Both Happier living and Hardloop don't have contact phone numbers, charged me an insane $260 dollar no show fee after their appointment link went into my spam folder and was waiting at the time for a link to come and it never did. Their site came up when I searched for LOCAL doctors in Seattle, Washington, but I liked the vision presented on their site. The first red flag was that I was only offered appointments before 8am. I contacted support and could not get a straight answer about later appointments, so I went through with the appointment. I liked the provider so I decided to try to deal with the scheduling difficulties. Unfortunately, due to medication side effects, I missed my next 7:30am appointment. I was mortified because I haven't missed an appointment in years. I apologized, promised it won't happen again, and rescheduled... the most reasonable appointment slot I could get was at 6:10am. For this FIRST-TIME missed appointment, they fined me HUNDREDS of dollars!! I've never encountered a doctors office who would do this in my life. If they're going to fine this much, make it EXPLICITLY CLEAR in your intake, especially when a patient REPEATEDLY TELLS YOU that the early time slots will be excessively challenging. They give you the silly letters instead of the phone so you have to match up the letters to find out the number - therefore "hardloop" is supposed to the the phone but when I call that number I get the wrong number, why don't they just give the phone number.????? My daughter had a virtual appointment with Dr. Travis Jones. During the appointment, he informed her that because she was in Mississippi, he was not legally allowed to hold the appointment with her because he is only licensed for Texas. They then charged my daughter a $75 copay AND a $372.13 "Missed Appointment Fee". Billing from Hardloop wrote a condescending email about her missing her appointment. Wow. I could actually copy and paste many of the same reviews on here... I went to see a doctor back in November and it was ok. Then, a couple weeks ago I received an email saying that Happier Living had charged my bank account $480 because my claim through Anthem was denied. I called Anthem immediately and they said it wasn't. I then walked into the Happier Living offices, explained my situation to their receptionist who, herself, was surprised that they had taken money from my account without warning. She then offered to leave a message with their accounts group "HardLoop" (which is perfectly named, if you ask me) and also told me to email their payments department. I have left messages, written emails, with no response. I called Anthem again and they told me that Happier Living resubmitted a claim AFTER they had taken the money out. Anthem asked me to be patient, wait 5 days for them to go through the claim, and then respond. I checked yesterday and they have issued a payment to Happier Living. I still have no received a refund, call, email, or any type of response from Happier Living. I have mailed them an Explanation of Benefits showing that they are being paid and have heard NOTHING. I beg of you, please heed our warnings and go ELSEWHERE. My next step is filing with the Better Business Bureau and seeking legal assistance. If I could give negative stars I would. I am going through the same issue as Lyndsay H. Happier Living charged my credit card on file claiming that my insurance denied a claim. I contacted my insurance who then contacted happier living to provide them with an approval, which they did, I then receive another email stating my insurance denied the claim again. I again contacted my insurance and they confirmed they did approve the claim. I have been calling happier living since January trying to get my money refunded and all I get is voicemails, no returned calls and emails like the one below from Kimmy who never returns calls. I have contact the Better Business Bureau and suggest you contact them before scheduling an appointment with happier living. STAY AWAY. Hello Irene, I went ahead and checked the status of your claim for the visit on X/X/XXX. Your insurance has denied payment for your visit, even after notes were provided. Anthem paid for prior visits, and nothing changed in the nature of services or how your visits were billed. HardLoop has done all we can in resolving, unfortunately, the visit was still considered a noncovered service. I would recommend referencing previously paid claims. Sadly this is how many insurers operate. Their business model is based on taking in premiums and not paying out claims. Such a shady, unethical company. I was a patient​ through Happier Living, ​HardLoop processes their payments and insurance claims. Everything with my insurance was verified and I started seeking therapy​. I got a ​notice that they are no longer accepting my insurance and that I would need to see a new doctor. I then get a ​notice that they are billing me $680 for services. I call Anthem, Anthem had denied one claim because they submitted some audacious bill about a fake disorder. Anthem asked for proof via medical records which couldn't be produced because I HAVE NO DISORDER. Then they said Anthem never responded to another claim, that's because the bill from HardLoop/Happier Living/GenenGrooup was never sent to Anthem. They can't pay something that they never received​. The Anthem rep gave me her