Full disclosure- When I was 10, my dad was involved in rotary and helped get this park built. We…read more(my siblings and I) helped build it as much as 10, 8 and 5 year olds could, so we have an attachment. That said, it remains an amazing little park! It's located a little over a mile from Sarg Hubbard park and about half a mile from El Mirador (the closest restaurant). It's a delightful little walk along the greenway path! If you're a fan of flat, nicely paved ground, with plenty of foliage, a lovely river running past and the occasional deer, this walk is for you! The park itself was donated entirely and constructed by volunteers about 25 years ago. It's got everything a kid could want - slides, bridges, stuff to climb on, high towers to look out, chains to balance on, swings, tires and small little labyrinths! You can run around or just climb all over! The place has one way in and one way out, which corrales everyone nicely. The place has definitely been used over the past 2 decades, but has plenty of miles left. There's good spots for parents to sit and observe or plenty of room to actually run with the kids, wherever your fancy! If you're looking for a good family outing spot, this one needs to be on your list!

Anyone who goes here will soon find it in the rotation of places to take the kiddos. It's located off of Rinda Court in Selah. For whatever reason it's not well marked on a lot of online maps, but hopefully recognition at the park is their ups change this! It's literally just off the main road by a couple of blocks, but is very tucked back into a neighborhood. There's a good amount of parking, and it's very easy to get in and out. There are some incredible play structures including swings that were designed for kiddos with disabilities. The swings are much larger, have latches As well as a harness that pulls over the front of the kids. It works well for everybody, but definitely makes it easier for kids that would normally have a hard time on a standard playground. There's a misting station to keep everybody cool, a new school merry-go-round it is it made out of metal can't boil water on it, as well as lots of things for the kids to play on it. There are half a dozen picnic tables that flank the park and there's a very large grassy area just outside the playground. They did beyond an incredible job with the stain. If you haven't checked it out, it's well worth your time to do so!

My experience with Sarge Hubbard Park has been one of a bimodal distribution. The first experience…read morewas about 25 years ago and consisted of playing at Sarge Hubbard Park followed by a decision to never go back given that it was not well kept up and any rougher area. Fast forward to the current time where are experienced recently was an entirely different one. Like many of the other parks in the area, this place has undergone a total transformation in the past decade or so and is now very nice and a place that we will be frequenting. At the entrance to the greenway path, lies Sarge Hubbard Park. The place that is large and rather impressive, with plenty of areas for both young kids and slightly older children. Notably, there are no swing sets here, so I'm told that's now commonplace in the area. There's a large field nearby as well as a number of pathways leading out to other play areas. Not a bad transition from a place where if you wouldn't go to walk their dog a decade ago. While we were there, there were probably 40 kids playing and plenty of seating for parents. A great spot if you're heading out into parasites or just need to get away for a little bit so the kids can run off some energy.

It's in close proximity to burger king and Walmart, is a quick stop at either on your way allows you to make a picnic of the visit. Heck, the breeze was perfect and sun out today, if I had thought about it, I'd have brought a kite, book or fishing pole for my solo walk around this very clean park. There is a pond, river access, nicely paved paths, ample parking, benches and trash bins galore. I also discovered they have fitness stations located throughout the park for those wanting to combine bike riding, jogging, and a total body workout. I chose to walk around and enjoy the smells and sights of a beautiful fall day with the beautiful leaves in a range of colors while listening to my audio book. I saw restroom facilities and covered picnic areas as well as an occasional drinking fountain. It's definitely worth the stop.

They each had plenty of space to put up a tent. The park had plenty of space surrounding the campsites so you didn't feel like you were close to a major population centre. The park had some good facilities for activities such as a playground, beach volleyball court and a (in need of repair) normal volleyball court. We made good use of these facilities to play some volleyball, badminton and kick a ball around. There are also some well kept gardens near the campsites and some nice walking trails leading to the Yakima river. The paths were not difficult to follow and we walked to the river and back at night. The general camping facilities were basic with a toilet block near the campsite. To get hot water you had to exchange money for park tokens (2 tokens for $1). We found the hot water to be inconsistent and personally I couldn't get it to work. There were no cooking facilities other than the fire pit. However the park is close enough to shops were you can get supplies (firewood etc) to make this work.

Temperature was 99F, hot as hell, no water to cool off. We tried shower, but after 5 seconds water got hot and when we tried to adjust it, it turned off. We chose this park because it was by the river and were hoping to swim or float. I would expect that they would inform the coming guests about restriction of access to the river. We will never go back!!!
