I love how clean this theater always is! The staff at the registers are super friendly and welcoming, and booking online is a breeze. It's so easy to purchase tickets and pick your exact seats ahead of time. While ticket and concession prices are a bit on the pricier side, you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality and comfort. They also have an incredible variety of snacks to choose from at the concession stand! My only minor complaint is that I wish they scheduled more showings in the XL Cinema screen format. Overall, it's still my go-to spot for movie night!

I stopped by yesterday with the fam bam on Christmas day to watch the new Anaconda movie and it was great! It was pretty funny, we loved it. The theater itself is clean and the bathrooms were clean! The staff were friendly and helpful, the ambiance inside is nice as well. The smell of popcorn when you walk in hits you right away, loved it! We always get popcorn with extra butter, and I got an icee mixed with blue and red, my man got a soda pop and so did my son. We also got some candies, sour patch watermelon and gummy worms! I also got the jumbo chocolate chip cookie. Yum! The seats were also clean and inside the actual theater was clean. It was a nice experience we had a great time! They do keep it pretty chilly in here so I brought my harkins blanket and my son had his jacket. They also have a mini arcade in here as well, I thought that was pretty cool!

Cancelled movie ticket no refund just offered movie vouchers

7/31/26 10:00pm I last minute found out through the Harkins app trying to order popcorn I no longer had tickets for Spiderman Brand New Day for 10:45pm Cine1. The manager and the team at this location are useless and informed me the theater was not safe and sent an email instead of directly contacting through call or text about the inconvenience. I am frustrated since I bought this ticket over a week ago and the app has both my phone number and email. Harkins staff is unable to change tickets over the phone to another theater/time and failed to sent an email about the cancelation and supposed voucher. Manager attempted to send an email and continued to fail to sent any email. Spam, Archive and trash were checked. I requested a refund and the manager informed me refunds are not doable over the phone and I would need to go in person or they can have to have client resources call me tomorrow to get a refund over the phone and they open at 9:00am and not guarantee a set time on a call. Disappointed with Harkins Theater for dropping the ball. We try to support a local company. We were able to get seating at AMC for 11:15pm so we will see the movie we wanted opening night. Update 8/2/26 Never received a call from Client Resources but did get a refund. Received a phone call from a Harkins General Manager today did not answer because it instantly got me in a bad mood due to the day my movie was cancelled I was told they are not allowed to call people that's why they sent an email. They left a voicemail to address concerns, nothing they can do to fix this. Also did not receive an email from a Harkins Theater about the cancelation it was emailed from Christina Marin.

Policy and government mandate

I'm not sure what's going on here at this location but the management and staff are discriminating teens to watch a movie with an adult present. Imagine coming with a family movie night as well and the management denying passage on made up standard policies because of age groups with adults. HR needs to correct and retrain their staff in discrimination laws!

Sunday, 4/10/2022 - Went to Harkins Theater to watch "The Lost City" staring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt and others. Address is 2550 W Happy Valley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85085. This theatre is located in a shopping plaza. But I can't remember the shopping plaza name. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) plenty of parking 2) there's other little shops around the theater. So if you're still waiting to watch your movie, you can go walk around or eat. 3) you go inside to buy your movie ticket. The lady at Guest Service was so nice. 4) you get to pick your seats. 5) lots of goodies you can buy at the concession stand. The young people helping us on the other side of the counter was very nice. 6) glad there's a spot in the arm rest to put your drink. 7) women's bathroom was clean. 8. There is a game room. Cons: 1) guess I'm used to the leather, reclining chairs with the foot rest where I'm from. But the seats here don't recline and no foot rest. Just straight chairs. 2) you can't move the arm rest up. 3) lots of popcorn was underneath the arm rest where I was sitting at. Dirty. But I just used my napkins to push it off. Conclusion: Nice theatre. Roomy. Spacious. Nice staffs with good attitude and great customer service. Even though the theater seats weren't too comfortable (cus I'm used to the ones where I came from), I like this theatre. Hopefully they'll send their staff to try to pick up/clean up after each movie so the new incoming patrons don't have to go in and clean up what the prior customer left behind.

