With bread, peanut butter and jelly we were able to have some lunches on the go. They even had gelato ice cream! Located very close to several hotels, J&Js is a good resource for essential supplies on the road.

This is a scam because they have to pay 40 cents per credit card transaction and people's credit card transactions cost them 0 cents. If they make you use your bank card, you're paying $1.50 extra right away as a surcharge from the service and another $1.50 at the end of the month from your bank, for using the bank card service. So you pay $3.00 more PLUS the costs of your goods, and they make 40 cents on you behind the scenes. If they have 100 transactions a day, that's $40.00 a day and $1200.00 a month they make illegally while YOU PAY 100 TIMES MORE FROM YOUR POCKET! And the worst thing is the wife of the owner smiles to your face and says WE NO CHEAT while they cheat you. Thanks Trudeau for bringing this garbage here to Canada!

Prices are a bit higher than the major grocers but if you don't have a vehicle, having a local store within walking distance is worth the cost of not having to haul your groceries home on the bus. The staff are very friendly and they have a rewards program so you can earn points on your spending. And they are a BCLC lotto retailer, so you can purchase and validate all of your lottery tickets here. If I ever win a jackpot, I would go on a shopping spree right here at Stadium Market.

Pros: - fresh fresh fresh fresh fruit that is very fresh. It's fresh. - prices are v good and they're v competitive since there are many other produce shops within a few metres away from one another - lots of bulk variety and not at all expensive - they bring in snacks that you don't normally see, so if you have the time- need to go through the aisles and really look at everything. There are some amazing things out there that aren't the usual Pringles and Milk Duds - staff I meet at the cashier are always v friendly and speedy to serve. Notes: - parking is tough, the drive is not really good for those driving, but try metered street out front, or the residential inside streets (careful of the signs and driveways)

The caveat is that one must pick and choose amongst an assortment of good- and poor-quality produce. Sometimes the deals here are phenomenal - in the summer, they might have beautiful heirloom tomatoes at bargain prices - at other times, the peppers are all withered and the potatoes are sprouting. Danial, the young man who's usually behind the counter, is friendly and welcoming. If I do run into quality issues with a purchase he has no problems in accepting returns. I live a couple blocks away so for me it's a minor deal, but I can see it being a problem if you live further away. 3.5 stars.

The younger man (I assume son) has made some belittling remarks about my purchases in the past, seemingly chiding me for not spending enough in the store. I don't appreciate this approach to customer service or the disrespectful loudmouth delivery. The prices for some items are reasonable but the quality isn't always fresh, while other items I consider grossly overpriced. Overall, I rarely have a pleasant experience here so will be moving on.

The packet was labelled as "makki da atta," but it actually contained corn starch, which is not the same product. When we returned to the store to exchange it for the correct product, instead of providing a full refund or replacement, they still charged him $1.70 for the difference. This is misleading to customers, especially when the product is incorrectly labelled. We are considering reporting the matter to Consumer Affairs so it can be properly investigated. If anyone else has experienced similar issues with incorrectly labelled or misleading products from this store, I encourage you to report it to the appropriate consumer protection authority.

So in I went for a couple mangoes($1.50 each), some instant cocoa oatmeal($2), some chocolate and see salt Western family chocolate (@100g 2 for $3) and a can of chickpeas (4 for $5). Jolly good value all in all, far better than I'm used to here! It was almost closing time so the rush was on, but they handled it well. I will say that most of the time you'll find better deals elsewhere. I think Buy Low knows their consumers know that, and they're okay with it. No Frills is a ten minute walk away towards Cambie. Nesters across the street is pricier, sure, but probably doesn't have the variety of Buy Low. Hours you say? 8 to 9 everyday. For my one visit to Buy Low, I probably go downstairs to Shoppers Drug Mart ten times. There's nothing wrong with this grocery store.
