Prior to this last week, it has been fifteen or so years since we'd hit up Franklin Park. This place has undergone a total transformation and is no longer the janky spot I remembered, but rather somewhere we're now excited to take our kids!
Know by most in the area for the boss terraces that are famous for launching sledding children, it now boasts a lovely play ground, a ton of great running/playing area and a beautiful stage built by one of the local Rotary clubs. The trees have all matured nicely (from 20 years ago) in the pool for the summer time continues to look like it's a crowd favorite.
This is one in a rather long list of places that has really turned a corner over the last decade or so. It's a great place for kids, picnics or just a walk on a nice day, which Yakima has plenty of!