name and extension and said that Anthem had been trying to reach someone there to handle all the grievances​ but there is NO WAY TO CONTACT Hardloop! Which I see as well. Everything is email/voicemail which is spotty in responses. The sad thing is that many people are going here because of mental health issues. Hardloop bills for one of my Dr's offices. When there is an issue, they NEVER answer the phone and when you leave a message, you rarely, if ever...get a call back. So far, on this current issue of billing, they have not told me why I have a balance, just that I had one...They billed me incorrectly last fall as well and it took forever to get someone on the phone to deal with this and 2 months to get my money back. Y'all - this place is a scam. I was thrilled to at last find a psychiatrist who accepted my insurance. And I can't complain about my psychiatrist! I've been seeing Dr. Klyman since November, and she prescribed me meds that are seriously helping. It's wondrous. But last month I had an appointment (20 minute check-in, $250 value), and the billing department said first that my insurer rejected the claim and next that all my future appointments would be cancelled until it was paid. Soon after, $400 was drafted from my bank account. (Why $400? Who knows.) It's been a month since my appointment, and I've left probably ten voicemails and sent as many emails before finally speaking with Thomas -- no last name -- from HardLoop, who claims he has no supervisor but can assure me my insurance denied the claim... despite my insurance telling me that they in fact did not. They've also stopped accepting my insurance company entirely and I'm now out a psychiatrist (while on meds! cool, right?). I've asked for proof of my claim being rejected and all I received was an eight month old article about ER claims Anthem refused to pay in 2017. It's all a big ol' scam and, because I value your mental health more than these assholes do, I'm writing this review to say honey you deserve better than healthcare from con artists. read more

Everything was going fine, until -- it wasn't. All of a sudden, I get a semi-threatening email from their new billing service saying I owe the full amount of my last visit. Um, why? I'm fortunate to have good coverage that has paid everything except a co-pay for the last several months. After hours on the phone with my insurance provider (who were actually helpful and professional), and MANY un-returned emails and voicemails to Happier Living/HardLoop, I was told that all future appointments would be cancelled and I would not be permitted to schedule with them in the future. I reached out directly to Dr. Klyman, and she told me that indeed, I am barred from their practice, and good luck finding a new doctor. Well, Dr. Klyman, hopefully I can before I start having withdrawals. You are part of the problem, not the solution. This place is to be avoided at all costs. About mid-December, I received a call from my insurance, Anthem, stating that there was an issue with my claim. I was confused and called Happier Living/HardLoop (its third party billing service) to figure it out. They said they had accidentally submitted my claim twice, causing it to get rejected. They assured me they would resubmit and would sort it all out. I was satisfied that it was being handled, and continued to go to my sessions. It turns out, that when they resubmitted, Anthem asked for medical notes to justify the medical code Happier Living/HardLoop was trying to use, but Happier Living/HardLoop never sent the notes requested. (I've seen this little move is common from other people's Yelp reviews.) Instead, Happier Living/HardLoop decided to charge my credit card on file an erroneous $440 without warning or explanation. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because Anthem couldn't move forward without the notes and Happier Living/HardLoop wouldn't pick up the phone when I called. In fact, they refused to answer the phone when Anthem called and when I tried numerous times. Every time I called, it went to a voicemail. Their outgoing message changed from week to week and sometimes I wound up at someone's personal voicemail in billing and sometimes it was a general line. I legitimately called dozens of times -- sometimes in a single day -- and left countless voicemails. No one answered. No one called back. No one cared. I finally sent a long email to Hard Loop, as well as Happier Living, explaining the situation and that I found it appalling that a place specializing in mental health was ducking phone calls and treating people so horribly. People go there for help with things like anxiety, stress, depression, etc. and this kind of thing only exacerbates those conditions. I also said that they could not charge my credit card, but guess what? They took a week and a half to respond, didn't address anything I said, but took time to note that they were going to charge my card again anyway. The one time I got through to a human being during the few months of back and forth, I immediately asked to speak to a manager, and the woman tried to give me the run around. When I insisted, the manager I talked to said said she'd look into it, and then things were left unresolved. I tried to follow up with the manager by email as she said I could, and the email address had been disabled. I got a bounce back. To make