Hardcastle Craggs is one of my all time favourite places, to take a stroll in the woods.
It can be visited at any time of year, & each season creates its own charm.
My favourite season is 'Autumn', where you can see the 'changing colours' of the leaves, in the vast array of trees :o)
There are also, amazing cascading waterfalls, when rain has been plentyful (often, in this part of the Country)!
It is great for 'romancing' - pack a picnic & take a blanket with you ;o)
But it is also a great place for the family: for kids & pets. You can walk across the 'stepping stones', or dip your feet/splash about in the flowing stream, running thru it.
The woodland trail is a relatively easy walk from the car-park, but it can get muddy,so wear sensible foot-wear.
The area is part of The National Trust, so whilst parking - please ensure you make a donation to its up-keep.
There are many other walks, surrounding the area, if you are a keen walker.
Hebden Bridge is a short drive away, where you can get refreshments & browse local shops. read more
