I cannot recommend P&R enough and have been recommending them to anyone who will listen since they…read morerefinished my basement after a catastrophic flood. First, I received a call back after leaving a message immediately (like within the hour). I called 3 other contractors, 2 of them never returned my call and a third called back after P&R completed the work. Rick came out to my house the very next day to survey the damage and take some measurements. I had an estimate for the work within the week and they started working right after that. Rich and Jake made great recommendations for how to refurbish the basement (suggesting vinyl flooring instead of the carpeting). They installed all the flooring, repaired all of the baseboard, fixed the covering to a load-bearing beam, painted 2 rooms with 3 different paints (2 coats each) and even installed sump pump so that the flooding that happened will not happen again. They did all this work in 1 weeks time and at a great price. They worked hard and were willing to answer all of my novice, homeowner questions the entire time. Since this initial work we have had them reinstall a backsplash for out kitchen counters AND Rick came out on a Sunday, during an emergency where my power breaker was tripping every few minutes. You're simply not going to find a better contractor that P&R. My wife and I are putting together a master list of projects that we want P&R to work on in the coming years and are looking forward to having them continue to add value to our home.

His work is top quality and most importantly, he is someone I trust to work in and on my home even when I can't be there. I highly recommend him for any work you may need.

In September-December 2022, I had Tyler work on some projects at my house. I would not recommend…read moreusing Adams Family for anything at all ever! I hired Tyler to do a few projects, and most were done so badly that I had to hire another contractor to redo them. I trusted him when he told me that he could do all the projects and he had experience but that was a big mistake. Not only was his work done extremely poor, I found him very unethical. He lied to me about having insurance. He damaged an $1,100 high end tub and put some stuff on it to try to cover it up and installed it without telling me about it. He gave me a $500 "discount" off the invoice but it's too late to have it replaced. He added a $372.87 charge without discussing it for a credit card fee from a previous invoice. I specifically asked Tyler if I could pay with a credit card and he said it was fine. He never brought up any fees and just tried to add it to the next invoice. Some of the grout that Tyler installed in November is already cracking a few months later. When I brought this up to Tyler his response was "why am I hearing about it after I moved an hour and a half away." Great customer service. My new contractor asked if Tyler installed some crack proof membrane on top of the sub flooring since it's a high traffic area as well as tile sealer after he did the installation. Tyler sent me a picture from Google of a subflooring I think as his way to resolve this. I am going to have to demo it and have it completely redone correctly. At the beginning of the project, Tyler said we'll agree on a fair hourly rate to use. I reminded him a few times after he started that we need to discuss his rate and agree on it. We never did. He initially charged $50 per hour for some stuff at the beginning, then I noticed it changed to $65 per hour. We never discussed any rate change or a 30% increase. One of the most disturbing things was that we used Tyler to demo the walls on the stairs going from the first to the second floor as we were renovating them. My wife pointed out the inner wall going from the second floor to the first floor then to the basement and asked Tyler if he could demo that too as she wanted to have new iron railings. Tyler said sure and discussed doing it in a later phase after we finished the main staircase. After all the terrible work, I replaced Tyler with JCL Carpentry from Boston. My wife brought up replacing those inner walls with railings with Julio from JCL. He immediately told her absolutely not - that's a load bearing wall. The second and third floors could come right down if you removed or weakened those walls. Tyler had no idea what he was doing. He could have removed load bearing walls and had absolutely NO INSURANCE!! I hate to publicly write negative stuff online, but Tyler has no skills and has no idea what he's doing and refuses to resolve any issues. He could seriously mess up someone's home - he agreed to remove a load bearing wall in the center of my home. When I brought up issues, he just deflects or ignores. I have a list of professionals that have seen how bad his work is - electricians, plumbers, interior designers, and other carpenters that came to redo his terrible work. Save yourself time, money and headaches - use someone else! Check other reviews and complaints on the Better Business Bureau site