matters worse, during this period I was sent several emails in error, including two emails that listed the FIRST AND LAST NAME of a different patient. That is a huge, HIPAA violation. I now know the personal information of another patient. How is that OK? When I replied to the email (and CC'd Hard Loop's main email address for good measure) stating that they were contacting the wrong client, I also got no response or apology. I haven't even included all the insane, terrible details of this situation, so that's saying something. I can only hope that people read these reviews and stay far, far away from Happier Living/HardLoop. This place will exacerbate your mental health problems and hurt you financially. Note: HardLoop, don't waste your time replying to this with whatever cookie cutter statement you've been told to give. I don't need to be sold another line about Anthem rejecting claims (I believe we all got that irrelevant 2017 article you guys are told to supply), and I've been through enough with you all. Good docs but very bad billing services and responses to inquiries - basically zero response. They charged me for a visit which surprised me because I have insurance. ($230 bucks) I sent them TWO emails and I left THREE messages, inquiring about the charge. ZERO response back. I have been with this group for a while and never had a problem UNTIL now. Giving them till the end of the week before I contact my bank. I don't think they have anybody "live" working in the office. Their reception is a voicemail. So disappointing. This is going to be long but..... All I can say is WOW! I am reading through these reviews and it's astonishing. What a horrible company (Happier living/Hardloop). My Therapist, who I had been seeing for months at a different company in Pasadena, is wonderful. And the company she worked for prior to joining Crappier, I mean Happier Living never had any problems with billing Anthem. And if there was any issues, it never affected me as a patient. After my Therapist went to this awful company, I told the intake rep that I would not be comfortable with making an appointment until my insurance is verified. So they called me and told me that my insurance has been verified and I was all set, and would only need to pay my copayment. After one or two visits, I get this lengthy email stating they were having billing issues with Anthem and they put a hold on my services. Both my therapist and I were like, what's going on! Obviously, shes a Doctor, not a biller... yet she was the one who was trying to keep me updated on what was going on. I never received a call from Happier Living. I was literally left twiddling my thumbs waiting to see how this was going to play out. This waiting was beyond stressful because I was doing really well with my doctor and enjoyed our sessions, and was scared that I would have to start all over again with a different doctor after all the progress I was experiencing. It took me forever to find her and now this big billing drama is happening with Hardloop and Anthem. So, my therapist calls me to tell me that Happier Living is going to discontinue their contract with Anthem! I couldn't believe it. I know insurance isn't perfect but I've never experienced these kinds billing issues with Anthem in the past. As I said, I had been seeing my doctor for months prior to her working for Happier Living and everything was fine. To make matters worse HardLoop has continuously sent me bills. I saw in one of the reviews, someone interacted with a manager Thomas S (no last name and apparently no manager either, as I asked for his managers information via email and he never responded back) from Hardloop. And can I just say, he made it abundantly clear that he could care less about the reputation of Happier Living/Hardloop and didn't seem to have any compassion about how the situation has stressed patients out. HOW IS THIS A MENTAL HEALTH COMPANY? I kept telling my therapist how awful it is that this company is being so blah about this situation and seems okay with causing stress to patients, who are trying to alleviate their stresses and pain (or whatever the situation my be) by seeing a therapist. I told my therapist, I know I am NOT the only one who is having a hard time with this and it's NOT FAIR TO ANY OF US PATIENTS. We the patients didn't do anything wrong! And now we are being taken through changes by a company that's supposed to help us....? A company that doesn't seem to give a care about how they made all of us feel, mentally and financially. A company that's snatching money out of the patients accounts without permission! A company who is disrupting patients services because they can't get their billing right! I can go on and on... I have nothing to gain from posting this except the fact that hopefully someone who is considering using a therapist from this company will read my post, and all of the other post on Yelp and stay clear of this place. My hope is that Hardloop and Happier Living take a real good look at these reviews and makes some positive changes. We are from Mn and what they have done to her repeatedly would be prosecuted here for jail time. Mental health patients deserve much more. Do not go to the Genen group which utilizes Hardloop and be sure to understand that the practice you do go to does not use their services. They are scammers and fraudulent.
