So, the salesman in the t-shirt/merchandise store was friendly enough. My wife and I ended up buying over $320 euros worth of merchandise. It wasn't until after we left that I realized that I forgot to get the tax exemption form for tourists. I went back and asked for my exemption form, once the salesman found out I didn't have my passport he said he couldn't help me (even though the day before, a gift shop used our drivers license). Salesman said to go to the airport and just show them the receipt and everything will be handled that way. Well, we went to the airport and the govt official said I needed a form from the store in order to process the tax refund. Great, it seems the salesman figured that he would never see me again and chose to take the easy way out instead of filling out the necessary paperwork.