Nice clean theater. Went to see the new Godzilla Kong movie. Lots of action, and a couple of goofy parts but still, fun to watch.

Terrible experience today! Came in over 20 minutes early for the movie. There is some sort of group function going on. This team wasn't prepared! Been in line at the concessions for a while and will be missing part of the movie! They've got three people working the concessions checkout--pretty poor planning Harkins!

Only thing this theater needs to be amazing is reclining seats and a bar. Otherwise, it's good!

Ask the Community - Harkins Theatres - Norterra

Is there any plan to add reclining theater seats anytime soon?

At this time, nothing has been announced. That being said, we are planning on upgrading the majority of locations in the next few years. We are currently upgrading our Tucson Spectrum location and our SanTan location. Hope this helps!

It's been awhile since asked: Does Norterra 14 have the recliner seats yet? Thank you kindly!

At this time, we do not. However, we did switch to reserved seating! Hope this helps!

Does this theatre have reclining seats yet?

This location does not have recliners, but we are testing reserved seating. Hope this helps!

Does this theater have a bar?

I don't think so but the Harkins at Arrowhead Fountains 18 does!

Plus, I was sitting by myself (my son and his friend wanted nothing to do with me, LOL) and when I entered the almost empty theater someone was sitting right next to the chair I reserved -- awkward -- since the chairs seemed to be in pairs, it just seemed really close and weird to be practically laying down next to a stranger. Plus I sat on the top right isle and the lights from the stairs were very annoying. I wish I would have noticed the bar before I got a giant soda -- I could have used one (plus was seeing a horror movie my son forced me to take him to). My son and his friends got a pizza and the hot dog and said they were terrible and mostly inedible. Half way through the movie I had to go the restroom and they were very dirty with paper everywhere -- gross. When I returned to the movie I moved to a different seat so I could be more comfortable. I wish you didn't have to reserve your seat in advance -- I don't like that!

Drinks spilt on the floor were there when we arrived and were still there when we went through the food line. Huge safety issue. People are messy here which is not ok. But staff are not cleaning up. The cashier that took our order obviously hates his job and was rude. We were grossed out and will not be back to an AMC theatre. This is not the first time we have been to an AMC theater and it was just dirty. How does a manger or staff look around and be okay with the mess.

While I certainly went…read moreto more movies before the pandemic, I have slowly been going back again with a visit or two each year to Desert Ridge to see movies. I went there recently, and I had a good experience getting some snacks and enjoying a good movie with a friend. Every now and then, I receive Atom codes through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app as a T-Mobile phone service subscriber. I recently was able to secure two codes for $5 movie tickets to see the latest Spider-Man movie. I chose to redeem them for AMC Desert Ridge, and I certainly saved quite a lot to see the Dolby Cinema showing with reserved seating. We ordered some popcorn and drinks before the movie which we picked up out in the lobby and brought into our theatre instead of ordering from our seats. The movie was great, the snacks were great, and the customer service was great! This particular location is a Dine-In theatre where you can personalize your seat leaning back and a footrest appearing. You can also order food and drinks right to your seat. Some of the scree options include the Dolby Cinema, SCREENX, and IMAX with Laser. They have discount matinees and open caption options with on-screen subtitles. They also have sensory friendly films, AMC Artisan Films, and so much more. This location is also now part of the traditional AMC Family and exclusively offers the Feature Fare Menu with Express Pick-Up only. While the prices can be high at times, there are always some good offers and deals to offset the prices (beyond a simple matinee). If you sign up for the AMC STUBS Rewards program, you get free movie perks. Each movie earns you points toward $5 rewards and more. Then, you can unlock Premiere GO! free upgraded perks like rewards earned 2X faster. You can also purchase a Premiere membership to earn 5X faster. Then, there is also the AMC STUBS A-LIST where you can see up to four movies a week in a format starting at just $19.99 plus tax each month. The benefits keep coming! I personally just have the AMC STUBS Rewards program, but it is still worth it when I make it to the movies. Definitely check out AMC Desert Ridge 18 for a memorable experience!

