She has advised me through many of my life's major transitions: Single Life, Married Life, Starting a Business, and Long Term Traveling. I met Jessica when I was single. I was financially unorganzied and only had a checking and savings account. With her help, she got my finances in order by diversifying my savings across many different products & platforms and helped me set up financial goals. When I got married, she helped me with the transition and guided us with merging our finances together (a daunting task for any couple, which made our lives easier). She helped advise us on some products that would benefit a married couple, made sure that we were financially secure, and offered advices on other areas that we should be concerned about. When I started a small consulting company, Jessica helped me with the finances of getting a new business off the ground. She created a business account for me and worked to diversify the business income and a retirement savings plan. Most importantly, Jessica's helped us plan out our year long travel/career break. She worked with us to make sure we were financially ready for us to quit our jobs and travel on our savings without depleting it completely. Jessica worked with us on establishing a budget and a stretch budget (since traveling long term is unlike traveling for vacations). She was alway available to us while we were on the road if we needed any information or to make a transfer of funds if we needed it. She was a great asset to have while we were on the road. It help us enjoy our travel with one less thing to worry about.

I was pretty intimidated with the idea of meeting with a financial planner, initially. In fact, I really didn't feel ready! I was pretty sure that I would want to have a lot more money in my bank accounts before "planning" would make any sense. Boy was I wrong! As Jessica helped me understand, it is important to plan from the beginning, even before you start making big investments or before your business takes off, so that you can build on a solid foundation. Jessica is easy to talk to, and helps me understand why what I do today is important for my future, and the future of my business. Now when I think about my finances, I don't immediately start having palpitations, because I know I have a plan in place and Jessica is helping me! I can rest easier. I highly recommend working with Jessica Merino, even before you think you are ready!

This is actually a 5 NEGATIVE rating. IN SHORT- DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT…read moreCARE. AND HOLDS YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ERRORS On Friday I got my final payroll check from the State. I went into the local branch to make the deposits to ensure there are no extended hold or hiccups. Before depositing, I asked the staff if there will be any hold on them. He CLEARLY informed me (and I have a witness as my partner was with me) that there will be no withholding and that the funds will be available Monday, 12/30. I logged in on Saturday and noticed that they withheld 90% of my deposits. I called their "LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE" number and was told that it would be an easy fix, but I have to wait till Monday because the department that handles state warrants (for payroll) is closed. But a staff can call the state to verify that the funds are good. Monday comes along and I called. This time I was told that after their research, it was determined that it was an error made by the branch. That they should have coded it as an exception and provide explanation that they were state warrants and not as checks. That the ONLY way to fix it would be to call the branch and explain to them. He offered to call the branch and explain to them how to properly code the deposits and asked that I wait on line. He came back and told me that the branch will not be open for another 30 minutes. That he will place good notes on the account, and if I were to call back in 30 minutes, the rep taking the call will be able to assist. I called back after 30 minutes and this time I stayed online with the rep for over 40 minutes waiting for the branch to pick up. So after discussing it with him, he suggested that I go into the branch in person as he is also at loss since no one is picking up the call. Very reluctantly I had to cancel my personal plans and drove to the branch. Got the same run around, "oh you have no appointment so I am going to place you on our list" - I explained to him that his back office tried called them and was placed on hold for over 40 minutes and his response was, "well it is year end and we are busy so no one it taking calls"!!!!! So I had no choice but waited as I needed my funds released to pay my bills. I waited for almost 30 minutes in the lobby, but nothing was happening and so I flagged down a staff and asked. He said, " oh I thought someone was helping you" then scoot back in and about 10 minutes later another rep came out. Took me to the room and gave me the bad news, that he is unable to assist, that the back office gave me bad information as there is no way for them to code any deposits as an exception. I asked why I was told that there would be no hold when I came in on Friday, and all he did was apologize and gave the fake show of concerns that, wished there was something he could have done. That the only way to code an exception is for a manager to do so, but there are no managers at the branch. Then he continued to insult me by explaining that Fidelity is not a bank (duh? like I did not know that , and he kept repeating it even after I informed him that I worked for other investment and brokerage firms in my past, plus I worked as a regulatory compliance consultant and know the difference) In frustration I walked out of the branch. I then called the "LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE" number again and tried to file a complaint, and although the rep was all sympathetic and all, he came back ultimately with the same answer. 1) I cannot file a complain unless I write it and 2) he explained why the hold was place. Fidelity as a firm has been hit with so many fraudulent deposits and as a result, management has decided that every customer is BAD. I have been with them for almost 20 years? Why I am being I punished for their prior poor deposit policy? WHY I am I held responsible for inaccurate disclosure by their branch staff? Finally why did it take speaking to 5 DIFFERENT rep before I was told the real reason why there is a 30 day hold on my checks?? WILL CLOSE MY ACCOUNT on 1/22/2025 when hold is off.

After 7 days, I checked my account, and it said that the money would not be available for another *19* days. I had a significant interest payment ($500) coming up on a loan that I needed to pay back with these funds, and I would have to pay it if I couldn't get the check cleared in time. I went through *multiple* channels at Fidelity and to try to resolve this, but they were adamant that there was nothing they could do. If I'd taken the check to US Bank, it would have been cleared in 10 days or less. The office is unwilling to take any responsibility for their error, and I'm now out the $500. They are losing a long-term client whose investments are worth well more than the check itself.
