Often at times you'll have the floor to yourself (which is kept in great shape) and have exclusive use of the sound system. When the floor is busy we've often been allowed in the smaller rooms (I only dance Latin anyway) at no additional cost or detriment. The only detriment to it now I see are the Friday night socials, which only allow newbies or those registered for their classes to go. Considering a few of my friends are in them and often go to this social, I'm kind of left out. On the other hand though, I could just as easily register for a class and go... The rest of the socials are great, but they do cater to an older crowd then you would typically at a bar scene. In summary: This is a great place for top dancesport competitors and people totally new to the ballroom scene.

When my daughter wanted to start tap lessons, she was a little older than most kids and she didn't want to be in a beginner class with all 6 year olds.  BPA had a beginner adult/teen class that was perfect.  She learned so much with Mark in one year she skipped a level the next year. My daughter loved it here so much she would get up early on Saturdays to help out as an assistant in a dance class for the little kids before her own ballet class. Elisa and Mark are professionals from Broadway, TV and film so they are very talented and are excellent teachers but also have a warm and fun environment.   My daughter is in college now training to be an actor and I know Elisa and Mark's teaching and encouragement helped her make it to college

It's just the right balance of training and fun for my daughter. She does a combo ballet/tap/hip hop class and loves it. The sisters/owners are amazing, they are just so kind and always answer any questions I have no matter how busy they are...and it is busy, especially on Saturday mornings! Nadine at the front is super nice, I really love this place. They take it seriously but it's not a "dance moms" nightmare. They really inspire my daughter and I'm so glad I found them. I love it and I hope she stays dancing with them for awhile. I can't beat it for the quality and price.

Unfortunately this dance studio sets a terrible example for children. It encourages parents to…read moreexercise the "my family is more important than any other people" mentality by double and triple parking up all the corners and fire hydrants up. This teaches children that the lives and safety of pedestrians, cyclists and other motorists don't matter one bit. What matters is convenience for the ritzy families taking their children to dance. That the dance studio accepts this lesson being taught by example to its students is detrimental to the upbringing of the children.

The owner, Ms. Tony was so heartwarming and welcoming. She guided us through each class and what to expect. She was highly honest and very knowledgeable of every single class. As each year goes by I'm beyond thankful to have found this place. I've seen many students at different levels but most important have seen how my child has progressed. The techniques taught have given my daughter great motor skills, social skills and has great coordination. As for recitals, my daughter is fearless!! Thanks Visions for all you do!

Anyway, I grew up and danced with both owners. I believe I know some of the other teachers there as well. CDE's level of teaching dance supersedes that of any other dance school in the entire tri-state area. Bank on that. Many of their students have gone on to the best Performing Arts High Schools as well as top notch Colleges. Many/most students get scholarships and are awarded high honors, join a major ballet company, end up on Broadway (Rockettes or Musicals), or teach at prestigious dance companies all over the globe. Competitive? Yes, of course. They are great enough to be. If your child has the skill and the drive to take it all the way then you WANT CDE. You want them to be trained by the best in the business. If you want to be coddled, lied to, and to be taken advantage of financially: go to a dance school that has the teacher's name in it. Ms Joy's School of Dance will gladly take your money and lie to your child about his/her skill level. Think of it like this: if your child wants to dance as a once a week hobby or a recreation: CDE might not be the place for them but they will make sure they dance like a pro anyway. If you think your kid may want a lifelong career in dance, desire to try out for any of the tv dance shows out there, compete at a high level, dance on Broadway, teach dance, or anything of the sort: you WANT CDE.

I just wanted to share the amazing experience I had watching CDE recital recently. I do not have…read morechildren enrolled at CDE, but was lucky enough to be invited to watch their 2018-2019 recital. I was super impressed with their amazing show from beginning to end. The skills of the dancers were absolutely solid, the choreography was beautiful, the choices of music and numbers were modern and beautifully executed and the costumes were stunning. I felt that I was at a professional dancing company performance the whole time. I loved how they integrated classical ballet techniques into the non-ballet numbers to showcase the solid skil-set foundation of their students. All in all, I was immensely impressed. Spectacular job of both teachers and students! Congratulations to owners, teachers and all the dancers on a fantastic performance and thank you to Christina Manousos for graciously providing me with an opportunity to watch it.