Definitely won't be returning to this theater…read more I chose this theater because of its location and the IMAX theater option. When I entered the theater and walked up the steps there were no row letters to know which row my seat was in. I had to ask another customer to make sure I was in the right row. According to another customer the row desigations are on the other side of the theater. The theater still has the old style seats that dont reclined, the seats are very worn and show their age and there is very little legroom. The theater was very direct with food on the floor. The sound was so loud during the 25 minutes of previews that I wish I had had ear plugs. Luckily the sound volume was appropriate for the feature film. I expected a lot more for my ~$23 ticket. I saw the same movie the week before but at a theater that showed it in Cine XL and the senior ticket was less than $19, the seats reclined and even with seats reclined there was plenty of room for people to walk by. This is just one experience. Others may have a different experience in a different auditorium.

We both ordered the Chipolet Chicken sandwich he wanted regualar fries and I upgraded for the southwest fries. He had the fried chicken and I had the grilled. People that came to the theater after us were being served their order before us. It took almost 30 minutes before our order arrived. Both fries were cold and I didn't get my southwest fries. The server said he would go get them for me. I waited almost 10 minutes and got another server and after another 20 minutes the southwest fries arrived. The cheese was stone cold. I barely touuched them and the sandwhich had chicken on one side and no meet on the other side. After the movie, I requested to see the manager. The manager came and instead of apologizing he was combative. Stating to me that the southwest fries were not cold because he plated them . Saying to me " what do you want me to do?" Also stating that he is glad they have cameras, because he wants to get to the bottom of this. But never just apologizing. I informed him how my sandwhich had no chicken on 1/2 of it and he said that is the way they measure it. It was gross the way I was treated and I was reasonible. I told him I have no problem paying for my sons dinner and both drinks, but not mine. He accommodated me but was not apologetic. I have been going for years to this theater and it seems that the food has been inconsistant. The manager seemed more like he didn't care. I thought I would let you know. You go to have a good night. You indulge by ordering food to enjoy the whole experience. I shouldn't have rebuttals when I am telling him (and on camera), what I received as a customer.

The seats are large & very comfortable, the tables are a good size, and I appreciate the space between tables where the napkins and ketchup mustard are. I do think the theatre could use a bit extra cleaning as there were some sticky spots on my armrest but overall didn't bother me. I got the burger that has ghost pepper sauce and jalapeños on it but did a crispy chicken sandwich. It was messy but delicious. The coleslaw texture was nice and crunchy but lacked flavor. The waffle fries are incredible. The salted caramel gelato was ultra creamy and delicious BUT did have a few random huge chocolate (maybe) pieces in it? In the dark theatre I couldnt see them in my cup and had no idea what they were because they weren't sweet in my mouth either. Just spit them out out of caution. Service was friendly but pretty hands off. We pressed the button when we got there and they came and took our order. We put the food in and he gave us the option to do our gelato 30 minutes after our food arrived, we agreed. Food came, gelato never came so we had to press the button and a new woman came and took our order, she said it never got rang in so we had to chit chat more than we would've liked during the movie. Just a slight error. They also did not clear our tables until the very end of the movie, I'm not sure if that's normal or not but it would've just been nice if they took my dirty dinner plate when I got my gelato. Nontheless our experience was nice and I would absolutely return for the Tuesday movie deal! Next time I want to try their big bowl of popcorn. Also side note - anyone complaining they check your bag. First off, it's a quick glance not anything crazy. Second, this is a restaurant concept and movies are discounted (vs Harkins) because of it. If you want to sneak food in, go to a regular theatre. They clearly make their money on f&b sales. This is a small business. Respect it and don't complain. Also, they allow water bottles :)
