Because the numbers of our house were written incorrectly on the invoice, it did take the electrician a little longer to find us. The work was done correctly and well. I wore a mask, but the electrician did not. I did need to sign paperwork etc, so it might have been a good idea if they would wear masks while in a customers home. The city inspector was happy with the work and so were we. Thanks Prime Electric!

They were the place closest to us so we called. They provided us with rush service considering the issue and timing and explained the best way to fix the issue and did so in a very timely fashion. This time, we had issues with our doorbell. Jeff R. came out within the time promised. He was very nice and respectful. We sorted out the issue, it was fixed in an hour, and the charge was the minimum at $165. Overall, two great experiences with Best Electric!

The first time was okay, I let him inside (during COVID) even though he was doing outdoor work so he could see the space. He never wore a mask, didn't even have one, and no shoe covers either. The next time I asked him to wear a mask and I had to provide one to him. The next time (yes, this has been almost two months and the project still isn't complete) he showed up to the job with a dead drill? He needed to plug it into my house to charge, and then just sat in his van half an hour letting it juice up. We wanted two over-door lights and two outdoor outlets put in. He would leave siding open on the house showing the insulation and then leave for days at a time, even during rain storms. The last time he came over he slammed so hard that the plaster wall cracked INSIDE the house! We had two switches to be fixed inside, he did one then sat down and said he was too tired for the day and needed to go home. So he just.... left? Still hasn't been fixed. Now it's been three and a half weeks since he "finished" the project and guess what? The switches for the outdoor lights are swapped. One side of the duplex controls the other side's outdoor lights and vice versa. We've been calling this whole time to get him to return and fix the work, but no one has showed up.

Unfortunately, without any notification to existing customers, the company was sold to ABC Heating. I had a maintenance appointment scheduled months ago for today between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. No one called or texted to let me know the technician was running late. When I called, I was met with an AI phone system. After repeatedly asking to speak with a real person, I finally reached someone, but she couldn't provide any information because dispatch wasn't responding to her either. As I write this, I'm still waiting for my technician to arrive. The excellent customer service was the main reason I chose this company and purchased a service contract. This experience has been extremely disappointing. At a minimum, current contract customers should have been notified that the company had been sold and reassured that service would continue without disruption. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend this company.

I'm happy to review KWK Electric! We recently had KWK install an extra switch box in our basement…read moreso that we could add two dedicated outlets in my workshop for my table saw, miter saw, and other big tools. Ken, one of the owners came for the estimate and was enjoyable to work with. He explained things very well and made excellent suggestions. The estimate was very reasonable and clear. Patrick, the electrician, arrived at the agreed upon time and got right to work. He paid close attention to detail and worked quietly and efficiently. He was also enjoyable to work with and explained thing very well. Ultimately, Ken and Patrick were able to save us approximately $400 because their tests indicated that we did not need a power upgrade as we first thought. Partick finished on time and the work was excellent. As a little added bonus, Ken dropped by about half way through the process to inspect Patrick's work and dropped off some chocolates because he said it would help relieve some of the stress of having the work done. Overall our experience with KWK was very positive and I highly recommend this company. Thank you KWK!

I called to get a quote for running new wire from my house to my garage…read more What did I like? 1) They told me they partner with Hunger Task Force, so I could donate 5 non-perishable goods instead of paying dispath fee. 2) Employees that came to my house were courteous and respectful and seemed knowledgeable. 3) Staff answering the phone were very friendly. What did I not like? 1) Tech that came to my house spent 2 hours looking at my circuit breaker box and plugging a device into a few of my outlets, talking about a concern with "voltage drop" that might be cause of garage power outage. It wasn't, but he was looking for other services to sell me. Never quoted me for the service I needed done. 2) Supervisor came by 2 hours later to re-inforce the "voltage drop" concern. Gave me a quote. Quote included surge protectors for each circuit box that I did not ask for. After surge protectors removed from quote, it was still $4400 more than the quote of the company I ultimately hired to do the work. Tech and supervisor both got their boss (same guy) on speakerphone to discuss voltage drop concern. Would cost $200+ per outlet to repair and still not guaranteed to resolve voltage drop concern. Very suspect operation. I will never call this company again for anything. If you do, be sure to get multiple quotes from other companies.

