTC feels very strongly about it and it's nothing short of illegal. Luckily I deal with this professionally in my career and have a standing quarterly call with the office wishing the FTC that handles review manipulation. My experience with Dr. Micheal J. Given was frustrating and unnecessarily stressful. I was…read morerepeatedly told my condition was serious and required urgent action, yet when I asked for clarification, a written list of lab orders, or for results to be uploaded to my chart so I could review them myself, I was told the office was too busy. He sent me for blood tests I had already completed, and when I called to ask whether that was a mistake or medically necessary, I was told, "If you don't want to take them again, don't." The issue was not willingness. It was whether the repeat testing was actually needed. A follow up telehealth appointment lasted about 22 minutes and did not meaningfully review my results (the whole reason for the appointment). I later had to confirm on my own that a significant test was normal. When I asked about an abnormal gene result, I was told to "look it up on the world wide web." After researching it myself, I learned that the severity is typically determined by testing a level associated with the gene. I repeatedly asked about that testing the level and received NO response. (When I later saw a new pulmonologist, that was the FIRST step recommended.) During the same telehealth visit, he asked whether I was on oxygen. As a pulmonologist managing my care, that information should already have been known. When I asked whether I should be on oxygen, the response suggested that the question itself was unreasonable rather than offering any medical explanation. He also suggested that I consider quitting my job (I travel for work) because of this situation, despite the fact that I rely on my employment for health insurance. Recommending that I leave my job before there was a clear diagnosis or full understanding of my condition was not practical guidance and felt disproportionate to the information available at the time. ALSO, duplicate claims were processed through my insurance for the same services, which added additional stress. After transferring care to a new pulmonologist, I have learned that my condition is far less severe than it was initially presented by Dr. Given. The difference in communication, professionalism, and overall approach has been night and day with my new pulmonologist. Based on my experience, I would not return.

But they have the labs, which is what providers use to determine whether the prescription is warranted. Statins are literally the most prescribed medication in the US and they have all the evidence to validate a simple refill but are trying to force me to pay a significant out of pocket expense to get it.

Residents expect and usually get the best there. I learned to not expect that in Okaloosa County, FL. But Gulf Coast Immediate Care ALWAYS services nearly as close to the best care that I've received in the great Northeast. I had to visit 4 times over 2.5 yrs. They no longer have weekend hours, however. So if you like this place, plan well for weekday walk-ins before 4PM now. I also recommend HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital Emergency over Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Emerald Coast for reasons of accuracy and attention to detail. Although both had friendly staff.

Then when you've determined a date and time, the attendant gives you all of the preparatory steps verbally over the phone. The center doesn't or won't send you instructions via the portal or email. You have to write down the address of the particular facility where your procedure will take place and how much time before your appointment you're expected to arrive to fill out paperwork. There are no appointment reminders or confirmations. It's just crazy. My physician's office doesn't work this way. They're able to send me info when I schedule an appointment, have me check in online beforehand, remind me when I need to be somewhere, and let me know exactly where it is I need to go. In the future when I need some type of medical test, I plan to get it done elsewhere.

I even underwent two surgeries. After moving to Florida, I was extremely hesitant to switch providers, so for years I continued traveling over 8 hours back to Georgia for appointments. Because of that history, I was initially unsure about seeing a PA instead of an MD. But Jonathan Needler exceeded every expectation I had -- and then some. Jonathan's attention to patients is truly exceptional. He listens fully, without interrupting, and takes the time to understand every detail before offering thoughtful, knowledgeable guidance. What impressed me most is that he was able to answer several questions that specialists in Georgia -- MDs -- could not answer. More than once, I heard "I have no idea" from previous doctors, yet Jonathan immediately understood the issues and provided clear explanations and helpful suggestions. I am genuinely grateful that I scheduled a visit with him. My only regret is not doing it sooner. I spent four years traveling long distances to see specialists, when right here in Florida I could have been treated by someone far more attentive, informed, and effective. I started out seeing Dr. Schmidt who retired and now I see Dr. Moore. Dr. Schmidt's Nurse was Alicia who is still at the clinic and she is great! She always offered me great advice and was very good at helping me communicate with the doctor. Dr. Moore is very intelligent and professional while having a great bedside manner that is personable and reassuring. I feel so safe with her as my doctor that I have transferred my teenager (who has a genetic disease) to her care as well. Dr. Moore's Nurse Angie is very kind. They both go the extra mile to listen and make you feel heard. Angie is very good at returning phone calls promptly- sometimes into the evening hours. Ashley is great at setting up referrals and is very patient with my individual preferences. Melissa at the front desk makes me smile every time I visit as well as Lily. They are both so friendly! So is Selina who is not at the front anymore but is sometimes at a desk in the back. Lynn is the office manager and she has helped me with many things! I love her professionalism while still being relatable and kind. The clinic is able to draw labs in house which is helpful if your visit is earlier in the day. They book appointments pretty far out but if you have an acute issue they will get you in quickly. There is not a better staff and practice in this area or better yet in any of the many areas I've traveled. If they are taking new patients, you should definitely get an appointment! ‍

My Dad had a brain bleed and was already (due to delays in the ER) already bleeding from his nose and ears. I don't believe my Dad had a chance given this information. The family only found this out by reading the surgical note. It was also noted that my dad drank alcohol. My Dad never even drank a beer. Poor follow up, bad preop communication, inaccurate medical history documentation. He may be good with backs but he's no brain surgeon.