Date of service: October 6, 2022…read more An unfortunate side effect of our new roof was that the crew took out our post light in the front yard with their equipment. They were great about getting it resolved especially as it took me a while to find an electrician that could come to the house and work with our schedule. Since part of the issue with contractors such as this is the service call piece, I decided to take advantage of the situation and have them replace the ceiling fan in our office as the fan part seemed to have died an early death. Scheduling with their website was relatively easy though I did have to have the obligatory call with them to essentially repeat what I said in my online message. A key thing for me was that I needed a separate invoice for the post light and the ceiling fan as the roofing company wouldn't be reimbursing me for that expense, obviously, but I also didn't want to pay two trip charges. Drake, the electrician that came out was quite friendly and personable. I have no complaints with the work that was done, though he did dispose of the user manuals for both the ceiling fan and the post light without asking me. I am sure I could get them online but it's always easier to have the book handy as model numbers change and I won't likely remember the name of the manufacturer of these items years later. Where I am a little leery of Over the Moon is that the cost of the two jobs--each took almost an identical amount of time, about two hours per--were wildly different in price. The post light installation was four times the cost of the ceiling fan. I'm not sure if that's because their service call rate is astronomical or if they felt that they could gauge my roofing company, but it seemed a bit off to me. Lastly, getting invoices for each item took a bit of doing as the first email I received was really just a couple lines of text on a plain PDF. Thankfully after I asked for something more did I get separate invoices for the two jobs.

No repairs were performed and I was ultimately told that the AC was operating normally, without a solution to the temperature difference I had called about. I understand paying for diagnostic time, but $300 for this visit felt very expensive, and I wish the additional charges had been clearer when I scheduled. Update: I appreciate the business owner commenting on their charge process. The technician specifically noted charging me for 45 minutes, and I have an email time stamped 45 minutes after he started work. Also, none of the paperwork notes that the initial charge includes 30 minutes of time, which further emphasizes my point about transparency. Update: Update: I previously listed the wrong dollar amounts, so I am correcting them after reviewing my invoice. I was charged $149 for the diagnostic visit plus $130 for an additional 45 minutes of labor, for a total of $292.95 with tax. After the business stated that the technician spent approximately 75 minutes diagnosing my AC, I requested their timestamped records. Their records show that at 12:38 PM I signed their Customer Acknowledgement stating that "all work has been completed," and my invoice was emailed at 12:40 PM. However, they are counting time through 12:51 PM toward the 75-minute visit based on their tracking system. I disputed the additional labor charge and requested a refund. The company refused and offered only a credit toward future service, which I declined. My concern is not that diagnostic work costs money. My concern is being charged for diagnostic labor that I do not believe is supported by the company's own records.

I had an appointment for a $179 A/C tune-up. We had been customers of 1st Choice for 26 years and…read moreregularly had "Steve" as our tech. He was knowledgeable and honest. He retired, the company changed hands a couple years ago and this is what happened. The new tech "Nick" arrived and immediately declared our existing unit obsolete. He never layed a meaningful hand on the equipment. Since it was 26 years old I decided to go with his advice which lead to cursory look at our furnace and a caution that "Carrier" was fazing out of residential HVAC equipment and they no longer sold it. He suggested that we stop right there before he did any "work" and have his brother "Dan" come in to give me an estimate on replacing both units. He said there would be NO CHARGE for him since he hadn't done anything. He left and Dan came an hour later and gave me an estimate for roughly $14,000. It was emailed to me. When I looked for it the first thing I saw was a bill for $135 for "Cancelling the Tune-up"! There was nothing wrong with my equipment so I called the "office" and this awful receptionist, Heather, immediately got defensive. She insisted that the technician should have told me about the charge and that she would have a lien put on our house if I didn't pay! She Hung up when I told her that she likely just caused her company to lose a $14,000 job. I called back the next day, hoping to get through to anyone who understood the situation. If they were going to charge me $135 for nothing, I wanted them to come back for the $179 tune-up. "Heather" answered again and refused to forward the call, and hung up again! I am a respected business man in the real estate and financial business for over 40 years. I have given out hundreds of referrals over that time. I would never recommend this HVAC company again if they were the last one on earth!
